- Sit back and relax as you enjoy listening to "Choreography" by Robert Sheldon. The piece draws its inspiration from dance movements found in contemporary stage, ballet and theatrical productions. This piece was also performed by my high school's concert band in our 2010 winter concert. It is one of my favorites and I hope you enjoy it! Watch in high quality (480p) for best audio!

That sudden moment when you thought you were playing fast enough and then you listen to this... :O
omg ikr even tho this is two years ago
Oh my gosh ikr! We are working through this piece for our spring concert, and I honestly thought our band was playing pretty good and somewhat fast, but when I listened to this I was like oh man.
Our band could play this at 154 beats. During UIL, we played it at 158 on accident, but then it slowed back down to 154.
Oh heck. Wtf my band was playing this so slow and we're AlL iN HiGh sChOoL
My band will be playing at this tempo during the concert.
i read comments about people playing this in 7th and 8th grade and my hs band can barely play it
bowl1or2 I played this in 8th and now I'm playing easier stuff help.
Lol just remember nobody mentioned whether or not their band sounded good on this song
bowl1or2 lol I'm in 8th and our band can easily play this we even played Stars and Stripes forever perfectly
bowl1or2 We are playing it right now in sixth grade
Regina Vaughn yeah, I get what you mean, we are playing it in 6th grade, and we can't play it perfectly, but we can play it really well. It's only because our school is one of the best musical schools in the county and whoever comes here they do it to become a musician. (most of the time) But hey, I agree with you almost completely.
I like composers who care about euphonium.
euphonium gang 👏😤
@WustyWab yes they do . Go to the internet you can find trombone music sheet for kind of famous song. And for me I have to use trombone music sheet for a very long time. But of course it depends on your perspective.
Euph squad
My band literally has 5 euphoniums so this song was perfect for us, especially when they put one of us on trombone part, gives our band a big, dark and rich sound.
2:44 The saxophone and horn counter-melody gives me life.😭
I play the 1st horn part and we'll be playing this in March for Indianapolis
I love the clarinets in this.
Our middle school band played this last year at ISSMA and we got 2nd place.
This song NEVER gets old.
I played this in my middle school all state honor band, and it was 3 hours away, with no band teacher, and nobody I knew. The band and conductor was so great. It's just amazing to see how people can become friends and bond over the great aspect of life music. I cried during the oboe solo
that trumpet solo though, played that in my sophomore year in highschool
I played it in eighth grade. I cracked the octave jump a lot in rehearsal lol
+patriots20002 You have to sound very convincing in order to actually ace that solo. The demonstration in this song was very beautiful and elaborate, you can tell that the trumpeter really understands what he's playing, and that he feels it.
Im in 7th grade in wind ensemble and for both trumpet solos I get it for uil
+themustang58 Yeah i'm about to play that solo as a freshman. I wanted to see how it sounds professionally
+Andy Smith good luck!!! I'm gonna have it we have UIL second week of march
how many people r only listening to this song because they playing it for UIL.... that's why I looked it up now I'm just in love with it😍😍
I played it for concert band and marching currently. But I just love this piece cause of the horn parts
Just gave this song another listen. I remember when my director told me I going to play the trumpet solo and how excited I was. Stay in band it gives you memories and lessons that will help you in life.
Even after a year, I still listen to this. My middle school honor band performed Choreography for UIL, and I played 1st clarinet. Amazing piece. I still remember each note by heart. Beautiful!
playing this on clarinet is literally perfect 😍
I played second clarinet on this when I was in 7th grade (the band was made up of 7th-12th graders) directed by Robert Sheldon and I honestly think this is a real musical masterpiece.
playing this tomorrow! woot! trombone section! :D

Haha took someone long enough I thought he was gay but nonetheless really great composer
Where are all the percussionists at? (I played Timpani on this piece. So much fun!)
Favorite song I've ever played in band

Well, I'm in percussion, I play the xylo, vibes, and bells. So awesome.
I played this 2 years ago in 7th grade and now I’m in 9th grade so I’m in high school, and my middle school band is playing it again and its so cute!
Now, this is Robert Sheldon back at his game. This is the Sheldon's style that I knew from his Danse Celestiale days.
I absolutely love everything about this song! My band just got it and the bass clarinet part for this song, although not heard, is incredibly beautiful. I just love this song in general.
ikr bass clarinet is never heard😩 so sad
+Jasmine Miller Its a piece of music not a song.
+That Curious Artist Um, alright then, you can get off your musical high horse.
Got any tips playing this for a festival and we are going for a superior I play bass clarinet too.
the best concert piece EVER. SOOO much fun. snare drum all the way.
this brings back memories of middle school band. And my few second trumpet solo glory!
That trumpet intro is 👌👌👌
This song is very special to me because I had moved to a new school across the country in the middle of the year and this was the first song I played with them.
I just moved across the country too, and this is the first non Christmas song we got for concert band at my new school!!
Our Concert band is playing this for this year's SYF! It's beautiful :3
The blairs from the horn at 2:50 gave me ASMR
The trombone stuff in this piece is 💪🏼💪🏼
I played this freshman year. Im in 11th grade now and still listen to it

Trombone squad
First time playing timpani in my life and MAN is this song a bitch to start off on lol.
I did the same thing! But I was in 6th grade.
Dude, when we played this our timpani player had broken his arm, and he managed to play the whole piece with one arm. It was the most amazing thing I've ever seen.
Phil Callis This is my second song that I've ever played on timpani and I totally agree 😂
This is Commemoration Overture were both super fun songs for Timpani at least, hard at first but quite rewarding after practice
We're playing this in allstate band and I got first chair oboe, and got the solo. So excited

I'm playing this for UIL too :)
me 3. I'm the Keyboard parts.
I get the solo tooooo
I'm the only 1st part trumpet for this piece but between the two solos I think the 2nd one is scary because it's just you playing and a baritone
omg i get such nostalgia from listening to thisssssss! my band played this is 7th grade and it was absolutely the best time of my life. i had such good friends who are in high school now and we would always wave at each other during concerts and stuff. i remember during our uil performance, we just kind of look at each other and smiled, prompting all of us to do our best
amazing piece!
Im in band at Manatee high school and It's humbling to go to the same school and be in the same music program Mr. Sheldon was in. He just wrote us an amazing new piece called resurgences for our centennial. He has also written another one for us a while back called Manatee Lyric Overture it is also very pretty
damn, I remember playing this in Honor Band for trombone, my lips started to hurt everytime I'm on a hard part of this song.
It was an honor to play the first part and that trombone solo.
The trombone part in this piece
Our Symponic band is playing this.. Oh goodness... It's amazing..
i play french horn and i dont think ill ever play it this fast!! too much pressure for a freshie in high school who's only been playing for 1 1/2 years!
we are playing this in band this year for festival. I thought we weren't doing well, but after listening to professionals I realized we are doing rather well.
Beautiful Trumpet solo for the win!
I played this song in my 7th and 8th grade years of middle school.fun song!
Played this my senior year in high school. First chair trumpet player all the way. One of the best solos I have ever played!
So happy that the tuba part gets something OTHER than just normal baseline through the whole song! Playing this in 7th is kinda easy yet hard XD
I performed this with our community band. I have since left the band, due to moving across the state. I miss the high caliber performances and the great music I performed with them. I am hoping to soon get into another community band of the same caliber as the one I had to leave.
This piece is so beautiful. It makes me cry to hear it and remember how much I miss my friends in band. As a 2nd trombonist, I had a lot of fun with this piece.
Good song, played this back in 9th grade in 2012
I love that blue devils used a part of this song
Played this senior year, go percussion!
I come back to this song every now and then, one of my favorite songs to play my Senior year, Percussionist
Amazing job! I am playing this for my spring concert on trumpet. :)
Our band teacher has just announced, on the last day of school, that we have one term to learn this piece for presentation night at our school. I love the song, but I am a clarinet 2 player and I have the solo for that song. AHHH! :)

Awesome
I Love the melody
Im SO EXCITED i get my first solo my god the oboe is amazing
AMAZING TRUMPET SOLO!!!!
I played this song at a music camp, and Robert himself came and conducted it and taught it to us.
The staccato parts remind me of a TV news theme, where they use that kind of rhythm to simulate Morse code.
Man, I hope people who say they played this in grade 7 started in like grade 1 or something, because our area starts at grade 6 and our high school senior band did this piece.
Well here we start in 7th. Our second band played it my freshman year
Our first band plays stuff like angels in the architecture
We started in 7th. 8th/9th graders played it with ease
During the trumpet solo, the 5th chair player has to play it, because no one else can. And btw people, he's a freshmen, and so are most of our soloists. Age does not matter. How good you play matters.
I love oboes :D the solos are fantastic in this song wow
I loved the trumpet solo at 1:40. So beautiful
my middle school honor band is playing this in UIL and we OWN this piece
My middle school played this and we got sweepstakes. Go saxes!
that oboe is LIT.
😆
Mahari Johnson we dont have oboes. So we had a clarinet play it. And a flute alternate
Wonderful piece!! I'm also playing this for UIL! Wish us luck!
