I hope fans around the world support the line, so many years we been asking for this and sadly I already see too many complaints for such minor details, I really think price point is fair enough for what we are going to get, even though I am an international buyer.
I am so happy to get this toy line, even though i am in the uk and can only pick these up via online comic stores. My battle cat is arriving tomorrow Yayyyyyyyyy!!!!!
Hope the scalpers don't kill the line before it gets going. Going to be hard for a new gen of kids to get invested if they can't find them on the shelves. This line in particular is clearly meant for kids.
The Stores exclusivity like in this case is what sadly feeds the hunger of the Scalpers. I'm sure I'll never get a single piece of this line in my Wal Mart
considering how well the ww eternia figures are doing and the nostalgia of parents wanting to pass on the toys to their own kids I know the line will do great
It kills me how Mattel created this line and forgets his tail stripes. I see alot of people complain in the comments, but remember these are for kids to enjoy he man like we did when we were kids. I feel so lucky that i am able to share this with my son, something that was such a huge part of my childhood and i don't have to worry about my vintage or classics being broken.
Hi Dan 👋 bit of trivia from my magazine publishing days- in the back of the box, where the characters are shiny, but the background is matte ? That’s called a ‘spot varnish’. Anyway, cheers for the video- really looking forward to these dropping in the UK
Funny thing though Dan, I went back and watched your power-con 2019 video, when they all displayed Battle Cat at the table, the gentleman who was talking about him, went through all the articulation points, and never mentioned ankle articulation, and NOBODY questioned it then, and now everyone is complaining!! They were too excited for the look of it, and nobody asked or requested it, so Mattel never really got to hear feedback from fans during that time.
After seeing it at my store here in Victorville California, I finally picked him up and I love it! It works with classics and 01 and now I got the new origins He-man
Thanks so for making these videos like these! Hearing your excitement and optimism really helps right now with all the craziness going on in the world. I also super appreciate the comparisons and swapping of vintage and new toys to get a great understanding. That last photo of Prince Adam resting on Cringer was just perfect! LOL!
Scalpers will be scooping these up and reselling for higher prices until their official release date. Have some patience everyone, especially with Walmart, and don't pay more than they retail for.
These new figures are awesome but I hope we get the vintage look head for He-Man and a closed mouth Skeletor in the Battle Armor or some other variant.
9 months later they're still doing it. Went to target to see if they had restocked MOTU stuff, they had, buti saw a guy grabbing literally every figure.
I have to say that I absolutely loved the MOTUC line, but if Mattel had just updated the vintage figures like they are doing now, I'd have been perfectly happy with that. I've always wished that the vintage MOTU figures had more articulation, and now my wish has been granted! I really like the glossy clear paint applied to the eyes, makes them look alive even though the only other paint apps are black dots.
I really want these toys now and I hope I could somehow get them when their up on Walmart.com for the first 2 minutes they are available. Scalpers are ruining this and I really want these figures now and I hope I can get them even if they are Walmart exclusives. That means there will only be a few of the Sky Sled/Battle cat along with the other figures besides He-Man and Skeletor in stores. BUT I REFUSE TO BUY THESE FROM SCALPERS NO MATTER HOW BAD I WANT THEM! If people keep buying them and can't resist waiting, they'll keep hoarding. Help me buy waiting PLEASE! I am a diehard He-Man fan and I really want to buy these!
Great post, scalpers wont bother if they cant make money, so stop buying from ebay people, and also do better Walmart and Mattel, you both have sucked so far
It just suddenly hit me, with the WWE MOTU figures they have now, they need to make a mount for Roman Reigns...yup that's right, they need to make a "big dog" for him to ride lol
The original battle cat was one of my first He-Man presents that was under the Christmas tree. He was much smaller than this one and his arms didn't move. It looks like the saddle and the helmet is larger , I dig it !
Even with the lack of articulation, it looks awesome! A new chance for those who couldn't get the Ultimate version, and it's a good addition to the origins line

He is an incredible figure, though I am totally in agreement about the ankles.
Yep. Just a shame their mentality has spread to even reusing whole toy lines. Really underwhelmed by this line. If the longevity of the classics line is any indication, what this property needs is something truly new. Not glorified version 1.5 figures that are neither reissues, nor something totally new. I will fully concede that both the sled and the cat are awesome.
I love seeing your videos, haven't gotten any MotU toys in ages, but still enjoy these. I remember seeing the promo for the original battle cat, recognizing it as the same as the Tarzan panther I had so I grabbed a Taun Taun saddle, some rubber bands, and had my instant stand in Battle Cat to tide me over until I got the real thing.
Looks awesome. Recently added this guy to my newest heman origins figures collection for a really great bargain price of only £15. I remember having lots of heman stuff back in the 80s,all the castles etc.I just wish I had kept it all and not sold it all off at boot sales for cheap. Great review Dan! As an aside, the shiny character printing on the packing is often referred to as a spot varnish. Extra care and attention on the packaging design, to me speaks volumes as to how Mattel are approaching this line .
Both cats & figures made an awesome & cheap display. Minus the flocked fur for panthor. Missed out on. Super 7’s. But I’m glad I didn’t miss orgins. Some super 7 still available. Like he-roe. Very cool dude for the castle. Just seen yours Dan. Havent collected my loot pile. Still waiting on vultron. Lookng forward to Brian’s shiny paint
I just picked this up today from my local Walmart. It has the international multi language star on the front, but doesn't say " New for 20" in the upper right hand corner. I saw others on the same shelf that were the US version with the 20 logo, and the boxes were slightly larger overall 🤔
Great review Dan! They really missed a great oppurtunity by not having ankle articulation. It'd be cool to at least get him in the OG pose. Every time I see the MOTUC beasts it reminds me how bad, or at least how much I'd love, a 1/12 scale articulated animals line.
I knew I had to UA-cam pixel dan MOTU origins battle cat review because I wanted to see a comparison with the classics one and boom there it is!! This origins battlecat works perfect with my super 7 ultimates he-man very well! No need to pay 250 or 200 $ for classics one lol
The art on the front of the box is flat-out a recreation (or homage) of Rudy Obrero’s original art on the vintage Battle Cat box. This is an outstanding vintage-meets-modern version of him and I could imagine how much this would blow me little mind when I was like five.
Why didn't you show the new Battle Car with the original version's armour and also show one of the collector versions (such as the anime version) sitting on the new version of Battle Cat? Some of us with the larger Heman figures can't get hold of/afford the classics BC...
My ‘Battle Cat’ box has one different feature, in comparison to the one in this video. My ‘BC’ box doesn’t feature the “New for 20” Logo on top near Castle Greyskull. Other than that.., they’re identical (including, the multiple Languages).
Fantastic review Pixel Dan! I will say something sounded a little off about your voice. Not sure if your mouth was closer to the mic or not. Anyhow, this was worth staying up late to see. I've got a Battle Cat coming that unfortunately I paid scalper prices for it. However, having one early does make the price a little easier to justify.
What toy line is the dark colored Clawful holding the red-ish skeltor staff from? I couldn't understand what was said. I don't think I've ever seen that before. I'm very interested in it.
