For my personal taste, this is the perfect car. Classy, classic, yet sporty and with great performance. The stiffness of the Targa design with the joy of an open roof, what a machine. This is the only car I would need.
Really nice spec car. I love that green. I think of the Targa as more of a touring car as comfort is a big factor over the cars in the GTS range. The 350 pounds is a bummer though.
@@carhoney Loving the car. Literally best car I’ve driven including Ferraris and Turbo S. I can get the emotion, noise, etc. without getting arrested. Happy Camper 🏕️ Im planning a trip up the coast to Carmel, maybe South Bay during the break in. Looking forward to more of your content. Greetings from OC.
@@aaronpacillio8189 congrats Aaron! We feel the same way…just finished reviewing a 488 Spider and really looking forward to getting back in the GTS. Carmel is awesome - we always stay there for track days at Laguna Seca. Enjoy it!
Would love to get an update on your 992 Targa 4 GTS after another year of ownership, and see how your feelings have changed over the last year. Pros/cons, still planning on keeping it, opinions on the MT, etc.
I have a 992 C4S coupe with PDK which is a first for me, as all my previous cars were manuals. I find that I really like the PDK and I agonized over it when I was designing my build, but I’m happy with my decision. I would have loved to have had the opportunity to order a Targa GTS like yours, however! I just had the allocation that was presented to me and took it. I really like the 992 platform and find it to be a great street car with the low end torque. I still think the GT4 is a lot of fun with the manual transmission and it feels more nimble, but the wife definitely likes the 992 better! She isn’t a fan of a bucket seat with a fire extinguisher attached to it. Congrats on your car and keep the content coming.
Congratulations! I selected the Matte Side Skirts too. After seeing your video, so glad I did. Mine (‘24 911 Coupe) arrives in under two months. How are you liking the car? Did you get rear steering too?
@Car Honey nice I was gonna head over to Burlingame, but I like to hear from others that they've had good experience.. That's half the battle! Great vid!
My 2022 Cayman GTS is a budget freindly alternative with 6 speed manual sounds better and is 5 inch shorter then the 911. I could almost get two of my car for your Targa but that Targa is amazing and maybe one day I'll trade up to the more prestigious 911.
An AWD Targa GTS is not designed to be as hard, aggressive, and sporty as a GTS coupe; that's not the point of it. Also, the owner has a LOT more restraint than me following the full mfr break-in period.
It is truly not an issue at any speed. There is of course more wind noise at freeway speeds but it’s not a buffeting that is noticeable. A lot of reviewers brought this up but they didn’t have the wind break extended.
My perfect Porsche. Can't get a Targa with the Turbo S motor, but you also can't get the Turbo S with body color wheels and the Targa just fucks so hard Also, I can't believe you didn't get colored seatbelts! I feel like the Agave Green or maybe even Truffle Brown would've gone really well with the exterior/interior color choices
I was thinking the same. The brown interior/brown top goes perfectly with the aventurine green. Alternatively, an all black interior/black top goes with the aventurine green. That beige dilutes the umph.
After owning this for 6+ months I can definitely say this is the perfect daily Porsche. If the 992.2 gets an NA motor, depending on HP and which motor, this will definitely be traded in for that.
Quick question, how did you order the Mojave beige interior but still got the gear shifter in race Tex? My advisor said the steering wheel will be race Tex but the shifter will be in smooth leather. Thank you for the great video!
I looked at my build and it doesn't look like I had to select an option to keep the gear shifter in Race-Tex. I'm pretty sure this is the case ONLY if you spec the GTS trim. S and below are likely leather only. I did make sure to select the GT Steering wheel in Race-Tex though. Hope this helps!
@@carhoney so no other recommendations? My Build that I am finalizing includes exclusive manufacture interior, premium pkg w remote assist, 18 way adap seats, front axle lift, rear axle steer. No to PDCC
Tony sounds like a great build! Are you going PDK or Manual? If PDK and dailying it at all I would get the premium package like you did. PDCC would help if you want to drive aggressively but not necessary if street only! If you really like music the Burmeister is better than Bose, albeit quite an expense...
@@carhoney yes - PDK and it will be a daily drive subject to weather. Yes - street only so I am glad you agree with not equipping with PDCC. As for sound I was told Burmeister was better can’t justify the difference. Final question - night drive option. I have asked Porsche about it but not a lot of information. Comments?
@@tonymanning3218 I think it is probably a waste of money really. I had a dealer salesman tell me that as well. I just couldn't justify that cost for something I don't even know when I would use.
I like manual transmissions in general, but Porsche’s PDK is so good that it makes it almost a tie for me on what to get. I flipped back and forth a few times when ordering the car but am really happy I went with manual. I would be really happy with PDK but would likely miss the manual.
I agree, that would’ve been nice to have. Despite it being a GTS, Porsche seem to have positioned it to be more “practical” than the other GTS models. It didn’t get the upgraded chassis, only comes in 4wd, no attempt at extra weight savings to offset the Targa Roof, etc.
A manual shift is ridiculous. Who wants to take one hand off the wheel when driving a Porsche ? It's dangerous. And stick shift is way slower than a PDK. Everyone will beat you at the lights.
Lol dude wants all the rawness of a 11. But are you willing to pay that sticker price. It’s always funny how when people buy a Porsche they complain about the money amazing.
You guys are talking crap about the "non-availability" of PCCBs of this model year. The only reason for it is the war in the Ukraine, but not "COVID". Period.

The agate grey on a targa is also very sharp
to open your frunk, swipe your palm horizontally underneath the porsche crest. the sensor is in the bumper not under the hood.
I have a 992 Targa 4S. Carerra white with red/ black interior. I was like you...suprised with power....and quietness w top down. Love it!!!
Great Spec Tom!
Absolutely stunning vehicle, this almost the perfect spec for a 911, I would opt for the Pdk but other than that it’s perfect
Thank you MJ
Great Video. Looking into a Targa myself and great points. Can't beat an open roof experience.
Totally agree - I think you’ll absolutely love the Targa, especially if you don’t need a full up track worthy Porsche.
The Targa GTS is my favorite. I have a 991.2 and a 24 992 in Aventurine green. Both manuals. Fantastic cars and very fun and engaging to drive.
Really nice spec car. I love that green. I think of the Targa as more of a touring car as comfort is a big factor over the cars in the GTS range. The 350 pounds is a bummer though.
Definitely Agree!
Perfekt car and choosen options/colors for me too, appreciate that Griffin is a honest guy
Thank you!
Great Job! The 992 GTS is very special. Would be great to see you guys film PDCC impressions.

Beautiful car. Just FYI for the frunk opening gesture it helps to swipe your hand horizontally across the badge instead of vertically like you did :)
Thankfully, you got the proper transmission. Great video.

What’s the “chassis upgrade” that the cab and coupe GTS gets that the Targa does not?
I'm in sf and looking to get the gts cab. Did you guys grab this from Porsche redwood? Would you recommend them?
Yes I did! Redwood is great, we also got a GT4RS from them. Go talk to Tony Abiog there and tell him Chase sent you.

The Cayman GTS is a fantastic car and certainly “budget” compared to the 911. There’s almost no compromise with the 718’s either.
The Cayman GTS is an awesome car! I don't think Porsche makes a sports car that is anything less than superb!

Targa question - truthful answers only. How is the wind buffeting. Around town. On suburban roads (40mph). At 50. And highway.
It is truly not an issue at any speed. There is of course more wind noise at freeway speeds but it’s not a buffeting that is noticeable. A lot of reviewers brought this up but they didn’t have the wind break extended.
