    Targa is 100% best spec for a 911-- rare(ish) and gorgeous. I'm a Boxster guy (fits my golf clubs), but love this car! Full props to you for your winter top-down Miata. I owned a gen 1 back 30 years ago and it never left the garage unless the roof was down. Same rule, now. with my Boxster.

    • @MarekDrivesENG
      @MarekDrivesENG  Рік тому +3

      I just realised 911 is not a golfer's car. Hell, I can fit a bag of golf clubs in my MX-5 trunk (3rd gen), but in a 911 it would be difficult.

    I usually don’t watch any Porsche car review because it is unaffortable for me. However, I know Marek could present in a different way then other youtuber. So I watched it and indeed very informative and interesting, thank you for the good work. Wait to see you get 50k and 100k subscribers.

      Thanks. I appreciate that you watched even though it's not a car you're looking for.
      One year after the channel split the English version seems to be performing as expected. Fingers crossed I'll see 50k by the end of 2023.

    I suspect most 911 Targa customers don’t buy the car with the intention of doing launch controls. What’s the point of them, anyway ! (apart from having a bit of fun). You said so yourself : you buy a Targa for its looks (and its performance if and when you need it). Leave he drag race stuff to the Turbo S and the forthcoming GT2 RS. And even those probably won’t be used all that much for launch control purposes on open roads. It seems more a gimmick than anything else 😎

    Hi. I know this is a 10 month old review. But how comfortable is the suspension in normal mode - especially given some of the bumpy winter roads that I saw in your review???

    • @MarekDrivesENG
      @MarekDrivesENG  10 місяців тому +1

      It's comfortable for a 911, not particularly comfortable by general car standards.

    good to know that winter even with a 4 is not daily ideal.

  • @laupakhin
    @laupakhin Рік тому +1

    If I had the means I would definitely get a 911. Somehow Porsche keep improving it every generation (well except the change to turbo maybe). That launch time in the cold and wet is absolutely insane!
    That centre cup holder position seems a bit odd though - if this was manual wouldn't it be in the way?

    • @MarekDrivesENG
      @MarekDrivesENG  Рік тому

      The central cupholder is (AFAIR) an option which can be replaced with a key holder or an ashtray or something like that. And yes, it would obstruct gear change in a manual car. Remember Bad Boys?

    Did you get the roof fixed easy enough? Had the same issue constantly - ice or no ice

    • @MarekDrivesENG
      @MarekDrivesENG  Рік тому

      It just needed to thaw. Porsche says the mechanism is very delicate. In my MX-5 3rd gen (the one with folding hard top) I'd be careful at -15 degrees C, but this was at barely -5.

      @MarekDrivesENG Thank you! If you say so, I believe you. I would rather spend 5K on some other features if you think that there is not much use for RWS with AWD. In my build, I already added 18-way car seats and noise canceling car windows.

      Nice, stealthy spec. Me, I'm a sucker for colors, but I appreciate the elegant simplicity you're goring for. I don't know where you live, and how you're going to use the car. I'd always go for the manual, but if you're going to be stuck in traffic a lot, then PDK is the obvious choice. Night Vision - did you choose it or was it added automatically with something else? Again, I don't know where you're going to be driving your 911, but I don't recall night vision being more than a gimmick in all the test cars I've driven. That being said, some of my viewers, who a lot of night back road miles say they feel safer having it. I guess it's better to spot a moose sooner than later.

      Perhaps not. The clear plastic rear wind "screen" on my Boxster has not had that issue in the last decade of ownership. Zero bugs.

    • @MarekDrivesENG
      @MarekDrivesENG  Рік тому +2

      @alliejr I think he was talking about bugs getting under the rear glass dome. Hard to access, etc.
      BTW, did you know the 964 had two washer fluids? Regular one, and a highly concentrated one for bugs (of course dispensed with a separate switch).

    I think you could have tried harder to fit in the rear seats Marek. Come on bro... you're getting the big bucks to make it happen. In your acceleration launch you should have a camera on the fuel gauge. LOL
    There's another dad at my youngest daughter's school who put his child in the rear seat of his 911 and I think that's why his kid is a 15cm shorter than all of the other kids her age. She grew to the size of the rear of that car. Just sayin' I think they should have a warning sticker.
    My answer to all Porsche is 718 GTS 4.0.
