Absolutely LOVED IT! Wont build an automatic pro street style car without it now. Its just as fun as a manual, but no clutch time slowing you down. I havent heard anything about line pressure.... Shouldnt be any different than a normal transmission you just tell it when to shift, rather than vacuum modulate telling it when to shift- basically.

Man that is one sweet-ass Nova! I am a life-long Chevy guy and my favorite car of all time is a 69 Chevelle. It was my first car although I didn't have it very long.. Now in my old age I am playing with a 64 Ford Fairlane and it has its qualities. I am pulling my hair out with Cold Start issues which is how I ended up on your vid..

They are pretty good. I have heard that they can crack if you get them to high temperatures and high power. But for 340hp you will have plenty of room. I'm pushing almost twice that power and haven't had an issue. My car also runs at about 200* and has 14lbs of boost. You'll be good. All your power is in your heads, do the best you can to get them as nice as you can, with the budget you're working with.

Went to a carshow today, 2 blown Novas which were here last year burned it up. One had a blower just like that. If I can upload vids onto comp ill getem on here
I dont run a choke either lol but in the cold weather it can be a challenge to feather it til she warms up. Can be something to do with float level and air/fuel mixture too. I had to adjust mine a few times to get it to start this nice ha
Damn thats alot of power out of iron heads on low boost! This car is 652hp on 14lbs of boost, titanium valves, built heads, comp cam etc. But then again, no replacement for displacement!
You needa tune it so u dnt hve to feather it at start its called crank vs coolant tht helps the car idle when started n not hve to press the gas

they made 882's from late 60's to 1980 so if you have a set made after 1975 the casting is not as thick as the older ones.so get a old set.i have a set that have been angle milled and ported and im running 225 shot of nitrous on them and running 10.70's with them

Yeah its a power shut off...... drag cars usually have them so if something starts on fire or you need to completely shut off the battery quickly, you can just hit the switch.
my neighbors tried to do the samething to me,i had a 1980 z28 camaro and 3 harleys and a 1975 3/4 ton 4x4 show truck. so instead of driving them around i stopped for a month and drove my daily driver and 10 pm to 1 am 3 to 5 times a week id go out and rev the hell out of it and peel out.they learned real fast to stop being so damn picky and shit during the day cause ill keep your ass up all night...lol.....now they dont bother me at all!

what the hell.... lol sounds like you got more issues than you think.... ha bolting on a blower is just going to make any existing problem worse. And high lift specs will cause your valve springs to bind, if you think its too high of lift on your cam, just get a new set of beehive springs. What lift are you running and what do you have for valve springs? Stock valve springs are fine up to about 480 lift....

with blowers you really don't need to do much, unlike n/a you don't need to find a way to get air in there the blower will do it for you, i have a bbc with iron heads just put bigger valves etc, runs great, alum is great but when your doing on budget, a little different most guys don't have 25k to spend on motor alone, i spent 8k on my bbc and made 948 on 5 lbs boost.
are the 882 heads any good? i'm about to put some on. i only want around 340hp out of my engine. will they crack at that?
cuz i want to do the same thing so im trying to see how much mony to save up

+Mark A Thanks! I actually do not remember the tire size, but they were 15" wheels. Rear end was a ford 9". Didnt have any tub work done. Had no front inner fenders. I bought & sold this car many years ago, so not exactly sure what had been done to it at that time. Good luck though!!

You do know a LS2 with the right cam & heads will make 650/650 hp/tq, and weigh 250 lbs less right?
Let people build what they want. I know ls motors are all the rage now,I have an ls2 in my Malibu but conventional small blocks & big blocks are awesome too, plus you can't beat the whine of a roots blower
Oh I see. Not cheap man. Its cheaper to buy one done. I just sold the car for 15,300, but then again when you buy a car you never know what you are getting. Atleast if you build it you know for sure what it has in it and how it will perform.
My N/A, 0 psi, single 4-barrel, big block makes 730+h.p., AND it all fits under a 2" cowl hood. 🤷🏻

lol right!! Titanium valves, 5 angle valve job, the goodies. They max out at about 800. Currently the car dyno's at 692 rwhp with a different carb tune/jet than is seen in this video

Its probably more somethin to do with your carb/choke than anything else.
How was the manual valve body on the street? I heard that full line pressure all the time on the street is bad.
Mine has had 0 issues for several years of driving all summer long.

What do you have for a cam and bottom end in that motor?
Comp cam. Its got forged internals and 8.5 compression pistons. The blower is where you build most of your power. The heads are where a lot of people lose power, so more were done to the heads than anything else.

I know there are many out there, but this one just has a lot of little things that are familiar....i.e.:the paint, traction bars, 650hp, the fact that you are in Isanti and Troy and myself were from Big Lake. Anyway, what city did you buy it out of? and how far away did it go when you sold it?
I was told someone else built it; he may have been involved, but I dont really know.... I bought it from an older gentleman in Wisconsin. I sold it to the owner of a security company in the Cities

I came across your vid today and the car was so familiar- then I saw Isanti, MN and just had to ask some questions. I haven't seen my old friend, Troy, since around 1996, and even back then I think he had said he sold the Nova (or traded it for an El Camino).
You could be correct! I guess i'm not certain, the guy I bought it from didnt know much about the car, so you could be correct. Its always intriguing though to think about all the stuff cars have gone through and that everything you sold or have owned is currently sitting in someone elses driveway (most likely)

Yeah, my neighbor is a jack ass. Called the cops on me at 3 in the afternoon because "My exhaust woke him up". I am free to do whatever the hell I want at that time of day. Plus the car has full exhaust :O Hasnt sold yet, but yeah, its for sale.
its not pristine lol rust in rear inner quarters. And its all about not driving it in the winter, and washing it consistently in the summer.

lol...but mine wont even start up period it takes bout 5min or more just to get it to spudder..ur s/charged atomizes the fuel goin into the intake more completely... some say im doomed coz my high lift specs!! i say no lol...look up dave vizard he's a master tuner he makes bblocks idle at 400 rpms!!!..o well guess i need a s/charger lmao?!

Nice car, but that thing looks like it will never hook up with that cookie cutter rear suspension. Also, take off that old ass blower & carb. Go Pro charger/EFI or Turbo/EFI. That's a lot of noise for very little horsepower in 2019. 650 HP?? I can do that in my sleep and drive mine 5 days a week to work as well.
