Gotta phase out older models a lot faster. 2 lines for 1st -> 1 Line for 1st car, 2 lines for 2nd car -> 0 lines for 1st car, 1 line for 2nd car, 2 lines for 3rd car -> etc...
Although I am horrible at games like this it is always fun to watch someone play them, especially when they explain it so clearly like you do. 2 Mechanics on a car (20:00) seems logical to me.. you know.. one on the right hand side, one on the left.
Games like these, just get me thinking of the old city builders from the early 2000:s "Masters fo Olympus, Rise of the middle kingdom, Pharao" plus it's also so meditative to play them I think :D
This is like the old DOS game Detroit. But I never thought I would see the 1885 Benz Patent Motorwagen putting (yes, it really goes putt putt putt when running) around in Motown. Different from what you see Benz driving around today. Yes that 3-wheeler was a real thing and considered the first automobile so I'm glad the game got the automotive history right.
Thanks so much Katherine! Excellent explanation of the game here! I just bought it myself and was confused about several things. You cleared it up completely for me !! I have subscribed and will watch all of your vids about Car Manufacture!
Thanks for posting your video! Before I release the car to the public, I let it build some hype in popularity (like 30000 or 40000, if i can go higher then great) so people are foaming at the mouth to buy the cars. Heavy marketing. Hard to do with the first model though. Also while I'm waiting to release it, I'm building cars so I have plenty to sell. It was in the help section about it, I saw you could potentially charge more as the car gets popular.
The Benz motor carriage was pretty much a horse drawn carriage with a small 1-cylinder engine bolted onto the back of it. Produced something like 8 horsepower which was pretty revolutionary for the time as that little engine could replace a team of 6 or 8 horses. But due to the cost only the wealthy could afford them.
Paint shop you have to go to the first station to change the color, it’s the triangle tab in the lower right corner of the car you’re producing. Color does not affect price.
Would be cool if it did affect both the production (the whole thing with black Ford T was about reducing drying time) and the cost/price. Blue metallic, for example, used to be super-expensive option when it was first introduced as it was made with the grinded fish flakes.
In 3 days I have logged 38 hours into this sim (it is very addicting). One thing that folks need to know is you don't want to sell cars at cost (100%) or you will only break even. The math. If your car costs $600 dollars in parts, using 120% (cost + markup) will total $720, and net you a profit of $120 per sale. I've seen a lot of players make this crutial mistake in the early game, and can bankrupt you quickly. You only start with $10K so use it wisely because there are a lot of expenses in the early game.
The number of mechanics working on a car depends on the number of parts needed in that production step. Each mechanic can transport and install one part. For each step, the game creates one job for each part and searches a mechanic for each to do it. For things likes wheels this can go up to four in one step. According to the devs it's a bug that salesman can work for multiple zones. Might also be a bug but if you move a saleszone after building it, you can put it right next to another. The game doesn't tell you this but if you build stations right next to each other, longer cars are going to block the station behind them and nothing gets built there.
Does the factory actually scale well into more modern times? From what I've seen here it doesn't seem like there's a whole lot of space to make giant modern assembly lines.
Re: salesmen, maybe add rest chairs for the salesmen so they don't walk so far away when they're on break? And paint, another YT'r I watched got the paint booths working but didn't see any affect on sales, so maybe paint color demand will be added for the release game.
After playing this game for few hours, I can Def see the potential for it to be a great game, but atm I have some big issues that need fixing ASAP and that doesn't make any sense at all. - there's little to no difference on sale numbers if price on car is 120 vs 250% -there's no need for fancy production lines because it takes barely anything to produce the cars at faster pace then they can be sold, even with all the promotional stuff and car salesmen at lvl 18. The limit of only being able to sell 5 different cars at a time is stupid beyond believe, and makes absolutely no sense at all. I could see the argument for faster production lines then what you can sell, if you could sell more types of cars at once then you can produce, but makes no sense with that sale limit. -interface need quite a bit of work, and it's tidious to set up and change production lines. For one example, you should be able to clear orders and sell everything on a robot with a single button. -there should be a select all button so you could feks send all workers of a type to training at once, and be able to adjust salary on all workers on same skill level at once. -there's no option to change your mind when the car name is set, and when you have clicked the new car discovered, tvers no way to Check what all your other cars named, so can get confusing to keep track. -there should be a way to lock the repair shops to a single car type, so you don't block Chain if all of them is stuck with same model in it. Atm I find it just too easy to max out production, get all cars researched, and with everything else mention you can get few hours funn out of it, but I'm Def done with the game for now, and wanna wait and see what the devs gonna do with it, and if they can fix those core issues
Um... Encore is actually the name of a real life model (Buick Encore) :) Looks like a fun game.... enjoyed Production line quite a bit --- even played it as late as last year. Might have to give this a try.
I really dont know if it's a bug where the salesmen just stand there while customers are waiting around before they leave? I was thinking, maybe there are no cars actually ready for sale but there's been a few times where the cars are sitting in the parking lot but my salesmen were just standing there lol I then went bankrupt. In my mind im thinking, maybe theyre window shopping? I've turned off the bankrupt option before you start a game. There's just no way to play with it enabled.
I disagree that its impossible, and am proving it with this playthrough. You just have to be really careful with funds, etc. But I do agree that the salesmen act really weirdly and seem buggy
I keep falling asleep watching your videos, not because they are boring, but your voice is so soothing. Can you sound more like a hag so I can watch the whole video
Its not delting the parts, only the order for new parts, which needs to be changed. They will continue to use the parts we have, unless it is a different model, and then I sell them
Well, thank goodness youve come to this video to see an educated optioning. Its not a rip off, plays completely differently. Im really addicted to it; its really fun.
Gotta phase out older models a lot faster.

looks like a great game. Also I think the salesmen are the ones standing around the display cars.
I love the look of this game. Thanks Katherine
Just purchased it on steam because of you!
Enjoy!
Did you read the reviews? Not looking good for it with suggestions it hasn't been updated for ages.
Looks like a fun game. Glad to see the Rabbit Republic logo included!
Games like these, just get me thinking of the old city builders from the early 2000:s "Masters fo Olympus, Rise of the middle kingdom, Pharao" plus it's also so meditative to play them I think :D
Agreed! I miss the old tycoon games!
@@KatherineOfSky Me to! oh, I would love a remake on the "Masters of Olympus" game! AAAH
Yeah, I loved that one!
Looks really fun, looking forward to more!
Thank you for this video! 😀🌼🌼🌼

Wow, Ive never gotten that high of a popularity on any car.. that sounds like an insane wait

Ive noticed the longer car thing in ep 2.. thats a big unfortunate, since there isnt much map space in teh beginning of the game
There was an old game I played called Detroit. This is more what I thought the game would be.
I played Detroit back in the day!
"Abandonware" websites have that game ...good times!!!
Does the factory actually scale well into more modern times? From what I've seen here it doesn't seem like there's a whole lot of space to make giant modern assembly lines.
max upgrade 20 assembly lines
You can buy more land

I have. The rest chairs are in the breakroom which is next to the entrance door.

I noticed that a lot of the dice names are real models.
thanks looks good grate extra tutorial too....Car Manufacturer gate missing at end of conveyor??????
seems like they haven't changed much since the original demo and that was a good while back
Milwaukee has a harbor instead of the Train station :)
Cool! Ill play that one next time then!
It looks like that you have paused the second production line for sol.

Omg, Production Line was how I found you 😂🦆🦆🦆
How cool!
I keep falling asleep watching your videos, not because they are boring, but your voice is so soothing. Can you sound more like a hag so I can watch the whole video
lol
at launch price 200%
No, they have discounts at launch
What´s wrong with the sales guys? They seem to need a lot of time between sales.
Instead of deleting orders why not sell them
Its not delting the parts, only the order for new parts, which needs to be changed. They will continue to use the parts we have, unless it is a different model, and then I sell them
Pretty much a rip off of Production Run. However, from the Steam comments its suggested this is vapourware.
Well, thank goodness youve come to this video to see an educated optioning. Its not a rip off, plays completely differently. Im really addicted to it; its really fun.
Should have stopped producing the 1st car and focus on the other 2.
Nah, it worked perfectly well!
Your KOS icon is blocking the money in the bottom corner. Is it movable? Do you care?
I can move it, for sure. Ill do so in Ep 3
this game is so disappointing...
Why do you say that?
SELL @ 400% THEY ALWAYS SELL
I know.
