Bro im sitting here eating Swedish fish after a night out getting drunk, I feel like a chump Update 7 months later: I've started Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai Eat 200 grams of protein daily Get Sunlight Read Write and hang around a well-connected friend group I've never been happier!
I haven’t workout at 4am in a while. I used to love that feeling of taking on the whole day knowing that I’ve already trained. It was also a good feeling when you seen people absolutely dysfunctional at 7am and youve already been up for 3 hours battling some demons. Warrior instincts
Yes when I first started doing it, very tired, I’ll even finish work sometimes at 5pm-6pm and sit on the couch and pass out with no recall on going to sleep in the first place. But over time you get used to it, and your body adapts . I’m normally in bed by 10 pm, it’s around 8pm I’ll put down my phone, do some house chores etc. Routine is also important because if your not consistent with times you can find yourself at starting phase ie tiredness or fatigue, when it comes to getting up at 4 or going to bed at certain time.
Got 16 hours in the day to train. No way in hell I'm getting up before dawn to prove a point. What the hell are you people doing all day? Do you work 12 hour shifts?
@@ph-vf5hx l got 3 kids and I started my own transport business so I lack on time in the day, so it’s suits me to get up 1 hour earlier to get one in. If I’m running late at work it’s nice to know I’ve done my morning workout and not to stress about it in the evening. Plus family time is way more important so I like evenings with them.
Seeing someone like Jocko get their work out in in 28 minutes at 4 am gives me such an inspired feeling of “you can do this” even if I’m only riding my exercise bike for 15 minutes at 5 pm
It's a start deuce, make it 20 in a week or two and keep working your way up. Gained so much weight when I nearly died from heart failure and recently sepsis; lost 30 lbs last year and 25 to go just get after it. The only person that needs to care is yourself but there are people out that root for you and men in general.

People don’t understand how fulfilling it is to wake up early and get shit done. Once you do it, it becomes a habit. Even if you simply wake up to do a few stretches, and an ab workout. It builds discipline. Not only discipline, but good habits. That good habit leads to another, which leads to another, and then leads to another. It all compounds

I don’t know about you, but even with the same amount of sleep waking up at 5am to do a brutal workout is harder than 10am to me. Early morning workouts take sacrifice and discipline, so do other workouts, but there’s something about grinding before the suns up that just feels different 😂

Thank you Jocko for the encouragement. I used to get up at 4:30am to work as an apprentice electrician in San Clemente. I would workout in my room for about 15-20 minutes, and then pack my lunch and leave. I had to do it because I wore a tool belt, carried ladders, 500ft rolls of wire, etc. I got let go since the job was finished but now I want to start again. Thank you Sir for the courage.

If I wake up that early I better stay busy because the moment the very moment I sit down and take a break past noon I'm falling asleep. If I woke up like this more than once I'd be needing 2 days rest and recovery.

I personally weightlift and box, and I get sleepy a lot more than when I only weightlifted. But after a nap I’m ready to continue with my day. I'm with you on that. Everyone is different but I find that doing your workout later during the day allows you to shower then eat a massive meal & just go to sleep. Nutrients + sleep = recovery💪

That's what I like about being in the Marine Corps you had PT at 05 the ncos would smoke check the platoon for about 45 minutes to an hour and then take an hour to go get cleaned up get yourself some child and get back to the shop that physical training that you did in the morning makes you feel so good throughout the rest of the day I mean other Marines and other military that work like that don't know what I'm talking about.
