- Little Griddle SQ180 did the job on a great breakfast.
• Started with 3 eggs, pork roll, homemade bacon and Prime NY Strip breakfast cut steaks.
• Used my Little Griddle SQ180 Universal Griddle for gas grills. Formally the “Sizzle-Q”.
• Placed the Little Griddle on my good old Weber Silver gas grill, turned the burners on high to bring the temperature up to at least 350 degrees.
• Started with the homemade bacon and over did the first batch because of too much Bloody Mary’s! LOL. Second batch was perfect.
• Put on the pork roll and then the eggs, once eggs were almost complete, I put some Boars Head White American cheese on top.
• Pulled the eggs and finished the pork roll. Then added the NY Strips and did them quick!
Summary: The Little Griddle is a very inexpensive way to have the convenience of a griddle without getting a dedicated propane griddle like the Camp Chef or Blackstone. With living in Pennsylvania, I cannot use this all year long.
The Little Griddle worked great for converting the gas grill into a flat top! Breakfast was excellent!

I purchased some diffusers for my stovetop on Amazon and placed my Little Griddle on my stove! I works like a charm my griddle now lives on my stovetop! 😊
That is pretty cool! It is a really solid griddle and cleans up nicely! Great idea! Cheers!
Pork Roll and Scrapple brings back memories of the years I spent in Bucks County!
I am not a big fan of scrapple, but I used to help family butcher and I always got the scrapple for my parents. I am lucky enough to be in PA Dutch country and have some local butchers that still do it the old fashion way! My son in law and I just made our own venison sausage and will probably have a video coming out in the next month or so! Thanks for watching! Cheers!
I say oh heck ya! Looks good. Bloody Mary. hahaha😝. Breakfast looks good and yes, better than a diner for sure! Great cook brother!
Cooking With James Thanks James! This was a fun day, we actually shot 3 videos on this day and the Bloody’s were a kick start! Have a good one brother!
Greg Awesome Breakfest .... Every thing you could want for breakfast .. Looked delicious ...Cheers 🍻
1984 BBQ Thanks John! Yes, it was a great breakfast! My favorite meal of the day! Cheers!
Man... this makes me want one of those things. Nice job Fellas!
SDSBBQ Thanks Dash! For me the Little Griddle does a nice job and does what I need it to do in the warmer months!
@@beers-jackofbbq Yeah up here it's hard to have an open Blackstone so I've been thinking about a little one like that
Love the video! Funny that you keep calling your husband the cameraman haha. Cheers from TX
LOL! If Jack were my husband, we would have been divorced long ago. Jack was actually my wife’s boss for some years and that is how we met. He is into photography and I like to cook and thought this would work great! So far so good! Glad you enjoyed! Cheers!
Thanks now I'm starving!
Better go get my frying pan going
Whats better than a nice fat breakfast in America?love it.
Ray D Yes, not a whole lot of healthy involved with this cook! It is low carb! LOL Thanks for commenting!
GREAT!,, now I'm hungry............... ((looks great))
Ba Bill It was great, you know a like a little breakfast! LOL This one was breakfast and lunch!
Nice video, but may I suggest you buying a Blackstone griddle? You won’t have to keep coming back and forth, and you can control the temp.
Pamela Green One day I may get one, but for now, I don’t think I would use it enough. I cook on my grills all winter, but I don’t think I would cook on a flattop during the PA winter. The Blackstone is great, but this griddle lets me do some basic flattop without the expense of the Blackstone. Thanks for watching!
After the cook, how far do you go to clean the griddle? I want to do this badly but the cleanup scares me off. How do you store it when not in use?
KSMike1 I just use a stainless steel scouring pad and some soap. I have a sink in the garage and it cleans up pretty easy, but it has a little weight to it. It came with a cover for storing, but I just use the box it came in to store it. Let me know if you have any other questions and I will gladly answer! Cheers!
Beers-Jack of BBQ thanks sir!
KSMike1 Sure thing!
Looks great. I have the same grill you do, and a griddleplate for it and have also noticed its a bit of a bother getting it up to the right temp when really cold.
Lasse's Food and Barbecue Yes, we did a video in February and I had it very hot for a stir fry and once I started opening the grill, it lost temperature quick. But, it works great for 1/2 of the year. Actually why I got this, I grill in any weather, but do not see myself using a flat top all year, this works for what I wanted it for! Thanks for watching!
@@beers-jackofbbq, remove your flavorizer bars when using this griddle and the temps will be more where you want them.
@@hesser6448 That is a great tip! I appreciate that and it makes sense! I actually gave this to a buddy of mine, but he has the same grill and I will let him know! Cheers!
Looks good to me, nothing like steak and eggs in the morning
Bud-man GR It is a great breakfast! You know the cameraman was very happy!
Did a great job.nice .how much did you pay for the griddle
MrTOMMYLEE6969 I paid $47 on Amazon. Just looked it up and it is now $60, here is the link amzn.to/2UcXhqf They do have some other sizes, but this worked nice! Cheers!
Mmmmm....bacon
Ray D Nothing like the homemade bacon!
Good cookup. Fix the handle on that Genesis lid!
Jon Thanks for watching! Unfortunately the lid broke during a storm about 16 years ago. Still works, LOL!
How do I stop food sticking to this griddle
Hard to say without more detail? I have not had any issues with anything sticking. I always put something on this like ghee, cooking spray (Pam) before putting anything on it, even when I do bacon, I will give a quick spray. Let me know what you are doing and I will try to help! Cheers!
@@beers-jackofbbq I’ve only just bought this after watching your video. I have used stainless steel pans before and found so many foods seem to stick so I assumed this can be overcome. Will mainly be used for breakfasts and burgers.
@@Wayneh58 Hopefully trying with spray or ghee or whatever you choose will work out for you. For what I have cooked, I have not had any issues! Good luck!
Way you not clean your bbq ?
Thanks for watching! This grill is about 20 years old and does get maintained well, but did get used hard for many years. If you are talking about the griddle. That does get washed before each cook. Appreciate the support! Cheers!
BTW... it's Taylor Ham LOL
SDSBBQ LOL! I grew up on Taylor Ham! A couple of slices, some white American cheese and yellow mustard on a roll is still a great sandwich!
What is pork roll?
Hard to completely explain, but if is a fatty ground cured pork. Sliced up it gets nice and crispy when fried like we did! I want to say it originated in New Jersey, they actually have festivals around pork roll! LOL Cheers!
@@beers-jackofbbq sounds like SPAM😜
@@Planzman1 Minus the can and the gelatin not too for off. LOL But better quality.
I like to think the first batch of bacon got burned because they're all hungover and drunk :)
We were not hungover, but those bloody Mary’s were very strong! LOL Thanks for watching and thanks for the laugh! Cheers!
@@beers-jackofbbq its always a good watch. Just got a little griddle myself, you're teaching me a lot.
@@donniejep5745 Thanks! It is a nice griddle!
@@beers-jackofbbq its going right on my stove.
Howdy from Texas…what the heck is pork roll? SPAM? Bologna? Canadian bacon? Never heard of it. What does it taste like?
GreasyGrits LOL! Pork roll is basically ground fatty pork that is lightly smoked. Some in the area will call it Taylor ham. I guess you could compare it to SPAM, but more dense. Thanks for watching!
Dude...clean your griddle! I made that last statement after watching for a few moments. I now mean it more emphatically than before. I enjoyed watching, but...I think I'll make my own breakfast.
Thanks for watching! What you missed was when we started the cook we actually over did the first batch of bacon and when this started, it was batch #2 as we showed the over cooked. The grill does get cleaned with soap and water in between cooks. You could also see that the griddle was scrapped clean before we did the pork roll and eggs. Appreciate the comment as I never notice how we started the video and could see how you thought I started with a dirty griddle! Cheers!
Talking about cross contamination 🤢🤮
I had to watch this again, to understand what you were talking about. I saw when I picked up the steaks and then flips the pork roll. I usually have multiple tongs out for this reason, but I honestly don’t remember if that happened on this cook! Thank you for pointing this out as I try really hard to never make an error like that! This was shot over 2 years ago and you were the 1st to point that out! I do go through gloves and utensils to never do this, but I appreciate you making my aware of this! Cheers!
Hey 👋
Thanks for watching! Cheers!
