Making progress man, Craig Reynolds says he STILL struggles with Stray songs, and he recorded them. It might take years to get certain fills or parts down, so dont give it up. It took me 5 years before i could easily move a paradiddle around the kit with dynamics.
If that is a mesh head on the Kick drum, you should not be using the felt heads. Plastic, Rubber, or preferably Aluminum would be the way to go. The Felt head will actually wear through the mesh head.
It's worth it if you pass the audition!

The fact that you left all the mistakes and shit in at the final playthrough at the end is something I appreciate very much, most youtube musicians or musicians otherwise would probably just edit out the mistakes, A+ for transparency and giving it your best shot.

As a drum teacher who is learning to play guitar, I gotta say I love watching a guitarist learn drums. Not bad! I'm impressed! Your double bass needs work, but hey, so does mine! LOL
This is so badass dude. I love it. This album is what got me hooked when I was 13. I tried to buy this album at a used cd store with $8.99 in pennies, nickels, Dimes and quarters. Guy behind the counter couldn't accept that amount of change (couldn't fit it into the register) so he gave me a business card to go to his nearby bank to cash it all in for bills...and I was able to get the used copy of Vulgar. I've been playing drums for 41 yrs and I have to say Ola you have a natural gift of groove I wish there was technology like stem splitters when I was learning songs instead of actually listening to the song 100 times thru blarring headphones Now at least you don't have to pay a drummer to play on your solo stuff haha 🤘✌️😎🧐

I remember Nigel Kennedy (violinist) saying once in an interview that You need to be playing on the edge of Your capabilities or else it's not fun/worth it/sincere attempt (can't remember exactly, sorry). An instrumentalist needs to verge on the brink of failure while playing - that was the message. I certainly felt that with Your take, Ola ;)

There needs to be an ability to "like" a video more than once. Killing it bro! - I'm a guitar player myself, and every 'difficult' song i've tried to play on drums ended terribly. Your level of dedication, and the pure look of concentration is something I can relate to when I play drums.
I can bullshit my way through Stinkfist on drums - that's about as far as I can go on drums. I love the high-hat/snare switch ups on that song so it's fun for me.
I would start with Accept "Princess Of The Dawn", but this is way cooler! Thanks for keeping the learning journey intact as well. We've all been there 😄

What is this? Just today I was listening to Vulgar for change and it really struck me how genius the drum parts to this song are. And you post a video about the song, and the drums in particular. Coincidence? Probably.

It's pretty great. The kicks are really tight in the beginning. I'd be unable to get to this level in such a short time. My legs "grow roots" as soon as I sit down behind a drumkit. They don't move as I want them ro😅
