Making progress man, Craig Reynolds says he STILL struggles with Stray songs, and he recorded them. It might take years to get certain fills or parts down, so dont give it up. It took me 5 years before i could easily move a paradiddle around the kit with dynamics.
If that is a mesh head on the Kick drum, you should not be using the felt heads. Plastic, Rubber, or preferably Aluminum would be the way to go. The Felt head will actually wear through the mesh head.
The fact that you left all the mistakes and shit in at the final playthrough at the end is something I appreciate very much, most youtube musicians or musicians otherwise would probably just edit out the mistakes, A+ for transparency and giving it your best shot.
YES, NEW OLA DRUMS!!!!! Don't get me wrong Ola, your guitar skills are amazing. However watching you slap your way through the drums really cheers me up!!!
As a drum teacher who is learning to play guitar, I gotta say I love watching a guitarist learn drums. Not bad! I'm impressed! Your double bass needs work, but hey, so does mine! LOL
Genuinely super impressive. You can tell in the performance at the end youd gained confidence in it, and thats the key! Confidence sells, not just to anyone else, but to yourself
This is so badass dude. I love it. This album is what got me hooked when I was 13. I tried to buy this album at a used cd store with $8.99 in pennies, nickels, Dimes and quarters. Guy behind the counter couldn't accept that amount of change (couldn't fit it into the register) so he gave me a business card to go to his nearby bank to cash it all in for bills...and I was able to get the used copy of Vulgar. The rest is history. C.D. Warehouse in Round Rock, TX
I've been playing drums for 41 yrs and I have to say Ola you have a natural gift of groove I wish there was technology like stem splitters when I was learning songs instead of actually listening to the song 100 times thru blarring headphones Now at least you don't have to pay a drummer to play on your solo stuff haha 🤘✌️😎🧐
This was like watching some sport at home, it hurts to see all the "behind" shots, yet you cheer on even if mistakes happen Ola, you sweet sweet Swedish man - love the content!
Nice work! This brings me back my teenage years learning this song in the basement. Still a challenging song 25 years later. I had no idea that Logic could separate tracks like that.
There needs to be an ability to "like" a video more than once. Killing it bro! - I'm a guitar player myself, and every 'difficult' song i've tried to play on drums ended terribly. Your level of dedication, and the pure look of concentration is something I can relate to when I play drums. I can bullshit my way through Stinkfist on drums - that's about as far as I can go on drums. I love the high-hat/snare switch ups on that song so it's fun for me.
I remember Nigel Kennedy (violinist) saying once in an interview that You need to be playing on the edge of Your capabilities or else it's not fun/worth it/sincere attempt (can't remember exactly, sorry). An instrumentalist needs to verge on the brink of failure while playing - that was the message. I certainly felt that with Your take, Ola ;)
You're getting there dude. Probably need to practice the ending a little bit, but it sounds pretty decent already. It's a tricky song for beginners, definitely. Bra jobba! Greetings from Norway! 🤘🏻🇧🇻
I would start with Accept "Princess Of The Dawn", but this is way cooler! Thanks for keeping the learning journey intact as well. We've all been there 😄
It's pretty great. The kicks are really tight in the beginning. I'd be unable to get to this level in such a short time. My legs "grow roots" as soon as I sit down behind a drumkit. They don't move as I want them ro😅
What is this? Just today I was listening to Vulgar for change and it really struck me how genius the drum parts to this song are. And you post a video about the song, and the drums in particular. Coincidence? Probably.
Dude, that's not bad! If I could give you a tip, it would be breathe! It's amazing how many people forget to when drumming, or hold it. It'll help heaps.
damn you made laugh the entire video man,but i have to say u nailed it pretty decent, that double kicking would kill me if i were behind that drums.thanks Peace
Try doing just the kick part alone then the rest of it alone then try the feet and the hands at the same time when you figure them out. Keep at it man!!!
From the maker of “Your Shit is Ass” comes the sequel “Ass for War”. Coming to a youtube channel near you. Sucha sick song, kudos for learning it Ola 🤘🏽🤘🏽
OLA......OLA....OLA...... MY BROTHER FROM ANOTHER GRANNY.... HOLYYYYYYY HOLYYYYYYY HOLYYYYYYY HELL GREAT JOB ..... AWESOME FOOTWORK.... NOBODY WRECKED A SET OF DRUMS LIKE VP....REST IN PEACE DIMEBAG DARRELL ABBOTT AND VINNIE PAUL ABBOTT

It's worth it if you pass the audition!

Nice to see, that I'm not the only one strugling with a new song
YES, NEW OLA DRUMS!!!!!
Don't get me wrong Ola, your guitar skills are amazing. However watching you slap your way through the drums really cheers me up!!!
Vinnie Paul"s Drumming is groovy but not easy.
Well done Ola.
Drums is hard. Respect for those that make it look easy.

Dude, I’ve been a drummer for over 40 years and that’s not an easy song for a beginner
WOW!!! You nailed it! Ola makes learning new things look easy.
I love anything Pantera related with you and it's cool as f to see you venture outside of guitar and show us your drum skills. Keep it up, brother
This was like watching some sport at home, it hurts to see all the "behind" shots, yet you cheer on even if mistakes happen
Ola, you sweet sweet Swedish man - love the content!

Mad respect Ola. The drums and I are not strong with the force at all. Well done!!!
Quite possibly the most relatable video I’ve seen lol

It's pretty great. The kicks are really tight in the beginning. I'd be unable to get to this level in such a short time. My legs "grow roots" as soon as I sit down behind a drumkit. They don't move as I want them ro😅

That's really good, Ola. Commendable that you're trying to learn something new. Getting that coordination right isn't easy. 😓
Ola we need a Guitar Gear video on that dean V.. Eric Peterson model or whatever it is!!

Try doing just the kick part alone then the rest of it alone then try the feet and the hands at the same time when you figure them out. Keep at it man!!!
Love the Frankie ♥️
I fucking love Logic.
From the maker of “Your Shit is Ass” comes the sequel “Ass for War”.

Ola need's to learn some old school classic bolt thrower on drums like anti tank,IV Crusade, for victory etc.
Good Day Ola !
Hey Ola, I'm looking to buy some decent electric drums to learn on - do you recommend that kit or would you buy something different, given the chance?
You should check with Samus, I’m not well rounded in this area. But he’s trying a lot of different kits. He would know!
