I have looked at so many tutorials and as I knitter I was getting very frustrated that I could not figure this out. This was very helpful! Thank you!
January 5 2024: Just discovered your channel for the temperature blanket and downloaded the PDF. Your instructions are so clear and especially the position of your camera. Your detail is so appreciative for any level of crocheter. I appreciate how you changed the colors and carried the tails for a clean look.
Thank you so much! This was very helpful, and I'll be using this stitch and method for crocheting over the ends of yarn as I create my first temperature blanket! I also purchased your Temperature Blanket Guide which is wonderful! I'm a bit late to the party but my yarn should arrive this week. With your tutorial, I believe I'll be able to catch up in no time. Thank you again!
Thank you! You’ve taken the mystery out of the moss stitch and made it look easy.
Thank you so much for your very clear and thorough video on crocheting the moss stitch. I just started crocheting a temperature blanket which requires me to do color changes a lot so your guide on how to do that is super helpful. And I love your technique of weaving in the ends as we crochet. That's what I was trying to do too but with your guide, I now know the right way to do it. Thank you so much. ❤
Beautiful stitch! It would be really helpful (for us beginners) if you could zoom in with the camera a little more, like some other tutorials do.
I zoomed in myself so I could see better. I didn't even know it was possible.
Thanks for the video!
This is the stitch that I am using for my 2023 temperature blanket
Thank you so much for this video! I’ve watched a few moss stitch tutorials now, and this is the one that finally made it click for me.
Thank you for showing how to crochet over the tails. 🫶🏽
You're such a good teacher, I really like your tutorials 😊👍❣️
That is a fabulous video. Thanks very much❣️❣️❣️❣️
New subbie, my granddaughter asked about the temperature blanket and I never heard of it and found you. Great tutorial, so easy to follow. TFS
Thank you for this video. I am a beginner and decided to do a temperature blanket starting in January. I was really nervous about switching the colors but now I learned how to change colors, how to do an accent color and now I know the stitch I'm going to do. Thank you so much! I will send WIP when I get started.
So glad it was helpful, can't wait to see your WIP! And thank you for the kind words!
Beautiful ❣️ 😊
Thanks for the video! I was struggling with yarn I was carrying over showing through... I didn't realize I could catch it in both rows! Should solve my problem for some plaid placemats I'm making!
Great, thank you 😊 ❣️
Thank you so much for showing how to weave in the ends. I've been wanting to work the moss stitch but was intimidated as to how to do it and not have the ends show or peak out. This was a great tutorial. So glad and grateful I found you!
Also really looking forward to your video on that gorgeous blanket you showed us in the former video too🤗
Yay thank you so much! That pattern will be released on my blog next Tuesday, stay tuned! ❤️
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I found the other tutorials on this stitch confusing. Thank you for clear instructions. I can't read patterns. I am a visual learner.
Can you apply this technique of weaving in the ends on a single crochet stitch as well or only with this stitch?
What is the purpose of first stitch always going into 4th chain from hook to start
Then all future starting rows only have chain 2
I noticed you do this often
I’m sure you have a very logical answer but I just can’t figure out reason
❤
Thank you for your time
What brand yarn do you use? I’m going to attempt my first temperature blanket soon! Total newbie here to yarn!
How are you turning the work to begin new row ? Upside down or left to right or back etc ?
👍👍👍
I need some help. I know we chain an even number of stitches. Then we crochet the first stitch in the fourth chain from hook. If we’re starting with 254 chains, should we have 250 stitches in each row. I want to make sure so I don’t lose or gain a stitch. Thank you so much! You have great videos and I love your packet in your Etsy store.
How do prevent the ends of a blanket from being wider due to crocheting over the ends this way?
Why the 4th loop on the 1st row only? Not every tutorial does it that way, and my knitting and crochet group wanted to know why as it makes no apparent sense.
Do you find that the edges are thicker / bulkier than the middle if using this technique?
I've noticed in my personal projects such as blankets the bulkier edges are negligible and the trade off of not having to weave in any ends in the end is worth it to me. But, if you are making a sweater or some sort of wearable that needs to fit you might not want to do this technique (which I do share in the video). It's all about personal preference.
OK to use cotton, or is yarn required?
Hi Mirage! You can use whatever yarn you'd like! I think Peaches and cream cotton would be lovely!
Cotton, e.g. Peaches and Cream.
What colors and type of yarn are you using
I'm using a worsted weight acrylic yarn. It scraps so I don't remember what exactly I used! Likely Red Heart Super Saver or Big Twist Value.
when you cannot even do a slip knot
Thank you si much for weaving in the tails, especially on the back side.
