Glad to see you back. I was wondering if you have seen Dave Stephens' (Stephens Design) UA-cam channel "SD Pickups." He seems to be going down the black hole of chasing the PAF sound in duplicating/manufacturing all things connected therewith (pickups, bridge, saddles, etc.). I think he must be up your way in the northwest. Cheers.

seeing ZZ Top live in 75 is what made me want to play a Les Paul and that's from a kid who grew up learning to play on his Dads 62 strat ,, yes i still have it
I have a 1956 Gibson GA40. I found it at my dump/recycling center. True story. The chicken head knobs were missing…but, they had put four 50s Les Paul knobs on it instead. Score!
My first tube amp back in the 70s was a Traynor Bassmaster. I was playing in a few different bands. One was a Neil Young tribute band and one, long before the White stripes or black Keys, was just me on guitar and vocals and a drummer. I plugged the guitar and mic into the Traynor and it ripped. I think I had a whole 2 pedals. A fuzz and a wah. And a good SG copy. 2x15 cab. Weighed more than me. Carted it around to gigs in my '69 Polara 500. Those were the days...

If Mr. Bonamassa visits with you again, please ask if he'll bring Lazarus and share about it. Last but not least, a buddy of mine recently purchased a used 2020 Gibson Historic Reissue R0 'Burst. Best LP I've _ever_ played. Maybe one of the best electric guitars I've ever played, and I've played a few lol. He brought it over and we plugged it into a wound-up 50 watt Marshall. Duane, Kossoff, BFG, Peter Green, Dickie Betts, Jimmy Page, all of it, all there for the asking just by adjusting four knobs. Simply astounding.
