- Get ready to fall head over heels for this extraordinary chair makeover! What's truly remarkable about this project is the chair's incredible structure and "great bones." Instead of overpowering its natural beauty, I've opted for a paint finish that is clean and simple, allowing the chair's innate charm to shine through. Drawing inspiration from the timeless elegance of Swedish painted furniture, I've set out to honor this piece by creating a look that seamlessly blends in as if the paint had always graced its surface. Join me on this journey as we celebrate the art of preserving and enhancing the inherent beauty of furniture. #chairmakeover #simplicityisbeauty #swedishinspired #honoringthepiece #timelesselegance

LOVELY!. I restored antiques for 25 years, someone asked me " Doesn't it bother you to see all the UA-camrs painting old furniture?" I said " Heck no!! they breathe new life into something destined for the landfill, I've seen to many gorgeous pieces end up there, and us restorers just can't save them all!".. I told another UA-camr the other day, you all worry to much about those who type negative things like what to paint or not to paint, how to paint.. can you just imagine some "know it all" telling an artist like Leonardo da Vinci how to paint the Mona Lisa's smile or Michelangelo on how to paint or mix his colors to paint the Sistine Chapel??.. just leave people alone to express their art the way they see fit and shut up.. sorry..LOL.. but it's true!
This chair should be in a museum . A coat of Shellac would make a restoration to the wood in the future quite doable
How about hitting the thumbs up 👍🏽
Beautiful! The chair has such personality!
Very nice results. Wonderful de harmony of colors and patine. Thanks for this inspiring project.

Jonathon, I totally agree with your opinion on leaving the ornate features of this chair alone, without embellishment. That said, I love the dark wax application as it highlights very subtly. Great job, as usual, Jonathon! Thank you for sharing your lovely talents!!

Excellent!
I can honestly say I have never been tempted to add gold or other metallic accents to anything I've painted or refinished.
Yes, it’s very rare for me to use any metallics, probably because they just wouldn’t of been there on certain items
Beautiful! I wish I had such ideas of mixing paints...
I think the best thing to do is just experiment you’ll learn so much, especially if you make mistakes 😆
That is stunning in its simplicity. The color is stately and enhances the woodwork. It’s beautiful.
A bathroom redo sounds good.

Gorgeous! But looks painful as a seat...what will you use it for?
Yes, I think these chairs were definitely designed just for show. It may just sit in the corner of the bedroom looking pretty
What color did you used in the price next to the chair
I have significantly better luck using a toothbrush to create flyspeck.
Jonathan I love your approach to this chair, opting not to overdo the decoration on the chair with various paint colors. It came out beautiful!
