Thank you for uploading this Arc relatively early when you didn't have to. Hope you make a review or what if regarding Dragonball Super Superheroes next year. 👍
@@ox_trueprotagonistchrisred9085yeah there is the moro arc, the granolah arc, and the super hero arc. (The broly movie happens in the manga continuity as well, I think its after moro) But the moro and granolah arcs havent been animated yet.
My thoughts exactly! I also like how they gave him the super saiyan 3 touch with the eyebrows since they completely skipped it in the series. Fun fact; I've read once that Vegeta CHOSE not to learn the third transformation because he saw the energy gets depleted too fast and it's a weakness in his eyes. Hence why he surpassed Goku in SSY 2 form when fighting Beerus the first time
I prefer beggining of namek saga vegeta attitude wise lol i do love when majin vegeta power up laugh and tell goku "this is our fight! OUR battle" and goku starring back w no comment and a serious face..got chills lol
Like tfs would've describe it goku:Vegeta is doing vegeta's thing but now he's actually getting benefit from it Granolah: that actualy may make him unstopable knowing him
I like the idea of Goku needing to use ultra instinct in base form and make it natural and easy. It reminds me of his concept for improving on Super Saiyan in the Cell arc. Instead of pushing himself constantly when transforming, he gets used to the power until it becomes natural as breathing, allowing him to make the power truly his own.
I absolutely love the Bardock reveal. Even Vegita remarks this planet as judt another in the history books, but Bardock being the reason the planet survived adds so much to the duality of sayain heritage and the theme of not being held down by thr past
@@kampfh7150 Don't forget King Cold. Could he transform like his son? How did he given birth to such a powerful being in universe 7? What was his ancestors during the time of Yamoshi, Buu before being sealed, and Moro before being arrested?
@@UnwantedGhost1 King cold likely had that same potential as well but it never got brought out since, like frieza, he didn't see any reason to train when he was always the strongest.
Man, I love Carthu's style of commentary. He's so informative and entertaining, and his near encyclopedic knowledge of dragon ball as a whole is just the cherry on top.
Freeza not killing Goku and Vegeta is such a good moment. We've seen through the entire series that everyone Goku comes into contact with become infected with the same drive for fighting and competition as him. Now, although it's taken awhile, Freeza has gotten that exact same drive. He wants Goku and Vegeta to get stronger and to challenge him again, because he wants to prove he's stronger than them. Of course Freeza is still a villain, that's not changed, but it's really fun to see him pick up some of the quirks we've seen other redeemed antagonists pick up.
Probably helps that he knows killing them now will mean little since it's basically just getting a brief vacation back to a place they know well and have many options to get back their lives. I imagine if he's gonna beat them next time, he's gonna do it in a way that utterly annihilates them, soul and all.
it would be funny if frieza just existed as a character infinitely stronger than everyone else who just came in at the end of an arc, killed the villain, beat the snot of goku and vegeta, then left without saying a word like a chad
@@dankerbell it sure does seems like that, he has way too much potential, but it makes sense, Krillin was born with the power level of any human but with training I would say he is now at least as strong as Frieza in DBZ, how far can Frieza go with training?
The addition of Frieza in this arc was a brilliant move. He makes everything come full circle. For ex. its interesting that Frieza tells Elec that he only kept the him around for his own benefit, because thats what Elec also said to Granolah.. but for Elec's own benefit. Just go goes to show the savagery of Frieza and how eventually, doing evil, comes back to you Also the fact that Frieza actually trained to get his power while Granolah and Gas wished to be strongest and still got defeated. Just goes to show that cheap ways to get massive power ups will never surpass hard work or in Frieza's words "plenty of toil."
Frieza has already been beaten multiple times. Plus his black form looks weaker than the gold form. Don't care if it's more powerful, it's a crappy design. And if he gets killed he'll probably just come back, this show is like a boring soap opera nothing has any weight to it and it just keeps going.
Tbh, I'm absolutely in love with the idea of Goku tapping into his old Saiyan heritage and pride as a stepping stone to the next level of power. In fact, I think the series could really benefit from a deep dive into the Saiyan race and Goku connecting with it even more, with Vegeta almost as a mentor of sorts.
We’re so overdue for a class excursion to universe 6. I don’t see Vegeta ever resurrecting the U7 Saipan’s even if they’d probably be nowhere near as evil now. So I hope Goku and co do an arc visiting U6 and the Saipan’s there to learn about them.
For something like Dragon Ball, this was a really cohesive narrative. This was a really good arc with constant references and legitimate character progression. I can't wait to see this animated.
@Iceman yeah sure, you are just a kid who can't understand when an arc sucks, this arc is the biggest piece of dog shit, if you want to argue you can but i will destroy all your arguments fanboy
@@archonthaaproducer i have no comprehension skills??' bro iff you argue with me i will literally destroy you, this arc is the worst arc of all time, if you didnt understand that, you didnt understand nothing
It’s a little bit muddy but they need to bring this arc to life because the character development is what we’ve been needing and having Goku remember his time before Earth is something I’ve NEEDED to see for a long time
I unfortunately dont think things will play out similarly at all to the manga when and if its animated bc of all the changes in the anime already, maybe it can be rectified in the Moro arc but im doubtful
@@kokichiouma368why would they change an important plot point like goku remembering his past and that fueling his true ui though, when toriyama gave them the general plot points that was undoubtedly one of them
Actually neither this nor the Moro arc will be animated, the manga is owned by Toyotaro and the anime by Toriyama, and Toriyama (to the dismay of many fans) has decided to start something called "Dragon Ball Magic" or "Dragon Ball Magical" which will be canon to the anime and not follow the manga, you can look it up if you don't believe me
I'm really excited to see how this develops with Goku remembering his parents. I feel like this is what Whis has been trying to hint at with Goku, that he needs to accept his true nature and emotions in battle, meaning to let himself also remember his past. I also like to think the personality we see with Goku in the series, has always been his personality, hit on the head or not. Goku/Kakarot was always going to be considered a 'soft-hearted' Saiyan. He's like a perfect mix of his parents. He has his mother's kindness and merciful nature, but also his fathers conviction to causes he believes in and protectiveness of those who needs his help.
I'm not sure how accurate this is. When Grandpa Gohan first found Goku, he was basically feral. It was only when Goku got his head injury that he became more docile and could actually be trained in martial arts. Goku's personality is what allowed him to get this far, but it's not his true personality.
@@Thund3rDrag0n12so, ik this is pretty late to the discussion, but I believe that Goku's true nature was, as this guy says, a mix of the good sides of his parents, however he also needed the right upbringing to be a good person, which Grandpa Gohan gave him. As we see in the Broly movie flashback, Goku saw his parents and probably missed them, so kinda like human babies cry when they are separated from their parents, his inner Saiyan biology caused him to be wild, and it wasn't until he bumped his head and lost his memory that he was calmed down. At least that is my interpretation of the story with the context of the Granolah arc. I still think that if Goku was raised by the wrong person he could've turned out a different way, but Goku is the way is thanks to his upbringing from Gohan, but I also think he was always good and pure at heart.
Love how beerus is like: "Nah, I don't train others BUT if you follow me, do what I do, Ask questions and let me demostrate it for you, that's perfecly fine.".
I love how the "strongest warrior" plot ended up making such a big switch at the end of the arc. Gives the boys more of a reason to perfect their new forms
It also explains why Bardock was battle damaged in the Broly Movie. He immediately went to try and stop Frieza since he thought he was powerful enough after his zenkai boost
I honestly can’t wait for this Arc to eventually get animated. It definitely has some potential to be a top tier Arc in my opinion. And you’ve gotta admit that the Black Frieza Form fits perfectly with his character and personality more than Gold ever could.
I mean, it makes sense. Black is the colour he chose (presumably) because he likes it most/fits him best, whatever, but he only chose gold to mock super saiyan
I liked the plot twist where Elec was actually the weakest out of the Heeters. Usually, Akira Toriyama likes to make short people the strongest. For example... Vegeta was the strongest out of himself, Nappa and Raditz. And Frieza was the strongest between himself, Zarbon and Dodoria.
@Refrigerated Films I think it was worded poorly. My very generous interpretation of their words is that they meant Akira Toriyama made Elec the weakest like he always does, by making the smaller person stronger. The word "Usually" would at first glance imply that Akira Toriyama did something different with Gas and Elec, but it doesn't necessarily mean that the person who wrote that meant it like that. Still worded weirdly.
@alexandermcalister4942 the way I understand their comment, the short one is usually the leader of that particular immediate group, AND the strongest (vegeta, frieza, tiny kid buu being the "final form", etc.) And the fact that they actually split those factors this time around (Elec, big brained weakling leader, and Gas, the unchained muscle) is cool
Something I noticed. Whis didn't directly say if Frieza was the strongest and most assume he is because he beat gas but Frieza stated that he was training in another dimension so maybe it's a different character who has not been introduced
@@23madbertyhe literally wasn't noble though, he still committed genocide against a whole planet and countless others, having momentary empathy for one moment because he's been reminded of his family does not make him noble.
I actually love the canon interpretation of who Bardock was. FoG made him out to be sort of a stereotype of a Saiyan warrior only tangentially interested in making sure his son survived (via convenient magic) where the new version of the man is a much more layered and interesting person. I know some folks don't like the direction they took Bardock, but he's by no means a big ol softy like his son is. He's still your typical saiyan, but there's more there. His arc is very similar to Vegeta's despite his lifespan being considerably shorter overall.
I disagree. What made Z bardock so interesting is that he’s still a merciless Saiyan warrior like the rest, but he couldn’t help but fight for the right cause after things got personal, no matter how much bigger the coming disaster was than him, just like what his son does. Despite being such a small man, he’s the only Saiyan that got under Frieza’s skin.
@@FC_mania The only reason he is pushed to rebel is the future-sense that leads him to realize his team is at risk. Had that deus ex machina not happened the entire plot wouldn't. Bardock was a bum, written by a weirdo who thinks the OG Broly could beat Jiren in a fight.
@@FC_mania see the whole getting under freeza's skin thing is anime only for some reason toei decided to make him seem like he was freeza's arch nemesis while in the Manga freeza vaguely knew Bardock as some guy he killed a while ago.
''I couldn't revert to the callous, unfeeling man I once was. The god of power was beyond the scope of a novice like me.'' huge character development right there.
But now it begs the question: How will he make that power his own? In order to use it like a normal god, you need to be "callous" and "unfeeling", which vegeta admits that he can't be anymore. So will he drop the form, or will he try to make it his own thing?
@@jantheking7028Vegeta couldn’t use UE the best against Granola is because he still had doubt and guilt in him. Monaito reminds vegeta it’s not his job to carry the sins of the past. We’ve seen Vegeta go through many phases from entitled murdered to anti hero to family man. However Vegeta thinks he can’t find a balance between Family man and Egomaniac who’s loves fighting. But as Beerus said “destruction comes before creation” Vegeta must destroy this imagine of himself and make something new
I hope Granolah shows up in future arcs. I absolutely love his character and his design. If there were to be another T.O.P, he should definitely be on the team.
@@lucathedog242 they could probably use the Dragon Balls to fix the aging or he might just die after these events occur. He probably might be dead right now considering Super Hero takes place a few years after it.
To me, that was fanfiction level good. It wasn't just new characters. It was weaved into the lore, deepening old characters like Bardock and Frieza, while also deepening the logic of the transformations. It was emotionally deep too, full of betrayal, revenge, misguided sacrifice, and exploitation. You'd think this, and the Moro arc, were fanfictions, but it's canon.
I was surprised by the character development, unexpected turns and overall quality of the story. Did Dragonball Super get a new story writer or is it still Toyotaro?
@@TimmyTurner421 It's still toyotarou, and the manga always had such a high storytelling quality. Most people just didn't know because they only keep up with the anime. The Moro arc as well as the manga version of Goku Black arc are both genuinely amazing arcs as well, the DBS manga has much more storytelling quality than the anime. Not to say the anime isn't good, because the anime version of the ToP and U6 arc was much better, but the manga is better overall.
This may not be a popular opinion, but this version of Bardock is more well rounded than his previous counterpart. There isn't a plot hole it's just explained in a charming way
I like this Bardock's character development into a more merciful saiyan, but the development would be a lot more meaningful if he saw him when he was ruthless. They should've shown him destroying entire civilizations AND THEN turn him into a merciful saiyan, that way his change seems a lot less sudden.
@@ezraisaac2163 Nah, I think the opposite. The Granolah arc was the one and only perfect opprotunity to expand Bardock's backstory and personality. Although I think they did a decent job, I don't think we will ever see his story expanded on again in the manga. However there is still hope the anime may expand on it.
I actually like the name ultra ego, if you for a moment don’t think of ego as, self sure cocky attitude but in its original meaning. The sense of self, the ego is a part of one’s psyche, the part that focuses entirely on yourself and how to further anything for yourself. It cements vegetas personality while using it perfectly, battle, not caring about destroying the world around him, winning, it’s vegetas self drive and selfish desires pumped up to the max.
@@hunterstone2182my main problem is it’s the god of destruction form yet ultra ego sounds dumb and an insult meanwhile ultra instinct sounds like a compliment
I love what they did with bardock, I don't care for the wish but I'm glad they brought him back in and had Goku regain his memories by hearing his voice
My initial idea of Bardock was a man who tried to fight Frieza for his pride and to prove his people aren't weak. But I see now that he's a lot more. And I'm loving it. Even with the little bit here, you can see where Goku's heart came from.
@@ImrahilToChaosmy guy still doesn't change the fact Goku has bardocks blood and literally is his son , of course there are some similarities in Goku and bardock
Watching the lore drop about the namekians from this video being from another realm altogether after watching the first few episodes of Daima is insane
Bardock honestly here didn't feel too bad, he didn't kill 2 beings that were defenseless, mercy wasn't completely unknown to the Saiyans since even Vegeta showed some mercy back on Namek (to Krillin, not to the Namekians)
Ultra Ego is the best transformation Super has given us thus far. It technically gives us SSJ3 Vegeta with the eyes while also giving Vegeta a pathway to power of his own.
@@wasifchowdhury2004 simple, if i break your knees with a hammer but you get twice a strong, it still won't do shit because you're still fighting with a broken knee and i'm still gonna beat your ass with a hammer, the transformation's strategy is to literally get hit to get more power but by taking damage you're becoming less powerful due to the fact that you're taking damage
I like how what Gohan and Goku did in the hyperbolic time chamber is still his training bar. Achieving a new form is nice but being able to not waste energy to transform is always the goal
I have to give it to them Granolah's design is by far my favourite in the series. It matches his personality. The guy who traded his life for power should indeed look this cool.
I have to admit, I didn't really liked the whole Monacle on him at first, but I began to warm up to oatmeal later on. I still wish we got a backstory on oatmeal and how Granolah got it. Did he create it, find it, etc?
@@Danny-jc1vc The name is fine. I mean, we literally have characters named Piccolo, Bibidi Babadi Boo, Kale, etc. I think the reason that we didn't see more named Cerelians is because Toyotarou and Toriyama couldn't think of anymore Cereal/oat related foods lol. I didn't even know what Mezuli was until I saw that Granolah's moms name.
I do like this version of Frieza. He’s mellowed a bit. He’s like “meh, wanton destruction just doesn’t do it for me anymore. I think I should take some time and enjoy the finer things every once in a while. Maybe train a bit…my god that Goku was on to something with that one…”
This arc is really good overall. I like the fact that they delve deeper into the history of the saiyans and their planet conquering past under frieza all culminating in the consequences of the saiyan race coming back to bite goku and vegeta. having goku finally remember his past is such a nice touch. But then you have right at the end of the arc you have frieza show up the very tyrant who is mentioned all throughout the arc who orchestrated both the suffering and death of both the cerelian and the saiyan races and have always manipulated the heaters to his own goals and have it revealed that he is stronger than all of them just like he once was. This arc really hyped frieza up. In fact most if not all of this arc is really the result of frieza’s actions to begin with and he isn’t even involved until he shows up to KILL THE MAIN ENEMY EASILY. Frieza is definitely the favorite villain of the series by far and in all fairness is the only villain of the series where he actually EARNS HIS POWER BY TRAINING and not by underhanded tactics. He’s beating goku and vegeta by a fairly large amount and by his own hard work to stay on top.
@12Metatron and thats why this is interesting, he's developing as an antagonist. He's gonna be way harder to take down. I think he could become a God of destruction
Thanks for these videos. My kids a massive DB fan (I'm a lapsed DBZ fan from cell saga days as a kid) watched all of Super and the movies but just can't find the time to get through all the manga so these videos are amazing to keep our geeky chats going
so far this was my favorite arc, it tied together so much and gave us A LOT of lore. i feel this was the best one so far, way better then the Morro arc. this felt more organic as the story was able to flow so much better.
I really love this arc and how it brings up gokus past, I do hope one day he revisits his fathers armour while maybe fighting freeza for the last time and maybe meet bardock, wether in person or in a dream like he did with vegeta in DBZ during the freeza saga
@CarthusDojo you have a true talent. Never question it! Keep bringing to life these wonderful stories! So many people would miss out on the amazing adventures. You do a fantastic job of bring them to life.
I feel like "ultra ego" is the best name they could have given vegeta. since the whole idea of goku and vegetas training is to refine whis and beerus own versions of training specifically. goku goes the whis route, learning ultra instinct, and vegeta goes the beerus route, learning how to use destruction/hakai. which is awesome. i think "ultra pride" or something wouldnt have fit as much, ego is a big thing for vegeta since his birth as a saiyan, being told hes "the strongest saiyan" as a kid, and that carries with him for a long time. im glad they are making things come full circle. like piccolo and the dragon form/orange piccolo form. gohan going beast is almost like a "kai" kinda of route? if that makes sense. as well as obvious ones like broly going a sort of "saiyan" route.
There's a term called "ego loss" that's typically used when referring to people using tons of psychedelic drugs which causes people to lose their sense of self. So in a way you can think of ego as ones sense of self. There's even a portion of dialogue where Beerus tells Vegeta "What does that have to do with you?" (when talking about saiyans destroying civilizations) while he's teaching Vegeta destruction techniques. I think it's the perfect term for it.
You're the one channel focused on dragon ball that I really like, even though I normally don't care much for dragonball, your videos are just... good. Good enough for someone with vague knowledge of the series to really enjoy and learn about/gain a deeper understanding and respect for it.
i really loved this arc as it had an incredible amount of new reveals and filled a bunch of empty spots in the lore this really shows that dragon ball still has a long way to go
36:32, here whis says " maybe the strongest warrior emerged elsewhere in the universe" which means something has appeared, developed or come into existence in a different location or region outside the one currently being discussed or focused on and whis didn't said yes frieza is the strongest but he said that maybe the strongest could be someone else so it proves that frieza is not the strongest in the universe, but in my opinion it could be ultra vegito or gogeta.
The way I interpret the whole "I want my sons to thrive" wish, is that it just put them in a position to succeed. Like with Goku, the wish would have made Grandpa Gohan find him, and had him meet Bulma later, but not much else. I don't think Toronbo would be strong enough to immediately change Goku's future all on his own. Bardock did say sons, and we all know what happened to Raditz, despite him being lucky enough to be off-world when Frieza blew up Planet Vegeta, and be paired with a middle/high class saiyan and the prince himself. I think that because Raditz didn't improve himself, and just stagnated at the power level he was, he unintentionally fucked up the life Bardock wanted for him.
@@dandytv1510 well raditz is seem to be more favored just because he's the brother of the main character. but like nappa, they're a thing of the past now. the two antagonists of the saiyan saga should stay as they are
Something not a lot of people noticed. Gas’ wish specified that he would “remain the strongest” meaning that Gas was getting stronger as Ultra ego was getting stronger. The main point of mentioning this was that Freeza was so powerful, Gas’ body turned into dust trying to acclamate to Freezas current power. Interestingly enough, Gas got older after getting shot by Granola, which possibly means that Gas got older because Freeza had just re entered the universe. Basically, Freeza is so strong he nullified or outdid Gas’ wish condition. THATS BROKEN AS FUCK
Thats SOLID writing and a great interpretation, I thought the wish had to have some technicality in the form of the catch that with himself getting as strong as his opponent the freeza twist is Siiiiiick as Gases body literally couldn't comprehend his strength as he was outside the universe so it makes sense and I don't think it's a bad way to end the arc even though very convenient
Nah, that doesn't make sense. First of all, if Frieza had re-entered the universe just when Gas got old, then it would mean he somehow arrived at planet cereal in less than 5 minutes which doesn't make much sense considering it take goku like 1 months to travel to planet cereal from Earth. Also, if frieza re-entered the universe, it would've been in his base form, not his black form, so it wouldn't have powered up gas.
@@jantheking7028 Well, Frieza says he wasn't in this universe when Gas's wish was made... and the rest of the arc after Gas's wish was probably only a couple hours at most. So Frieza has only exited the room for a couple hours at most, at this point.
@@drunyon214 Well remember that chapter when Elec said "I have some important buisness to attend to"? That was when Elec called Frieza, so we can assume that Frieza reentered the universe at that chapter, which was before Gas turned really old.
I really love how in this ark i believe you can see the character development of frieza more. Not only is he now accepting to the concept of training, but also in the act of sparing Goku and Vageta, it shows that he is less evil than he used to be. Similar to the tournament of power where him and goku worked together (although that was mainly for his own benifit)
I'm 100% certain Frieza isn't "less evil", Frieza will most likely never have a change of heart. The most likely reason he even left Goku and Vegeta alive is to terrify them since he loves having a sense of superiority. That arrogance is gonna cost him of course though
I think the reason why Freeza didn’t kill Goku & Vegeta was payback. I don’t know how much time left Gogeta had, but I like to believe that since he didn’t kill Freeza, Freeza returned the favor. Although I do also think that he wants to humiliate Goku and Vegeta before killing them, so I guess it’s up to interpretation
After having been continually wrecked by ever evolving Sayians, and finding out that he can actually become stronger if he trains, they kind of become the bar for what his limit will be. He didn't even want to wish for power in the Broly movie, as he became content with earning it. I think he wants to see them get stronger now, just to see if he can still beat them.
I love how even after gas was the strongest, granolah was the only one who actually stood a chance against him 1v1 after he was at full power, excluding frieza ofc. I was afraid he'd get shafted, but he was capable of killing gas with that last attack but chose not to.
you are a blessing to the community, thank you so much for summarizing the manga arc in such a concise, well studied, well spoken and well animated matter. god bless 🙏 Although i got to note, that at times it was very difficult to follow, when lots of names where tossed in a single (fast) sentence, or multiple sentences, where lots of stuff happened, so i had to pause to truly follow the story (especially at about 27 something, where goku and gas fought).
Love that UI Sign was brought back its my fav. Looks like he's in his base form and it's more of a technique and less of a transformation, dominating by pure skill rather than power, similar to Hit.
I love that despite actually being the strongest warrior in the universe, Granolah's personality doesn't just revolve around his strength (Jiren COFF COFF..), the fact that he constantly dances between being good and evil makes him very similar to Vegeta. He has a very interesting backstory, and in a single arc he is having a lot of character development. TOP Tier character.
I remember going through a comment thread once and people were arguing on if Ultra Instinct was a technique or form…and I’ve always just said it could be both depending on who is using it (Whis - Technique & Goku - Form) but this just confirmed it. 🙌🏾
I was one of the rare ones who's been saying ever since CUI's reveal in the ToP that it was a technique at its core but that specifically Goku needed a transformation to use that technique because his saiyan body had to adapt on the spot to using an extremely potent and intricate skill that he was new to. I'd gone on to say countless times that he would probably eventually learn to use it out of his base state because the transformation was most likely what was killing his stamina. Aaaaaand I was unanimously downvoted to oblivion. This was also back when everyone insisted that Goku had "mastered" UI while the dialog and conditions of the form very obviously showed that it was only completed, not mastered. How do you think that turned out. Yup, downvoted to oblivion. Then Moro arc comes out and a lot of people started to get reeeeaaaal quiet. Then Granola arc comes out and everyone's like, "Huh? There was ever any question? Of course he didn't master UI in a 45-minute tournament!" It just kinda blew my mind how everyone was quick to forget about the form vs. tech and CUI vs. MUI arguments. I love the franchise, but I can't with this community sometimes
The arc isn't bad. I liked the Granolah character. He's different. I loved more Saiyan backstory involved. Vegeta learning more about Destruction power and gets a new form and knowing the concept of it which is awesome even if the name is silly lol. Bardock is a more layered, written character. Goku FINALLY has development to him that fans have been wanting so bad for with now finding out something about that part of his life (his Saiyan past) and hopefully he explores more about his family, especially maybe wanting to know about his Mother too. Goku also understanding what it is to unlock the REAL ultra instinct by using his Saiyan existence if that makes sense lol. One of the coolest shots is of Gas looking just terrifying. Overall the arc was good imo. I can take a lot of moments from it. I can't wait to see it in animation next year
It is bad. It makes all the effort and training the characters ever made completely pointless when they could just have wished to be the strongest. I mean who cares now Frieza obtained a new form. Goku or Vegeta can just wish to be stronger than him.
@@erikm8707 The wish eats up your lifespan in turn for giving you power. It's explicitly cheating at the cost of your own existence and only serves true at that exact point of time.

@@i_dont_hug_koalas I dunno man. With how easy Frieza swamps Goku and Vegeta in their strongest forms, Frieza might be able to knock Gogeta around.
The addition of Frieza in this arc was a brilliant move. He makes everything come full circle. For ex. its interesting that Frieza tells Elec that he only kept the him around for his own benefit, because thats what Elec also said to Granolah.. but for Elec's own benefit. Just go goes to show the savagery of Frieza and how eventually, doing evil, comes back to you
Also the fact that Frieza actually trained to get his power while Granolah and Gas wished to be strongest and still got defeated. Just goes to show that cheap ways to get massive power ups will never surpass hard work or in Frieza's words "plenty of toil."

I know, right?😂
Like, what?😂
Exactly lmao
Finnally Someone mentions it
That's the issue 😂😂🤣
Why is it an issue
Goku already accepted his true nature on Namek, when he became a Super Saiyan and resolved to defeat Freeza.
And raditz got the oposite lmao

@Refrigerated Films I think it was worded poorly. My very generous interpretation of their words is that they meant Akira Toriyama made Elec the weakest like he always does, by making the smaller person stronger.
17:00 No ways, Ultra Ego sounds dope af bro xD It's very "Vegeta" - I love that these two have their own "paths to power" as you put it
It’s stupid.
Thank you for making such an amazing content
You're the one channel focused on dragon ball that I really like, even though I normally don't care much for dragonball, your videos are just... good. Good enough for someone with vague knowledge of the series to really enjoy and learn about/gain a deeper understanding and respect for it.
i really loved this arc as it had an incredible amount of new reveals and filled a bunch of empty spots in the lore
this really shows that dragon ball still has a long way to go
Man, I precisely watched your Moro arc video last night, this made my Friday! Great content.
Glad you enjoyed!
Them not bringing Raditz back and giving him a redemption arc to become a Z Fighter is Toriyama's biggest mess up.
@@dandytv1510 well raditz is seem to be more favored just because he's the brother of the main character.

Damn bro good point man!
I’m so glad u did this video I’ve been waiting for this. I love how they introduced granolah this arc
This is like my 20th time of watching this video it’s jst too damn good I hope they continue the saga So u can make more videos like this 🔥
Same
I really love how in this ark i believe you can see the character development of frieza more. Not only is he now accepting to the concept of training, but also in the act of sparing Goku and Vageta, it shows that he is less evil than he used to be. Similar to the tournament of power where him and goku worked together (although that was mainly for his own benifit)
Because Goku is the only real challenge in the universe. Even Freeza won't piss off Beerus
Dude killed brolys dad it doesn't get any eviler then that 😂
@@TreyTruth619 he said less evil, not not evil
I'm 100% certain Frieza isn't "less evil", Frieza will most likely never have a change of heart. The most likely reason he even left Goku and Vegeta alive is to terrify them since he loves having a sense of superiority. That arrogance is gonna cost him of course though
Frieza seems exactly as evil as he always has been to me, there's simply more plot induced stupidity than ever before too.
Enjoyed the way this was told. Was able to have dinner and a nice story of the manga I never got to read. Appreciate the work you do Carthu.
Thank you for this! I’m finally catching up after the TOP. A lot has happened, new and stronger enemies.
@@blkspade23Freeza doesn't believe in cheap tricks. He may be a total jackass, but even the evil Emperor will not stoop so low
@@cunningsmile4166 He destroyed earth because he lost, threw Paragus under the bus, and killed all the Saiyans from a rumor
I wish Gogeta would’ve killed Frieza in the Broly movie lmao
@@TrunksRage seems like the perfect way to waste a good villain.
I love how even after gas was the strongest, granolah was the only one who actually stood a chance against him 1v1 after he was at full power, excluding frieza ofc. I was afraid he'd get shafted, but he was capable of killing gas with that last attack but chose not to.
you are a blessing to the community, thank you so much for summarizing the manga arc in such a concise, well studied, well spoken and well animated matter. god bless 🙏
Although i got to note, that at times it was very difficult to follow, when lots of names where tossed in a single (fast) sentence, or multiple sentences, where lots of stuff happened, so i had to pause to truly follow the story (especially at about 27 something, where goku and gas fought).
Love that UI Sign was brought back its my fav. Looks like he's in his base form and it's more of a technique and less of a transformation, dominating by pure skill rather than power, similar to Hit.
1 year later and we have learned nemekians come from the demon realm
I was looking for this comment lol
I mean they had sealing techniques, powerful against demons. Probably had plenty of civil wars.
I absolutely LOVE the granolah arc and i hope we'll see more of him
This will be amazing. The moros arc summary was great so I can’t wait for this one !
Granolah himself is an awesome character. I hope we get to see more of him eventually, also maybe get his life span back.
Yea I use to hate this character at the first start but since his backstory made me feel so bad for him I started being a fan 🙏🏽
Nice job, clear and concise. Im going to look for more content since i dont have the time to spend on enjoying it naturally. Thank you.
I remember going through a comment thread once and people were arguing on if Ultra Instinct was a technique or form…and I’ve always just said it could be both depending on who is using it (Whis - Technique & Goku - Form) but this just confirmed it. 🙌🏾
Yup, Goku uses it as both and Whis has it basically ingrained in his body
Man, I miss those days.. if only that break in the anime never happened.

I can't wait to see it in animation next year
The arc was phenomenal
Granolah is like Gohan

I love that gas was legitimately terrified of Vegeta for a second only for him to pass out inches from him
Yeah people tend to forget that Gas is literally a child lol
Like vegeta walked towards buu
Idk if it’s just me but Granolah kinda gives me Future Trunks vibes both with his design and also being the “last survivor” type character
I really dont like what the manga is doing, but think about if. What if Future Trunks returned after a few arcs, but as a villain? Maybe he became evil or manipulated?
I'm mentioning this coz FT was always my fav character even tho DBS screwed him
After reading through this arc again and watching this video, I come to the concluson that the Granolah Arc could be the most ingenious arc in Super unironically.
I Agree
