The final arc of the Dragon Ball Super anime was the Tournament of Power - a multiverse spanning event that tested the fighters of Universe 7 like never before, but it’s been 5 years since the Tournament of Power ended and a LOT has happened since like the entire Granolah Arc, the entire Moro Arc, Beast Gohan, True Ultra Instinct Goku, Ultra Ego Vegeta, Orange Piccolo, and even Broly training with Goku. So if there was another Tournament of Power, who would be on Team Universe 7?

That's only because People complain when anything off screen happens and we haven't seen any of them not train but would still be foolish to believe they haven't since the last tournament And if we have the other universes involved that were excluded that anything is possible theoretically they can just make everybody strong for the sake of it
I still think 17 is way too valuable to leave on the table. The infinite energy plus his penchant for barriers and defensive strategic combat is way too useful to drop for a relatively untrained Uub.

I agree! The fact 17 isn’t an absolute lock in his roster undermines his entire list. 17 has certain intangibles that no other character brings to the table that make him invaluable. The “team leader” role that Gohan failed to live up to in the first tournament of power was instead a role that 17 effortlessly and selflessly performed like a fucking boss. 17 is the rarest combination of not only fearless but egoless at the same time. He’s unshakable in battle remaining ever vigilant, pragmatic, and situational awareness that is never clouded by emotion. He is never seeks personal glory or validation, nor does he have a love for battle- for him personally and more importantly his role as a teammate makes these characteristics so valuable. He views the battlefield with a calm clarity only characters like Whis can do. His mind remains unclouded and unburdened from the emotions and egos that are often the other characters greatest strengths AND weaknesses. In the first tournament of power 17 was a mix between battle strategist and a first responder. Constantly aware of the changing situations, spotting vulnerabilities in their defenses and opportunities in their attacks, proactively coordinating and taking action whereever needed at whatever cost. Personally, after Goku and Vegeta, I think 17 would be #3 pick of MUST HAVE members on the team!

I see that. MUI Goku TOP >= Jiren at TOP. Black Frieza, Beast Gohan, Orange Piccolo, UE Vegeta, Granolah solo easily. Goku/Broly/Gamma could too. Merus after his nerf is a toss up, and it's crazy to think Uub solos easy if all the characters/powerups so far is *leading* to the End of Z, where Uub was evenly sparring Goku with who knows how many forms then.
You gotta remember that the old ToP was composed of the Multiverse's weakest foes. The high level universes were not allowed to compete. I'd say the average power level in the first ToP was maybe around perfect cell level. The fact that Roshi, Krillin, and Tien were able to compete and eliminate multiple fighters shows this.

@@jantheking7028 yes and no. Jiren was still considered the strongest mortal in all the universes, but that's just one person who surpassed the other 9 of his team immensely. Universe 1 is the strongest universe, so it could have 10 fighters that arent necessarily Jiren level, but all approaching that.

17 is the MVP and overall best teammate on the team. He was like the team's point guard and extremely intelligent and vital.
In the original Tournament yeah but in this one I doubt he'd be needed, honestly Beast Gohan should be enough to solo all of the other Universes unless Jiren and Toppo use potara or something and even then it may still be a very large gap from Beast to Jippo. Lol Jippo is a funny name, imagine an actual potara fusion of them Two.

Nobody said there would be another tournament anyway. But if there was, pretty sure they're going to pick the guy who won it for them. It's Toriyama's call at the end of the day and I'm pretty sure he's going to want to service the fans, not add some johnny come lately rag tags to fill out the roster. 93 others and counting seem to agree with me as well.

He never will be, and of course there most likely won't be another tournament that's why this is a theoretical idea, there's just better characters really, of course it's up to the show creator, oh wait no it's actually up to Toei since Marketing>Logic.
I am glad I don't like sports, is the biggest thing in my Country second to Fishing and I've never been a fan of people just kicking balls around a big field, its never been appealing to me, I have far more productive things to work on. And this isn't one of them as this takes out less than a minute of my day each time.
I think whats interesting is that Universe 11 likely won’t have Toppo anymore as a competitor since he’d probably be God of Destruction by then.

Problem is Uub can't appear unless a future Super arc takes place after the End of Z. Goku and Uub still have to have their initial meeting at the tournament, and introducing Uub any more than he's already done in the Moro arc would mess up continuity.
That 10 spot will always be reserved in my heart for Future Trunks. :(

Well, Freezer was actually dead when he participated last time (which was kind of unfair to the other universes😅) so I suppose Granolah could participate even after his death, with a halo. 😄

Well it didnt really matter if they were dead. They only had to get them eliminate. Plus while he was dead he could actually feel everything. So there wouldn't really be any difference

It's crazy that it has been 5 years, and there had been 2 long arcs, but the anime isn't back yet. I also think that they would absolutely not bring frieza unless pretty much forced to.
Ya, the first tournament was necessary to have him join to avoid universal destruction, but the next tournament will most likely be for fun. Giving Frieza a chance to win the super dragon balls seems like it's not worth the risk.

I still feel like a resurrected Cell would be hands down the best pick. The TOP is the literally the cell games but on a universal level. His potential is incredible, the fact that he’s on par with super saiyan 2 without a DAY of training is just insane.
Well he did train 1 day by destroyed a metoer and hit parts of the metoer rocks as part of his training
nah i think buu would be a massive choice here, if he absorbed opponents (witch aren't killed and can be spat out later) he could gain immense power. I think he definitely lands a spot in the lower 5.
and buus power boost from absorbing is much greater since cell caps out at perfect form

As long as the god doesn't intervene it should be fine. That being said a certain former angel definately wouldnt be aloud to participate so he would probably be the best bet to train buu given his patience. A certain sniper would likely also die out by reaching the end of their life span. Uub definately wouldnt make it. Last 2 spots would likely goto 17 & maybe if we're lucky, Cell. The thought of him coming out of nowhere kicking everyone's ass is hilarious. But it'd probably by future trunks

@@WilliamWizer The manga actually did him a bit of justice in the Moro arc, when he handled some of Moro’s goons without a problem.
If they were use Buu, they should have him absorb the human fighters before the tournament. He’d have their discipline and techniques for the fight. And they’re all good so their personalities wouldn’t negatively affect Buu in the slightest either.

So you’d have Buu absorb Krillin, 18, Roshi, Yamacha, Tien, Chiaotzu, and screw it let’s say Mr. Satan too for shiggles, and with that swap Meris for Buu and have 17 for the final spot and the whole gang is there.
thinking of strategy over raw power, the 10th place is without a doubt for Majin Buu, and if he isn't allowed to participate, even Dende or some random namek with healing powers should take that spot as a support, maybe Granola protecting him at all times and taking him from place to place where needed while pushing off platform weaker oponents

Considering in the first TOP they had freeza who was dead at the time, granolas short life span would no t be a big issue, seeing as whis could just go to other world and recruit him there, then have baba bring him back temporarily, plus if they win (which would be a given cuz yeah) he might even be revived with a longer life span

but the super dragon balls can grant ANY wish. that includes reviving seven whole universes.

Trunks was able to keep up with blue and rosé while only in ssj2 rage, if he were to use an even more powerful form like God or blue on top of his rage, there's no telling how powerful he could become

Tbh you’re really underselling how strong Super Saiyan Rage is, it seems to get stronger with each use, as on his first use, he was Blue/Rosé level
On the second he was able to briefly hold back one of Merged Zamasu’s attacks before Blue Vegeta had to step in and help
On his third time he was able to clash on relatively even ground with Half Corrupted Merged Zamasu (who is stronger than regular Merged Zamasu) briefly before getting the Sword of Hope buff (some people call it Spirit Sword but Legends and Xenoverse 2 call it Sword of Hope and call Vegito’s Energy Sword Spirit Sword instead)
Yeah but that's not on the manga, and having different characters in the anime and manga would be a problem.
Its hard to justify not having both 17 and 18 in the tournament given how clutch their infinite energy turned out to be. There's just so many quirky abilities that the other universes bring to the table which end up draining a ton of stamina to deal with.

Broly seemingly never runs out and can go on and on with fighting even if he's getting beaten badly
Gamma 1 is a machine so he probably has infinite stamina as well (I haven't watched super hero yet so I might be wrong)
Vegeta can take a lot too and his ue doesn't have a time limit like ui
Oob is like Broly he probably has a shitton of ki and thus can go extremely long

@@dhfiwxjf Gamma 1 and 2 don't have infinite energy. During his battle with gohan, he stated that he only had 82 percent of his energy left, meaning he has a limit. With that being said, he fought like 3 people in a row and never reached his limit, meaning his limit is pretty high

I don’t think Buu would have been allowed to fight in the Zen Expo or be allowed on the team in the first place if this was the case. I feel like the other deities can feel the Kai inside Buu. I really want to see what good Buu is capable of at his full potential

In Manga, when Goku asked Whis if Black Frieza was actually the strongest warrior instead of Gas or Granolah, Whis replied it could be someone else entirely.

The funniest thing is not a single human is fighting for universe 7 it is just aliens that decided we are some cool guys and need protection
I guess if they decided to revive cell, he could be one of the strongest assets with just a little training, and given how narcisistic he is, he would probably agree to fight just so he could show off. Would be pretty interesting imo
I really want another tournament of power but with a twist like an evil villain holding the tournament for his own amusement forcing people to fight and survive needing to eliminate even there own team members to win.

I feel like the next tournament should have a twist in it, like instead of all universes fighting for their own universes survival, the teams are randomised with each team having one member from each participating universe in it to throw everyone off as all plans they could've made would become useless.

It obviously wont be the same format as the first ones. The zenos would get bored, so they are likely going to do a huge twist with it. Maybe the Zenos say Goku and Vegeta can't compete or something, and Universe 7 needs to do it without them
What a terrifying line-up.
That thumbnail itself if proof right off that there won't be another tournament. And if there is they'll find ways to exclude certain fighters and/or their powers. Like they did with Buu in the first tournament and abilities like flight (although, let's be honest, they were pretty much flying at the end when UI Goku and Jiren were going at it). Whatever looks good on screen I guess.
Something I do admittedly love about how all the main characters are evolving is that they all feel different. All their strongest forms have different attributes and look different.
Goku has his Angelic Ultra Instinct.
Vegeta has his Destructive Ultra Ego.
Broly has his Monstrous Legendary Form.
Gohan has his Wild Beast Form.
Frieza has his Villainous Black Form.
Variety is nice. Especially compared to Z where every Saiyan character just got the same thing.

No one can deny that this would be one badass team and probably be the coolest moment in all of anime, but it would be a long shot for something like this to be made. Also I think if it lasts long enough, a fusion of androids 17 & 18 would be a great addition to the team as well

The last 3 could be quite literally anyone, like krillin 17 and 18 to reprise.

imagine future Trunks as the last participent. give him an awesome new form and he could steal the show
I wanna think that most of the universes are now training hard, or found better fighters for the next tournament because all the universes just saw how powerful Universe 7 and 11 were compared to them. The other universes basically didn’t have a chance from the start. So I think that when the next tournament comes around all other universes would have at least 1-3 real threats that could actually make us believe that they could win.
The earliest universes eliminated would know that they needed to improve, but they couldn't have seen UI (or MUI, for that matter) Goku, nor much of Jiren's power before they got erased, so they'd have no idea how much they'd need to train to close the gap and likely wouldn't have guessed it was so big. The later universes would have some idea at least, but only Universes 7 and 11 were left to see MUI Goku vs. Jiren. Even then, it feels like Universe 7 may have still gotten disproportionately stronger and even Universes who did otherwise properly prepare might be caught off-guard.

In tournament of power universe 7 was in bottom 2nd place in mortal power ranking... however now it must be grown lot. Team growing in point of power and freeze distroing week planets
Honestly if the other previous Universes got busy, training wise, the only two that would give Universe 7 a challenge is 11 and 6.
Universe 11: It has Jiren. If he decide to keep up his training like normal or even learn from Angels like how Goku and Vegeta are, he'd obviously be a problem. Dyspo was pretty good. And either Toppo could be further along his GOD training, or if he's retired then Belmod could rejoin the Pride Troopers.
Universe 6: Hit could obviously just train to improve all of his skills. Frost could go through some evolution like Freeza. Maybe those two Namekians, who previously fused with alot of other Namekians, could fuse together? And Cabba, Kale and Caulifla could learn ssj God and Blue.... then could get other saiyans to join and learn God ki. Then they could just fuse up and have a better chance 😅
When Android 17 wished to bring back all the universes that were erased, did he inadvertently bring back dark universes that weren't erased by the tournament of power? It could bring back to life powerful foes that they might need to beat or lead into the dark dragonballs arc.
Is there any definitive answer to that question yet because I have been thinking about it ever since the end of dragon ball super but I’m thinking that the answer is yes based on the fact that he said all the universes that have been erased and not all the universes that were erased during the tournament
You can't give 17 the Trent Dilfer treatment.
I really hope we get a remaster of that arc. The concept is too good not to bring back.

about "the dark univeres" thieory there is a fan manga that talk about it ( i forgot the name) but i think the option didnt rule out cause in the maga at granola arc i think there was mentiond a diffrent dimention so maby it is in fact the dark universe's that we looking foword into

I got a feeling this dream team is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the level of power we would see in the next tournament. Other universes will open up a whole new generation of characters and power levels. There’s a reason we haven’t seen lord beerus true power. As long as that’s concealed they can boost the power levels of others over and over and over and higher and higher and higher. We think Broly strong, there are probably guys from other universes that will clean the floor with Broly.

This video spoke so many facts it brought a smile to me, but a mini rant right here, is that Tien should get way more love than he does, I know he is just an earthling with a special beam attack... But he deserves some special form to do with his third eye, or maybe some upgrade to his tri beam or something! All we can do is keep hoping.

They'd have to go through a very heavy and intense training to become really useful amongst the other characters to be fair. I agree with you that they could participate (specially after growing up) but the other members are like, two god ki users, the strongest Saiyan, an evolved hybrid, a possibly god namekian and freeza
Goten and trunks would have to get something powerful to amount enough. Either they also gain god ki or some sort of evolution like Gohan, or they need to make Gotenks stronger and make it count. Honestly I'd love for Goten and trunks to become the face of the series as they could have different stories untill they become as strong as their fathers

Couple of things to point out.
Hedo could just create a new Android to take Gamma 2s spot for number 10 spot. Or heck, create a fully new good version of Cell Max.
Second, while we might get a second Tournament of Power, there are no guarantees that the rules will be the same as last time.
ToP is a brand new event that has only been hosted once, so them updating the rules and the number of contenders is not too far fetched.
He doesn’t have the funding for a new android is the issue. Bulma isn’t gonna pay for one to be made either.

that for me was an issue. Gohan, who face far more dire threats and didn't awaken Super Saiyan but Goten training with Chichi does. it's stupid. almost as stupid as tingly backs
@@jaredfrancis5062 I think that has to do with the power level that goku had when he impregnated chichi, since the saiyans are a warrior race, the stronger you are the stronger your offspring is. That is why Goten was able to get Super Saiyan at a much earlier age
Goten will no where near be close to Gohan especially if his potential is similar to Trunks’

Frieza training in a form of time chamber in some old conquered world seems like a good idea story wise, it keeps him from asking and is honestly a reasonable thing to have from some random civilization. Considering how many techniques and inventions each planet seems to contribute to the series.

I forget if or what the age limit was for the ToP but... Trunks and Goten could still fill roles. If we're factoring in Uub, who took 5 years after Z to train, they are 17 and 18 by the end of Z, so Trunks at the very least could also qualify, and probably be a better bet than Uub. On the other hand if it does take that 5 years and Granola can't enter, than I guess Trunks could get his role. We should also consider them since their potential was even greater than Gohan's at their age, having been capable of going SS3 at just 7 years old in the Buu saga, while Gohan in the Cell saga at SS2 was 11 years old. Trunks meanwhile is stronger if only slightly than Goten.
Merus is such an interesting choice. But it is kinda hit or miss if he would even be allowed to be in Universe 7’s team since he’s not originally from Universe 7 But if he was, even though he lost his angelic and god like powers he still has all of that combat experience he’s ever had for however long he’s lived before.
Swap him out for Buu and I’m set on U7 team

Merus is technically a mortal who lives in U7 now as a result of losing his angel status, so that's not an issue.

It's a very powerful team, Broly LLSJ can fusion with Gohan beast using potara which would bring inteligence with mounstriosity, that would make a very strong sayian since boths are strong ozarus inside, and goku & vegeta fusion would be very powerful as well since would be merging ultra instict and ultra ego. Can't imagine anything more terrifying than these 4 sayians, and freeza black as backup that would be enough.

There's probably gonna be a mortal in universe 1 or 12 that has a mortal equal to a low angel level. Because U7 is so unbelievably powerful with multiple fighters that are on a destroyers level near enough. Hit, Top, Kefla and not even Jiren will have a chance to down a team that stacked.
You never know if jiren is training after he lost to goku to become even strong let’s not forget jiren base form was already strong to compete with god of destruction power

What I'm truly excited about is to see how strong Jiren will be and his universe. In the next tournament of power.
Tien should be the strongest human in the setting, guy has constantly been shown to want to surpass his limitations no matter what, even when the Saiyans/Androids far surpass him he continues to train and is able to always catch up to them. He's basically the human fighting spirit (despite being a triclops lol,) and that should be reflected. "That just means I need to train twice as hard, for twice as long" like C'MON THAT'S SO COOL

Next Tournament of Power shouldn't take place just between universes. It'll be more interesting to involve Fighters of Different universes teaming up and fighting against some other team. I want to watch Jiren and HIT fighting with SAIYANS against a completely new team with some insanely powerful fighters

Having frickin SSJFP Broly on the team is basically a win condition unto itself. Throwing in UE Vegeta, MUI Goku, Beast Gohan, and Orange Gohan's Dad just elevates it from a world class jumping to a war crime.

Now that i think about it, if i understood right, Granolah’s wish made it so his lifespan basically skipped until he was the strongest in the universe, similar to hit. So if they just gave him eternal youth, that could make him quite literally infinitely powerful since his power would just increase eternally right?

I don't think it works logically like that. It being dragonball, anything is possible, though. Even with eternal youth, Granola can still die or turn brain dead. They would have to wish for eternal youth, immortality, and regeneration for it to work. And I think if they did, it would automatically disqualify him for basically turning into a god?
that's not what the wish did. what it did was spend all his lifeforce in such concentrated ammounts that his power skyrocketed. so if you give him eternal youth that's doing the opposite and by nececity you would need to make him weaker or give him lifeforce from somewhere else. this ofcourse raises the question if the wish dragons can let him take this lifeforce elsewhere but considering the only way they could power him up was to burn his i doubt it.
Granolah traded his life span for strength. This was a one time transaction. Increasing his life span would not increase his strength since he no longer has a way to exchange it. *Gas* however would keep getting stronger with an increased life span since his wish was that he wanted to be the strongest in the universe forever. This was a curse that drained his life span every time Goku or Vegeta surpasses him - trading away even more of his life span to become stronger than them. Granolah didn't get stronger than Gas after the wish but Gas kept increasing power
