Rue are Brian Flanagan with Cormac Mac Diarmada and Radie Peat who both play with Dublin folk miscreants Lynched. They present a truly eclectic mix of traditional songs and tunes from both sides of the Atlantic played with immutable conviction on fiddle, five-string banjo, harmonium and concertina. Expect whaling songs and murder ballads underpinned by a wash of harmonic swells and drones and a barn-dance or two thrown in for good measure.

The sound of hardship and coming to terms with yourself
Radie Peat: the true soul of Ireland
Why is it that no matter what music I listen to I always come back to Radie Peat
This is running at the same frequency as the universe - like some history rooted emotional rollercoaster. Wonder......full
This is unreal, Radie's voice fucking kills me. Lynched/Lankum and everything surrounding has blown open my heart. Keep doing what you're all doing, it makes me so happy (and sad but in the best way)
Just stunning in every way.... this is perfect
Radie - Unique, eery, spooky, scary and just wonderful. Best singer I've EVER seen and heard. Music not bad either!!
Recently found Radie through This Ain't No Disco, I'm absolutely captivated by her voice, this is hauntingly beautiful.
Ur easy on the eyes urself!
Wow I last commented on this beautiful piece of art 6 years ago, and I am still loving it! Thank you once more to all involved for sharing
Powerful. Cant stop listening even though it is a disturbing song.
This is an intense experience, the music and the visuals.
Beautifull!
A sad tune - but a beautiful video!
Radie is truly an exceptional artist, totally brilliant with Lankum & one the greatest sonic artists of the 21st century ;-D
Beautiful and haunting.
I loves me some Radie Peat.
This music is very special, reaches in deep.
J'adore..
Listening on repeat. Chills every time.
That's what I couldn't help doing . . .
this makes me feel the pain of the great irish famine and im not even irish.. thank you for this great piece of art.
You do not have to explain you are not Irish. If you were Irish you would not call it a famine.
@@firked Well said my friend!
Every aspect of this is simply sublime. Thank you for filming such beauty and editing so perfectly as well as sharing the art for the world to see.

One of my all time favorite songs!!!!! REAL different from Karen Daltons, but I really liked it!
Karen's long take on this has sublime banjo pickin'
I’ve loved Karen’s version for many years. I only recently discovered Radie Peat’s and am totally deranged by the pain and beauty she conveys.
Unreal beautiful!
Thanks! You will REALLY like this. m.ua-cam.com/video/7F5ZtnCUN-4/v-deo.html

wow, even better than Nick Cave's interpretation
I thought I as so hip to modern folk music over here in north america couple real good channels. Gems on vhs n. Western af af is as fuck. But theese guys n all theese dublin folk bands music is so dark n beautiful like old irish folk songs but theese are new songs just as good blew whats left of my mindsongood factory girl thi song n a couple others their gods to me now n I humbly bow down.
Check out the two albums by the Gembrokers for some North American stuff not that well known about, the main gal is named Amelia Baker and her new act is Cinder Well (she's also a part time member of Blackbird Raum, Lankum did an album with BR also). Those two Gembrokers albums are awesome though

Good, inn't? na gcopaleen dancing with his camera. Wings. Eyes. If you could do away with both and still see... Nocturnes are still an Irish thing. Radie's like a musical Kate Moss. A night raga. And Myles...Ritts, Lindbergh, Sorrenti, Figgis, Testino ... the goat.
Holy fuck. Karen dalton is the best. Unbelievable cover. Radie peat ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Does this song exist on an album or something, its really great.
She performs a similar version on The Livelong Day by Lankum. Incredible album!
@@SnoopLazersnake Thanx 👍🏻😎
One of the best, earliest versions you will hear is by the unknown legend called Karen Dalton! I highly advise you check it out, and ALL of her other songs too obvs :D
@@tommylumberjack Oh yes! And with clawhammer banjo.... I play clawhammer myself. Thanx for the tip :-)
@@tommylumberjack I have not head about her before. I really have to hear more.

Donovan sirster
what is the instrument anyone please?
Harmonium
That's a harmonium.
For a cheaper instrument that has a drone effect check out an Indian Shruti box with a foot pedal

She reminds me Kate Bush
she will not wash away her tears or guilt without the love of her God who she fears she had displeased. Entertainment for profit? true devotion is private.
What does your comment mean, exactly?
Judge others not, ye wiener
