Beautiful. The Irish have always had a way with with music, songs and storytelling. I’m glad we can call these people the new generation taking on the baton.

yes friend hi! Anna's song "twin" has hella drake picking vibes, but she has such a unique way. Such a voice. Nick was so reserved, but similar vague lyricism which i love

I love the song from the very begining but at 4:03, it gives me shivers but the "All the feathers were dancing" part is absolutely amazing! There is something magical ❤

    You were terrible
    And you were kind
Between the shield, between the mime
    You were terrifying
    And oh so strange
    Witnessing your red lit game
Empty eyes roll over my spine
    We heard
Barking dogs in the flickering light
    [Pre-Chorus]
Hold me, hold me, hold me by the water so wide
Show me all is well on the inside
    [Chorus]
    Born and bred
    The weak, the wise
Remind me how to love but how to lie
Born and raised, the meek and the mild
Remind me how to live I’m half-alive
    [Verse 2]
    And the floorboards were creaking
    Under all of our feet
And we hid from the faces and their gleaming white teeth
    All the feathers were dancing
    Over all of our heads
And no cheers from a crowd that had already left

      i hear :
Born and bred and we go wide
Remind me how to love - *and how to lie
Born and raised and we goooo and divide
Remind me how to live another life

I dont know howmany times I've commented on or shared your songs. I'm cut, rended, and somehow so whole. Please if you have a chance, come to the upper Midwest usa. I'd walk over coals. You have all the tradition that makes us and all the spark that hopes to keep us alive.

A very dear friend - and her husband - are coming to Dublin soon. She's an amazing theatre, movement, performance artist. I've shared with her just today my admiration of you and your work. Her name is Grace. From New Orleans (ní ó dhuchais). I asked her to hunt you down to say hello, in person, for me.

Hello, very nice song ... I would like to know why this song is called "Aurillac" it turns out that it is also the name of the city where I live (France) Thank you in advance

    • @AnnaMieke
      @AnnaMieke 4 роки тому +16

Hello Patrick.. I wrote most of the song in Aurillac, in 2016 or 2017, I can't remember. I was at a street performance festival there for a week (Festival d'Aurillac I think?).

@@AnnaMieke Thank you very much for answering me, yes it is the street theater festival of Aurillac. I am a little sad not to have seen and heard you at that time; your album "idle mind" is really very beautiful, your voice is magnificent, I wish you lots of good things for the future, Thanks again, Regards

Appreciated seeing this answer ... beautiful song and video too. I love that so many young Irish girls are choosing images of terraced houses, decayed industry and the sea to accompany their music. Gives me hope for the future of the working classes (an oxymoron if ever there was one!). Lovely tune.

(before the explanation) I looked up the name and found that it's the umbrella capital of France, it's needless to say I was confused.

this song is so beautiful i just want it to be bigger. when the cello drops for the chorus is great for the first - but second go round?
bring in the drums and the amps and blow this up! could be a great shoegazer tune imo
    2 cents. gorgeous singing thanks!
