It makes me unbelievably upset that they never actually try with games for Avatar. This series has such insane potential and a wildly active fanbase and the best you can do is some shovelware that's genuinely worse than the Gamecube game that came out 17 years ago. It's shameful, honestly.
Would be interesting to get a game where you play as your own avatar like way way in the distant past maybe even future and your write your own story

Back in the day I always wanted a company like Bioware to make a big story and character driven RPG where you'd start in a different part of the world depending on the Nation you chose to be born in. I still think a game of that level with actually passion and quality would be amazing.

It’s a insult because the show is bigger than what anyone can reproduce and they take that LIGHTLY, and possibly think it may be to old for anyone to care about but then again thousand year door is getting a remake and people are bananas for it. SO I’d say stop being a little bit*h pu**y and put a investment into this show to be formed into a PERFECT game become it has the POTENTIAL to be 😢

If they did a Hogwarts Legacy style game for Avatar that would sell like crazy. You can customize your character and pick your element or even be a nonbender. You could have little companions/pets who can go out and get your items or send them in an area to dig something up or help you out. Hell, make it co-op and you can take on enemies with a friend and if you combine your powers to have devasting combos like a water bender who drenches enemies and then a fire bender can shoot lighnting. You can travel to different areas and meet new characters who can join your party. There are so many opportunities to expand the IP and give the fans something good.
That's what I was saying. But maybe with more skills. Like Spiderman or something similar. Anyway the point is that an rpg avatar game would be so good. Waiting for one for decades

Me personally, I would love a Naruto Storm And DBZ: Kakarot type game where you get to re-live the 3 books, playing as the main characters (Mainly Aang of course) while exploring an open world with fun little collectibles and side missions as you proceed through the main story with epic boss battles and cutscenes.
Hell just let CyberConnect2 make an Avatar game. Aang Vs Ozai would be breath-taking.

it's crazy we don't have a AAA Avatar game with great graphics and mechanics. It's not some small time indy property that no one knows about. Not even an fighting game?! Shows how unimaginative the Nickelodeon is while handling this franchise.

It’s a show with a rich lore with so much of that lore only just being explored. It’s only in the last five or so years novels with pre-Aang Avatars showing their stories more fully have been coming out.

@@mrjacasoni I would be definitely down for a big budget, well made Avatar game, heck even a AA or indie one if it is done right but this is not only cheap, it looks and feels cheap, it looks like one of these free 2 play smartphone games with 200 adds, one of these games where every 5 minutes a new add pops up, no idea how this passed quality control tests lol.
An IP with all the potential and none of the investment. Like Matty said, this could have been the hogwarts legacy treatment. It could have kept this art style but just had more polish and depth to combat and player interactions

It’s a shame that they restricted the budget for this game. They’re either testing the water for a Legend of Korra sequel or this was a one-off and it was like yanking pubes to get the passion project greenlit and this is the best they could produce.

Honestly the Avatar series deserves a big budget game. It would sell the Avatar fan base is massive spanning multiple different age groups.
Anyone remember back in the THQ era of licensed games when most of these games based on cartoons were either episode tie-ins or standalone sidestories? This is another one of these episode tie-in games.
Keep in mind, games based on cartoons/TV shows are a completely different league compared to games based on Marvel/DC/Harry Potter. Prior to GameMill/Outright, Activision was doing licensed games, until they bowed with Ghostbusters 2016 which was so bad it caused its dev to file for bankruptcy. Then GameMill and Outright arrived and now these games are a trend again and are obviously still hit or miss.
Hard disagree on those games being in different leagues. The HP games were also pretty shitty, also serving purely as episode tie-in games. Hogwarts Legacy bucked the trend, and will hopefully continue to buck it - we need an Avatar game to do similar. Buck the trend, do something different, be original, and try to be its own game instead of trying to purely cash-in on hype.

It would have been cool to choose your own bender and element. Airbenders get aang’s glider, waterbenders can surf on water, fire benders can use feet propulsion, and earth benders can travel through earth

I have a DS game with a unique story where the villain builds machines that can emulate bending, and the final boss is an "avatar" machine that combines all 4 abilities. Also it was set before book 2 earth and has Haru as the 4th party member.

That's almost like PSP game, it was really cool. The bosses and enemies were difficult though
This game just reminds me of the fan project in the PlayStation game, Dreams called "Four Seasons"
There was far more love and care in the level designs as far as making the character controls fun to use.

This game shockingly gives me mobile game vibes. And it’s sad that this was clearly made for no good reason other than a cash grab. I actually got confused when I first heard about it and genuinely asked why. But the games from when the show aired are leaps better, even the first game. And I agree that the Korra game was decent enough and I think the beat ‘em up warriors style of game fits the avatar universe very well. It’s a shame they made this with so little love and money, slapped avatar on it, and try to make you buy it for 60$.
A Harry Potter Legacy kind of Avatar game would be AMAZING! exploring temples, the library, towns, landmarks, and the graphics would look like the show like how south park managed to do their games. Im sure NOT holding my breath for something like that, always cheap cash grabs with zero respect for the IP.
We need a DBZ Kakarot style avatar game, not the fighting but the hub world exploration, flying around on appa or with aangs staff would be perfect, and just the key locations from the show and stuff
Seriously! The ATLA IP has the potential to produce some of the best licensed games of all time, but unfortunately it just hasn't found the right developer who can do that just yet.
It's sad they made this Avatar game a bad game, they could have put way more thought into it.

The spell system from the Forspoken game would fit well with an Avatar game, just mix the spells with some martial arts animation and I think the combat would be pretty fun.
The pieces are there for an absolute banger of an Avatar game, and the Hogwarts: Legacy comparison seems to be a solid starting point.
Imagine playing as your own character, deciding on and learning a chosen bending style and tribe. Later, the game's threat presents itself and you venture out into the world to stop it.
Along the way, you meet the current Avatar who is impressed with your skills and offers to train you to face the upcoming threat. Through your intense training, the Avatar discovers an ability which allows them to awaken a second element for you to bend, allowing your character to mix and match bending styles for cool hybrids and combo moves.
Perhaps this could then lead to an option where you can learn forbidden bending from the antagonist, allowing you to betray the Avatar and join the evil side...

I really liked the Korra game by Platinum. Shame it was digital only, as far as I know, and it's no longer available on Steam.

If i wanna water wip someone to pull them close and then nock them back with a wind or fire blast, I should just be able to do it.

Please don't sleep on the novels like that. The Kyoshi and the Yangchen novels that came out over the past few years are so good. Plus if you like tabletop RPGs, the Avatar Legends is also super well made. And if you like card games, the ATLA set for Weiss Schwarz recently released so that's pretty neat.
I love the novels,they are so great and it's always interesting to learn about the past and history of this word.
Avatar most definitely has potential to reach a new high and reach a further audience but they just don’t give it the platform it deserves!

If games like Sifu, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Hogwarts Legacy, and The Last of Us can exist, (where in there's voice acting, motion capture for everything, from stunts, fighting, having conversations, etc, there's actually people behind the games that love the product, and put the work in hiring great actors, etc), then why can't we as ATLA fans get a proper, big budget, open world ATLA and LOK game respectively? 🤔
Playing through each game, all 3 seasons of ATLA for that game, and all 4 for Korra, get as many of the voice actors back as possible, (RIP to Uncle Iroh's original voice actor), and tell us the story, while also giving us the I'm between's of the series that we didn't get those see, expand the world we love in, maybe a battle arena, free dlc support, cosmetics we can buy for in game, unlockable outfits as well, great fast paced combat, making us feel like the Avatar, from the iceberg, to the showdown with the Fire Lord, I have so many idea's for a great AAA ATLA game, I only hope we get that one day.🙏😞💯🤞

@@7Write4This9Heart7 Agreed, lol, but, in order for us to get free DLC updates for the game, (an online mode maybe added in for arena mode, we can do a tournament style, like in the episode, ("The Blind Bandit,introducing Toph), at least cosmetics at between $1-$5 max depending on the bundle and character skins within it, like Fortnite does, all free updates, weapons, maps, etc, just cosmetic skins that keep the game running. 💯🙂

I would personally love if cyber connect got the avatar license. Making a 3d arena fighter with ninja storm style combat would be great. Not to mention the roster could easily fit both airbender and Korra's characters.
I would KILL for that! Their story modes for the Naruto and Demon Slayer games are also great, so I'd be down to play through all 3 books of ATLA in the story mode! :D

Yeah, man I grew up watching Avatar over and over. I absolutely love it. Korra was amazing but didn't have the same impact on me as the OG did. All I've ever wanted was a high budget, good looking, decent Avatar game. I'm 28 now and keep getting disappointed over and over. The time for a big Avatar game was when the show was at its peak. Unfortunately I think it’s too late for one.

My friend and I came up with an idea after this disaster for an Avatar RPG. You pick which nation you belong to, create a character, and discover that you are the avatar. Seems like a no brainer.
With an Advanced version of the Nemesis System to adapt the World to your Character
You could even have the World Progress with the Generations
So you play the first Avatar then he becomes Old & dies & so make a new Avatar that is set in the same world but after the previous Avatar died
& this could even become The New Game+
This game reminds me of young justice legacy and the only thing hurting it is our expectations and standards. Hopefully this paves the way for bigger budget avatar games

Why not make an RPG where you role plays as a certain bender in a cool new story during an interesting time period? You don’t have to be the Avatar to make a good game either. it could be a super replayable role playing experience where one play through you are a water bender, another an air bender and so on. different dialogue choices and a tight sort of Outer Worlds hub based game would be really cool. what a shame
Imagine if CC2 were hired to create this game. Imagine the potential, the bombastic cutscenes. We know that CC2 is capable of other genres, not just arena fighters, with DBZ Kakarot. We know that CC2 is really one of those developers who will go above and beyond for the source material they're adapting and I cannot express my disappointment enough as a fan of the show.

One of my dream games is basically a Kingdom Hearts game but with an Avatar reskin.
Imagine, an Action RPG where you control Aang and you have Katara and Sokka in your party (and then Toph and Zuko) and you explore all the Nations.
You get EXP as you level up and you get a variety of weapons, items and abilities, including Limit attacks depending of which character/s in your party you pick.
And imagine the boss fights!
Avatar could literally be played like Breath of the Wild, but apparently no one has the balls to do so.
I'd love to see a game that took place during the 100 year war. Let you play as an airbender, earth bender, water bender, or fire bender in each chapter and have all 4 of your character eventually converge and depending on yout choices, the fire bender joins the team or fights them.
If the Avatar series did anything right, they've proven that they don't need Aang to make a good story. The novels were exceptionally good by the way and if anyone is interested but doesnt want to read them, theres a fanmade youtube channel that has turned them into visual novels.
I just..I just want a good open world Avatar The Last Airbender game. The ingredients are all there. It would be so easy to pull off. The right team could make a GOTY title. But...but we get this. Such a shame

This wasn’t even made for kids, this was specifically made for us who grew up with it to get our money. All the recent mobile games, Netflix series, and this game only exist because they saw we were still interested in the series
