This is not a video game adaptation of the show. Rather, it's an adaptation of that Ember Island play. "We must find Aang!" *Next scene* "We found Aang!"
This is like if after Zuko became the Fire Lord, he commissioned the Ember Island Players to do a new version of the play that tells it how it really happened, but they were upset that they had to change their magnum opus and put zero effort into it. Like the actor playing Zuko doesn't even bother to ham it up and says lines like "I'm handing you over to restore my honor" with the same energy he uses to say "Uh, I'd like a fire burger and some nation fries please"
Oh, I forgot this game existed. This game makes me so sad. We could have had something amazing. Imagine a rpg set in the Avatar world. Imagine a prequel where you're one of the lesser known avatars, dealing with whatever trouble the world has. Imagine a sequel with the grown up Gaang. We could find out what the heck happened to Sokka between Avatar and Legend of Korra.
The funniest thing is that’s not even how the door is meant to open, the sages are meant to be the key, so normally in the series they used the fake fire bending to trick the sages into opening the door after using the fake bending and hiding away
It was explained that only 5 fire sages OR a fully realized avatar would have the power to open the door. Aang couldn’t open it because he didn’t know how to firebend, which is why they had to trick the sages into opening it.
I can't believe I've only seen the live action Wii game and now this. I really need to see the actual show and not just these bad games as a first experience haha😂
Gamemill is such a bizarre name for a publisher. Did they somehow think consumers wouldn’t make the connection to puppy mills and diploma mills. They couldn’t possibly be more on the nose if they named themselves Bad Game Making Company.
To be honest, the models and quite a few of the effects aren't that bad, it's actually everything else that they failed at. I haft to wonder, were the only people to kind of care about this game were the visual designers? Because this game would be passable if they actually cared about making good combat system with decent animations [as well as actually watching the show before writing dialogue, I screamed internally when the "Blue Spirit" started talking]
This game could have been so good as imo a MK or a My Hero One’s Justice style game with its combat and visuals, both those games do a great job at telling the story while still heavily relying on the combat system
Gollum game was so bad that we now have Gollumite game genre. Kinda like a Souls-like but instead of a game style the game just has to be terrible in every way.
Pretty sure Gollum-like specifically refers to a bad and/or cheaply made video game adaptation for an existing IP, not just any game that happens to be bad.
Something interesting I found on TV Tropes for this series is actually that in the original intro to the show, it's not actually Aang that represents the Air element. It can be a little hard to tell given the shadows, but the figure is too tall to be Aang, which means it's likely Gyatso. So I'm only a minute in and I'm already dying because you can tell they didn't so much as look all that closely at the opening of the show, considering they used the same characters as the show to represent the other three elements. (Then again, he is drawn in the same outfit as the one he wore in the final battle, so maybe it was intentional, but honestly I don't think they knew regardless.)
I’ve read most of the ATLA comics that continue the story after the show. Imagine my surprise when I see the comic book panels in this game, which are the exact art style from the comics. The fact that the artist had to make new art for this travesty pains me to no end 😭
@@fuzzyotterpaws4395i def recommend watching the show it's really good. I promise these games are basically just cash grabs with no effort or care put into them.

This is made even worse by the fact that your other 2 party members _barely_ take any damage because the enemies constantly focus on you >Game breaking bugs. You can't even select which part to play in Free Mode. >Aside from the puzzles and combat, it needs to pad itself out via Subway Surfers-style sections. Even the flying sections in LEGO Star Wars made sense.
I have good memories of Avatar the Last Airbender on the PS2, It was one of the first games with RPG elements that I played when I was a child. I remember being fascinated by the size of the maps, which worked like a small open world with NPCs and missions
Same. Everything in this game has also been flowing much better since it had it‘s own story instead of awkwardly trying to recreate the TV show. They should aim for more of this in terms of Avatar games but I guess it‘d actually require creative input and paying a decent writing team insted of having the intern write a summary.
