This is one of the educated video i watched. Am a stomach sleeper since childhood and am now 45. Just last week, I wanted to learn to sleep on my back and bcuz I didn't learn how to do it right, within just 3days of sleeping on my back,am having severe back pain. I realized it was from the sleeping on my back and now your video clearly showed the reason behind my back pain. Am gonna use pillows as stated. Thank you once again and greetings to you from Ghana 🇬🇭
When the lower back is sore and hurts i wake up on a 45° angle and lay like that for hours afterwards, i have slept ever way possible and hate it when your shoulders get numb on both sides when your laying on one side. Always good to get helpful information
I love the fact that i always use the 2nd reccomended position since i was like 5 my parents always didn't like it but i forced my way through and am happy to see that i sleep Normally and betterly
Excellent advice and explanations. Subscribing. I'm a side sleeper and the pillow between the knees was a dramatic improvement. Also went from two head pillows to one, and my neck felt better in the morning. Thank you!
That was very very helpful doc. Thanks a lot. I have been sleeping on my stomach my whole life and I have all those neck and hip issues you mentioned here. Now I am gonna change my way of sleeping. Thanks 😊
worse part is people would rather go to a doc and get pain meds than do what's necessary to fix the problem such as DAILY stretching and sleeping as such..I love your channel. I always send my husband your videos 😂
Thank you so much, I was waking up with shoulder pain so it means I need to adjust something. This was perfect because I unfortunately have a history of both shoulder pain and sciatica. Thanks for making it so clear and explaining briefly!
I cannot fall into deep sleep unless i sleep on my stomache, which leaves me aching all day unfortunately. I'll try the sleep on back position and hopefully pick it up as a habit.
honestly I slept like that for a dozen or so years if not longer and nothing happened to me, well now I'm 32 and I can feel it in my back. instinctively I started sleeping like it was shown in this movie and I confirm that the difference is huge, on the plus side of course
For the side sleep position, I recently purchased a pregnancy pillow which helps keep me in that slightly rolled back position. Works for my neck, takes pressure off my shoulder, built in pillow between legs which also allows for straight top leg adjustment & support along my back keeps me in position. Game changer. Except now Amazon thinks I need baby stuff. 🤷♀️
Hi Stefan, I have endured back pain over the last three months, especially at night and early morning. I have been trying the side position with a cushion for the nights, and I'm already used to this position and it is very comfortable. I also find that I can make micro adjustments to improve alignment. I'll let you know if my back improves over time. I've seen two chiropractor for a total of four sessions with marginal improvement. I'm on holiday at the moment, and would like to chat with you on my return. Thanks for the video, it's very helpful. Best regards, Ralph
80 years old male 193cm tall 90kg .. doing your sleep positions but last night around pee time I awoke with scary pain / discomfort on my upper left arm and chest . This morning no pain no sign of last nights scare.
I saw sleeping in wrong position that's why I was hvg shoulder pains n neck pains n pain on my lower rib left. After e stretching I felt much better. I need to do exercises every morning n evening Thk you 🫂🫂😫😫😫😫😫😫😫🥰
Can I sleep flat with a towel under my neck? Should we prop the upper back at all? Some posture books I have seem to say we should prop upper back slightly and head slightly more 😊
So i accomplished to make all mistakes while laying on the side 🤔 i might have to rethink my sleeping position although thats how my body might have developed over time to feel most comfortable while sleeping
Yes in fact it's very good for posture too. But the only problem is that if you turn onto your side and you don't have a pillow, you won't be supported correctly. So I only recommend lying on your back with no pillow if you never turn onto your side
I was not able to understand how the spine bents from the sides when sleeping on right side..all viscera are attached by mesentry ,how is it to hurt the spine laterally...I think right hand side position is best for sleep !
How do you adapt to a new position? I have always been a stomach sleeper and really want to go full Mr. Miyagi from Karate Kid sleeping position on my back, but I can't get it to happen. Outside of totally exhausting myself, but I really want it to be my position of choice.
I've always been a tummy or side sleeper and my neck has always give me temporal headaches right over my left eye or a migraine so bad I almost vomit. My chiropractor helps me but I have to keep going back.
Comfortable side-sleeping: #1 reason to have a body pillow. Question: Sometimes I end up rolling to my other side at night and forget to take my body pillow with me, but still wake up completely comfortably as long as the body pillow behind me is clutched between my calves. Is the pillow still providing corrective support that way, or is the lack of consequences likely just an artifact of waterbed sleeping?
We all have go to positions when trying to go to sleep. Comfort is not helped when lying uncomfortably. My situation is not helped by recently having a brain tumour removed from my head.
I can`t sleep in any other position than on the stomach. I don`t use any pillow and find it comfortable. Tried to sleep on the side with pillow between my knees, but I can't because of the side pressure on my ribs.
This fixed position you can sleep in peace without changes only once you are dead - as long you are alive, you keep shifting to various position unknowingly most comfortable to you Thats the fact .
Who will be sleeping on such a table with a hard surface? Instead of having the body fit a flat and hard surface, how about sleeping on a bed with a surface that will better fit the body curve, e.g. high-density foam?
dicen que si duermes boca arriba se te sube el muerto. i don’t know how to say this in english. i think is something like “sleeping paralysis “ . but to my people and me is more than just science. in conclusion, don’t sleep facing up. thank u

Best video I have seen is ages. I can relate so much to the problems during sleep.
cheers Andrew!
I was forced to sleep on my back after the surgery. Then i get used to it. One of the best corrections I ever made

I'll definitely give the 1st position a try
What position is the most comfortable for you?
What's comfortable for me at the time usually leaves my back in pain later, I tend to fold myself up like origami to sleep.
I cannot fall into deep sleep unless i sleep on my stomache, which leaves me aching all day unfortunately. I'll try the sleep on back position and hopefully pick it up as a habit.

You have any videos to help with shoulder and neck from side sleeping for years? Back of shoulders super tight and sorecto touch. Thanks

I'm starting it, hope I can persist as well!
Thank you

What is best sleeping position for ddd ?
Which pillow is correct. Please suggest pillow

That's why in Indonesia is common using bolster as sleeping equipment.😊
Bolster? 🤔
I was not able to understand how the spine bents from the sides when sleeping on right side..all viscera are attached by mesentry ,how is it to hurt the spine laterally...I think right hand side position is best for sleep !
Excellent suggestions ! Where can you buy those socks ? :)
"Happy Socks" Cat socks!! ✌️
to soft mattress will give you back pain firm will move about a bit moor but no back pain take it from a floor layer .

I m stomach sleeper too I never use any pillow
How do i tell if my spine is straight? I live alone and a mirror doesnt really help. I'm a side sleeper and have horrible neck and rhomboid pain.
I cant sleep on my back cause of snoring. And even when i try i wake up being slept on my side for whole night
I've always been a tummy or side sleeper and my neck has always give me temporal headaches right over my left eye or a migraine so bad I almost vomit. My chiropractor helps me but I have to keep going back.
For backpain or against backpain??
Comfortable side-sleeping: #1 reason to have a body pillow.

Is the pillow still providing corrective support that way, or is the lack of consequences likely just an artifact of waterbed sleeping?
Probably a combination. If it's "clutched between" your calves, it's likely still helping to stop the top knee from going forward too much
@@BodyFixExercises Good to know. Thanks for answering my question!
Thanks..where is exactly L4 and L5 of left leg..pain
L4 and L5 are the lowest two lumbar vertebrae
How come reverse cowgirl is only mentioned but not demoed?

I sleep in a hammock,best thing ever
Everyone who side sleeps should be using a special pillow the avoids pressure on the shoulder and neck.
You missed out the thoracic spine as most people do.
This fixed position you can sleep in peace without changes only once you are dead - as long you are alive, you keep shifting to various position unknowingly most comfortable to you

instructions unclear, i forgot to wake up
Lol. It helped you so much that you got to fall asleep?
That's great.
How about sleeping without pillow on neck?
I sleep on a recliner ! Can’t sleep on a bed anymore because of cervical problems!
Who will be sleeping on such a table with a hard surface?
Instead of having the body fit a flat and hard surface, how about sleeping on a bed with a surface that will better fit the body curve, e.g. high-density foam?
I kinda just assume you won't sleep on a chiropractic table like this and sleep in an actual bed. 😉
How did I destroy my jaw? It pops all the time especially when eating. The jaw sure is the most sensitive. I guess sleeping makes it pop?
He slept face up and became a skeleton!!
When I broke my arm, I was forced to learn to sleep on my back so it is doable (front sleeper)
