    I love that Tim Holtz took the time to demonstrate his own product. Extremely informative. I was considering the Misti but am sold on this platform.

    This is so Tim Holtz! I'm writing this during our nation's "shelter in place" time and anxiety is fairly high. But the soothing voice of Tim coupled with his "don't worry, it will all work out" attitude" is the PERFECT tutorial at a time like this. LOVE the Stamp Platform - in fact, since I'm doing a ton of work for my new Etsy shop now ... I think I have to order one - NOW!

    I love Tim Holtz and try to watch everything he does. I thought this was a new video on more tips with the stamp platform but it's the exact same video that was put up earlier I watched a few months ago. I didn't realize that companies were reposting the same videos at later dates. I was disappointed that it wasn't a new one.

    I did a bunch of research, when I was selecting my Stamping platform. I saw a lot of people recommend this one, and I bought the travel size, as I limited on space. I love this platform. Even the small size, I cut larger papers and I never have a problem. I'm glad I was able to purchase one before they were no longer available.

Very upset they won't be available in the US anymore, so I made sure to have that extra. If anything happens to my platforms, I'll be getting replacements from the UK (I have friends there). Keep up the great work, Tim.

    I have both platforms. Great vidio. And their covers. To be honest, the covers, I have used when I travel. They are the perfect size for my tablet and cell phones. Also I use cheap sanitizer because they normally don't have lotions or fragrance. Magic eraser for permit inks I don't get to right away. Usually when I mass produce. The only issuei have with these platforms, because it's a huge area, sometimes I can't get the right pressure. I've seen others make a tool to put pressure on stamp platforms. Which is a game changer. Especially with carpal tunnel. I use an Air hockey paddle. It's felted and perfect size for both platforms.

    After I learned that Tonic Studios will not be able to sell their platform in North & South America and Canada any longer, I had to rush out and purchase the Travel Platform to take with we me to crops. I have the larger platform for use at home, but now that there's going to be difficulties in acquiring these wonderful tools, I had to get the one I've been hoping to get for a while. Personally, I think My Sweet Petunia (the MISTI creator) is unfair to create this issue since competition is what keeps crafting affordable, but that's just my opinion...😋 😉

    • @lindataylor863
      @lindataylor863 5 років тому +3

      It's hard to guess as to what you're doing wrong. Are the stamps you're using fairly new? If so, maybe you need to clean them with some soap and water and dry them. Do the stamps work when using them with an acrylic block? If they work with a block, there's really no reason they won't work with the platform, unless you're using the wrong side of the platform lid. Be sure you're using the proper side of the lid with the stamp you're using. If you have the rubber side of the hinged lid facing up when using a clear stamp, the stamp will be too far away from the lid to give an impression. On the other hand, if the clear side is facing up and you're using a rubber stamp, the lid won't close properly as the stamp is too thick to be used when a clear stamp should be used. If you're unsure which stamp you're using, look at the stamp sideways - if it's thick and looks like it may have been used with a wooden block, chances are it's a rubber stamp. If it's clear and the side view isn't real think, it's probably a clear stamp. Watch the video again as Tim shows the difference. Hope you have better luck now!!!

    Being a not so creative individual, I am always searching for ideas to do with my grandchildren hoping to give them the opportunity to see that being creative is fun. I purchased the stamping platform recently based on a different video on You Tube. I received the platform a few days ago and thought..."Now what?". I am so glad I found this video! I now how confidence that I in fact CAN be creative. Presentation was total perfection in explaining and demonstrating how to use this platform. I have one of these platforms as well as a Misti. What I like best about the Tim Holtz platform is the ability to adjust it to fit either rubber or clear stamps. What I don't like about it is the lack of cushion on that very hard stamping surface. I lay a clean paper towel under the paper I am stamping when using the Holtz platform to get a better stamped image.

    You aren't kidding about how strong those magnets are. I knew to keep them apart, so while I was checking out my New platform, I was careful to put one of the magnets on one side of my desk and the other on the other side. We are talking 3-4 ft apart....and all of a sudden SNAP!! right in front of my eyes, they connected. I was so lucky they did not shatter. Now, if I need to remove them, I sit on one....lol.

    Thanks for the great video. Your sense of humour makes me laugh out loud. I love this stamp platform and find myself reaching for it in preference to my other stamping tool. The two open sides and the reversible lid make it so easy to use. Price-wise, it was really affordable. I am thrilled that I found it in my local craft store as it is sometimes difficult to procure craft supplies in Ireland.

    Hi, Tim -
    I enjoyed this video a lot. I was investigating the new MISTI vs. your platform. I got the free watercolor technique demo by chance. I have the older MISTI and just got it. I love the watercolor technique and will give it a try! Thanks!!

    Just got the platform. First thing I've done → bringing the magnets together. Second thing I've done → finding this manual saying "Keep the magnets far away from each other"... ^___^

      Uh oh! Try to gently twist them apart instead of just pulling and you may have better success.
