A hoya guide would be a smashing idea! Your silver dollar looks wonderful and you are being secretive... You asked before about serpens. Mine are growing nicely in constant moisture and has let me know immediately when it got dry. I do like the way you show the process. I find that helpful. Hello again! Probably should've watched this one earlier, eh? Never mind. Change of plans. The cuttings that look like (miserable) leaves on a stem got moved to perlite. The ones that look like mini tree trunks with branches are still waiting outside in water to be potted, because my stupid order is late.
As your video triggered my need to do plant stuff, I figured my maranta was getting too complacent, so I re--soiled it and added back a bit I cut off a while back that rooted nicely. I really didn't like the soil it came in. Also, I wanted to see the roots. Those are some beautiful roots, with all those round bits (tubers? bulbs?), whatever they are. It's a pretty root system. I'm even pretty sure I didn't kill it. I was actually rather pleased with myself until I remembered I had a bit of node with roots and no leaves that I hadn't decided what to do with yet, and it disappeared. It might have ended up inside the pot. I am not digging it up again to find out, so here's hoping it won't be rotting in there and killing my plant. I will be unhappy if it died at this point, but I still have my spare maranta chilling outside tucked behind a humongous fern. It really is borderline miraculous that my plants haven't rebelled against my unconscionable experimentation yet. They do seem to be really good at surviving, plants. It's impressive.
Anyway, that's my daily adventures in plant learning done. Thanks for the perlite idea. I honestly don't know why I didn't think of it, so it's a good thing I watch your videos.

Honestly, though, I'm just more curious and restless than I am in need of pretty looking plants.
I always buy them small, or get cuttings. It's more fun that way for me. The only exception is for a particular spot near the entrance that gets relatively little light and I wanted a grown plant for there, and even that was maybe a 6 inch pot? It's a Dieffenbachia (Green Magic, probably), and the poor thing has been suffering because when it came in I spotted what I now believe to have been actual spider webs, but I was worried, so it went straight into the shower despite having obviously been watered very recently, and I kept moving it around trying to find a place away from other plants that wasn't either too bright or too dark, and, well. She seems perfectly healthy and is giving me new leaves and only lost one yellow one from the bottom, so I guess she's fine. Except she's currently located in a spot that gets light from two different windows, so I hope she doesn't get too angry when I finally move her to her intended spot. Maybe the lack of A/C in that spot will compensate for the diminished lighting.

But, no, I have never buffered before this, and never had any problem whatsoever with nutrient block. "They" say that even using a food with cal/mag it won't work. But for years it's been fine, so.... Perhaps those smokable gardens are far more sensitive? I'm really not sure.
