Great video pal, lovely to meet you on New Years Day, thanks for the mention and congratulations on your 13 years of sobriety. New Years Day was one year AF for me my wife. Goodluck with the channel and look forward to future videos
@Steve_Hookway nice one mate..congratulations to you and the wife on 1 whole year AF. Massive achievement and hope your enjoying the many benefits... I mean running parkrun on a new years day morning fresh for 1 thing 🙌😆... keep up the good work. You might notice ive used one of your tracks earlier on in the video 🎵 ... I tried to download the others but the YT to mp3 converters i was using kept playing up 🙃.. All the best for 2025 🎉
@sambassett5 Thanks Sam...yes he's defo one to watch in 2025.. ive a strong feeling he'll be re-writing his PBs across the board next year aswell as he is a commited and disciplined runner. I think everyone featured in this video can do big things next year 🙌 nice one 🎉
@boltonw514 thanks mate and thanks for watching again... much more to come this year. Got this Saturdays parkrun at Heaton to go up next 👌.. I'll be mixing it up after this one tho and getting about 😁👍
Mike absolutely smashed his new year run. Massive props for putting down a good solid time on his first run back. Looking forward to seeing how he progresses 👌 We should get him some gels so he doesn't need to run with a coke grenade in his hand. Thanks for giving me a great pacing group to latch onto. I wouldn't have run my PB without it 🎉 It was completely unexpected. And more thanks for the shout out at the end too. Well done fella!
@TheRegularRunner thanks mate... really glad I found the footage to make this one. Really good for the memory's to look back on for me and what parkrun is all about. I lost sight of that a bit last year as was trying push for times all year. So great to get out and have a good chat with people including yourself. Mike did great... you seen us yesterday.. well I didn't even know Mike was coming but he made his way over again so I imagine he will be a regular this year... and he might get recognised aswell after this video 😆😁 Look forward to more in the NY. Hopefully you get the weather for that Alexandra effort. If ever you want pacing I am happy to help as watching other people reaching there goals is just as fulfilling as reaching my own 🙌
@whereweoffDAD That's amazing of you to offer. Thank you! I'll definitely bear it in mind. I know exactly what you mean though. I've allowed myself to get sucked into chasing times before now, but I was doing it all wrong and was racing too much and never focussing properly. This year im aiming for fewer races with better quality in my training, and that will allow me to spend some time just getting out and enjoying running for the sakes of it. I reckon that in the process ill also make better progress. I have managed to pace at parkrun a couple of times before now and also helped a couple of people to PBs in a couple of my B races last year. It always feels good to help out and see someone achieve their targets. 🎉
@TheRegularRunner yeh 100 percent. I think i only raced around 6/7 times last year but my training and efforts were all geared around them. It bore results but at the expense of the social and other benefits I used to get from running... Ive got a half block on the horizon but going to be mindful to include plenty of social runs this year and with the vlogging now coming into play we add a different element to it all. We will see how it unfolds...all good stuff tho mate 😁👍
