You sir are a fantastic teacher! Your style is VERY clear and does not get clouded with bullshit. I’m ABSOLUTELY impressed. Thanks for your time, I really appreciate it. Ben, Spokane wa.
Thanks for explaining these methods so clearly. I have been trying both of these methods for the past winter season and a bit for summer, and haven't caught one yet. The way you explain some of the finer details really helps.
Another tip I use when drifting, leave a tag end off the back of your egg loop and peg a bead or core on to it. Not seen alot and has been effective for a long time for me. Great ep. giys. Keep up the great work.
Thanks again for another great tutorial.I fished a lot of steelhead in the 1980s in SW Washington. After 30 years of not fishing your videos jogged my memory as to rigging and techniques.
Good morning Sunday 🌝... I wake up at 6:30 am, shower and breakfast ... now I'm ready to go to Sandy river ... 👍👍... I just learn how to do rig and catch , reel..... it's ok if no fish..😃😃... I used to it...👍👍.... I just watch my favorite Chanel..... and learn ...
I'd love to hear an in depth discussion on cures. There's a lot of stuff to choose on the market, but I always see guys concaucting their own recipes or combine pre made with their own. Also what type of eggs to cure when fishing for steelhead vs Chinook vs coho (if there is a difference?)
Super awesome man 🤙 today was my first day trying to drift or float from the bank and I was a mess! The Skykomish was running faster than I was set up for, I was making it over complicated, and I shouldn’t have even bothered with the float and just done drift. This video is super helpful - Thanks a million!
I don't fish for steelhead often, but I drift for catfish and I usually start the opposite, I start deeper and work my way up shallower, which is quite helpful because most of the cats I find will be anywhere between 3-10ft deep, a slip float and a 13ft centerpin combo work wonders for this
Nice video, this is the first video I have seen that use the same set up I have used for year's ( I'm 70) only I use @ 2" of 3/16 tubing on my snap swivel it's easier to change the length of the pencil lead and in case of a hang up the tubing and weight are lost not your rigging. I only use 8 lb green color line 6&8 size hooks year round. I'm on the Trinty River Hoopa CA.
Nice vid dude thanks again for the info. When i drift I use a lead ball under the swivel with a pretied stop knot so it doesnt slide down. It rolls down the river bottom nicely with a good feel. My buddy swears on using a 4 or 5' leader line but i like your shorter approach.
Awesome job. Very to the point, informative and all the main points. Perhaps a close up on how exactly you fastened the eggs to the hook. I saw the loop and the hook and eggs but not sure if you made the loop just around the eggs of also around the hook again. Thanks
To make life a bit easier and cleaner for you on the river use roe bags. They aren't often mentioned on this channel I guess they aren't as popular in the states? But they are definitely nice to have tied up instead of handling those messy globs of skein and they stay on the hook awhile longer. Tight lines!
Thanks man, i always wanted to catch steelhead, but they didn't even bite all season last year... i'm gonna give it one more try, but i think the bait is key, i've been using beads this whole time, but i really think the roe is key.
Thank you. Having a hard time seeing your "bumper" What exactly is it? It looks like your weight is attached to a snap, is there a short piece of mono between the snap and weight?
Thanks for the video question are you sticking to that size 2 hook only for stlhd or bumping it up to a 1 for quicker larger water and would a 1/0 hook be too big?
Love this video. I go down to cotter arkansas alot and have been wanting to try to catch some rainbows on the drift with a "steelhead rig". Also, I have never fished for steelhead I am from kansas. I have opportunities to go to milwaukee wi frequently. Have been wanting to hit the milwaukee river this year from foot trails. I'm curious if the fish will have moved into the river by thanksgiving, also if you have any suggestions on where to go in milwaukee? All I want is to catch 1 fish. Thanks
Hey I need help this season. Are there noob videos? I live in Oregon and been fishing the Columbia and up on the sandy river, but I don't want to do a noob thing and mess up. Are there any tips? or any things that usual new people do that shouldn't be done?
Hi y'all, I'e been wondering for quite some time what your ideal hook is for Coho jigs, i tie jigs and i can only find jigheads with Mustad 32833 2x Strength Aberdeen Hook or similar. Any ideas if those will withstand Coho or Chinook? Thanks.
Best vid on steelhead technique I've ever seen. I'm subscribing from Minnesota--at least until one of you West-coasters tries telling that anadromous rainbows from the Great Lakes aren't steelhead.
One o u addicts should take an old crippled addict fishing,I got my own tackle, waders ,raingear and experience,I just can't git there ,I and my wife love to fish .
Andy Anderson I know two creeks wishing an hour that show colour in almost ever pan. A good place is the Dawson city campground best colour I’ve seen ten steps from the tent
Can I use a circle hook? I don't mess with dozen sacs much I am here in a couple days and all I have it circle hooks. Will the circle hook actually fail to hook up with a hook set?
wish the old farts at the local hatchery wouldn't use 50lb mono to drift fish either... its like punishment for being a good fisherman when you have your presentation right along the bottom perfect and you feel it stop or a tug. oh wait its a mess of braid or 50 lb mono...
I was drifting a worm earlier this season when it felt like my line was being electrocuted. For some reason I never set the hook. Lol. Just curious if any of you have experienced this ?
I will drift my worm from time to time, until I find a sweet little cranny, then I'll take my worm and , first plunge and then lift, occasionally rotating. I'll continue to do this, repeating the maneuvers, you know , sometimes switching it up ... maybe do a half plunge, maybe a few half, or so, plunges .. . into a slow rotating lift. It works good .
Now you know how to catch them on roe... want to learn about hardware?! 🐟 👇

Love the explain and demonstrate method. Thanks for letting Jordan do these, the dude's got great presentation skills
Hands down, one of the best I've ever seen on fishing!
My favorite angler total pro deserves a trophy
You definitely seems knowledgable. Cant talk that fast about a topic without knowing what you're talking about. Thx for sharing.
Thanks! We hope you learned some stuff.

I add a loop so I can add 2 beads just past the shank - AKA Fenton fly

Gonna do it wrong but we’re gonna get after it! 🤙🏽
Had a bobber down but wasn’t paying attention I missed it, slow day seems like everyone got skunked
Tips helped so much thanks Jordan!
I'm fishing the North Fork too.Ive had some luck down river below Haapa launch drifting eggs and nightcrawlers.Happy fishing and good luck.
Knowledge and experience, communicated efficiently.. nothing critical left out.. can't ask for more.. now, go find some spots and target those fish!
Incredible. Thank you 🙏🏾 from new fisherwoman from Alaska.

Your a good teacher. Thanks for all the good tips and info. Planning to go to Erie to try my first experience at steelhead.
Jordan man ur a great teacher! Thanks. Still out trying my ass off to land that fist steelhead.

Well explained, great information.
Great video guys 👍 you guys should do a video on plunking for spring chinook or summer steelhead.
They already have one and it's excellent. Search addicted/Eric Swanson
Very informative as always Jordan!
Try putting a tiny bead on your bait loop makes life a little easier
S M O K E what does that do?
Make it easier to open up the loop?
@@TheWallman456 yes, some people use a little piece of yarn too
what braid line you use?
excellent job teaching!
Great info Jordan. Thanks to all of you Addicts for sharing your knowledge. Much appreciated.
Hi Jordan, do you ever fish the Vedder in Chilliwack, BC? I like your style.
I love your style man, great video! Helps a lot!
Fantastic video once again!
Hey Jordan, you da man! Good job on the explanation. Big fan. Thank you
Do you have a video showing how you cure your eggs? Those look amazing 👌🏿👌🏿👌🏿
We will get one going for you soon with Jordan!
Great job, Jordan!
Thank you.
Having a hard time seeing your "bumper" What exactly is it? It looks like your weight is attached to a snap, is there a short piece of mono between the snap and weight?
Love the spot, live right around the corner
How long of a buffer do you typically put between your braided line and the 3-way swivel that goes to the weight and leader?
Excellent video 👍. I'm a big fan of your channel
If fishing on deep water like 7 ft with high current , what's a correct weight to use for float fishing ?
I have a quick question, about how many yards of 30 lb braid does the c-40 hold, and y'all back it with mono at all? TIA
Glow bug and dip. Works evry time here on the klamath
You can run your line through wax and it will float very nicely so mending a bobber drift is just a flick of your tip.
Hey Addicts, wondering if you guys could make a how to make yarnies video, ive seen many ways , kinda curios to see how you guys make them
YOU FISH THE WAY I DO I HAVE MY39 1/2-18 LB ON THE WALL --THANK YOU
Not sure why it's absolutely terrible to leave some braid in the river but it's cool leaving lead sinkers in the river.
Great explanation!!!
love the video. thx a lot for all the info
your videos are really cool man keep up the good work What kind of rod are you using?
Great show keep it going .......

Thank you! What are you out fishing for with roe?
Can you use spawn sacs in place of egg clusters and egg knots?
hell yea! dont tell nobody though hahaha
Do you ever use or recommend a float line? And great video.

I usually use 8lb for salmon
And 5lb for steelhead
