Just saw your lovely video about your adventure at Herons. Great seeing you - sorry I couldn't spend more time with you as I had a thousand and one things to do over that weekend. You can camp again when you visit next time, but if there hadn't been so many people staying at our Guest House last weekend you wouldn't have had to sleep like a migrant in a leaky tent !! but it made for a good fun video. Good luck in all you do. Bonsai is about fun and you certainly captured that spirit .
Hi Peter! Great to see you too! I totally understand there was so many things to do on that weekend. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of my visit, even with the leaky tent it was all a part of the adventure! 😊Thanks again and I hope to visit you again!
What an adventure, Peter and Kevin put on an amazing event and all for a good cause! Adam went full Blair Witch, glad you made it back home alive, lol!!!
@@notionbonsai Rambling on and Stephen Reid...have a look at those channels and you will pick up a few camping tricks for our climate. :D Thanks for showing us the event.
I don't leave comments on UA-cam, but it looks like I have to type something here to send the "Thanks" money. Thanks for making this one-of-a-kind video to brighten my evening!
Thanks Adam. Great day has been had by all the people who where at the event plus like me the people watching your video. I visited Peter in the early 80s with my wife, then it was nothing like it is now, we had a chat with Peter, both he and my late wife had a connection through Hong Kong, they talked about the early days in the 50s and 60s. The range of trees at that time were limited so I only bought a very large piece of drift wood which I still have. All the best Adam.
@@notionbonsai Hi Adam, it’s not a shape that would lend itself to do a tanuki unfortunately, its actually two separate pieces bolted together, my idea and it’s been my idea for years is to plant it up but it’s a difficult shape to do that.
What an amazing event! The dead wood on those trees was simply stunning!! I would be so broke leaving his place!! Peter is an amazing man! He gives so freely of his time and knowledge and no doubt, funds to great causes like the Hospice Centers. My mother died at a hospice center around 2012. It was a fabulous place and I donated a quilt in my mother's memory, they have it hanging on a wall. But you got all the good stuff over there!! How fun this event looked!! Thanks for this video! Yes I would like to see more videos like this. But I think you need a water proof tent!! I can't believe they sell tents in the UK that are not water proof!😂😂
Thank you so much for sharing your story, it means a lot! Hospice centers do such incredible work, and it’s amazing that you donated a quilt in your mother's memory. I couldn’t agree more about Peter and his generosity and passion for bonsai are truly inspiring! I totally get you on the “broke” part leaving his place with an empty wallet is a real risk! 😂 I’ll definitely keep the videos coming, and you’re right about the tent! Next time, a waterproof one is top of the list! Thanks again for watching, and I’m so glad you enjoyed the video! 😊🪴
You are so lucky. I would have loved to have gone to that rain or not and what a great cause too. I hope you enjoyed yourself and I’m happy you didn’t float away in the storm because I’m looking forward to seeing what you’ll do with your Heron Bonsai purchases
I had a huge grin on my face during this whole video! I just started learning about bonsai and had subscribed to both you and Peter a few months ago. To see you together in real life was so crazy for me hahahaha! I can't wait to see you work on the cuttings you brought home from this event. Thank you for sharing your adventure and knowledge :)
Amazing to think Jelle and I were there a few days later and it was glorious bright sunshine. Lovely variety of content and fun to watch you collecting water :)
Adam such a great video. I'd have loved to been there. You guys looked like you had a blast. Peter is great. I'm saving my money to fly over and go to the nursery. Thanks for sharing my friend.

This looked like a great event. I hope you managed to pick up a nice tree or pot while you were there. Ps. I could have accommodated you in the back garden in a tent? Didn’t realise that was an option at the time 😂

How funny with he storm. One you should set up a tent at least once and wet it so it gets “seasoned “ which expands the weave of the material And also don’t touch such leaks it makes it leak more 😄. And those patches are for small rips. Also great video. A different perspective of herons. 👍👍👍🦘🇦🇺
