@@nikkisterling8209 No, but at least the girl can identify the blues within the rock. But, I think if you are going to do a reaction on a song, it is best to do some research on that song first to be prepared for whatever comes. Also, she needs to be a bit more articulate with her comments because just sitting there, laughing, and saying that was great just doesn’t cut it, which is why most people will tune in and listen to a few reactions, but will then shortly learn not to waste too much time of those comments are not better than awful.

I can imagine Lex seeing the Mona Lisa in the Louvre in Paris and being drawn into the portrait’s famous enigmatic smile, and Lex’s mind and soul drifting into a meandering journey as the vision takes her through layers of thought and emotion, only to be abruptly and suddenly shaken from her by Brad asking what she thinks the frame is made from 😂 I hope you appreciate this lady, mate. She’s got a phenomenal mind and soul. Seeing her experience these songs for the first time is simply joyous.

I had never heard the song, I had never heard a Zeppelin song to my recollection but I knew who it was. There's no mistaking their music for anyone else. So unique.

My sister told me, when I was 3, that SC didn't exist. She was 7 & someone told her & then she told me. Then, became the unfortunate moment where my parents grounded her for telling me the truth. My over achievers siblings would let me listen to their albums when they were not at home. So, a few years later, my sister bought LZ IV. The awkward sisters fights we had where I would throw out how she ruined SC for me but then realizing that I'm the person that made her original LZ IV skip several times on every song.

Once you know the song and how it's "supposed" to sound, listening to the live version and seeing the artists perform is really cool, but without that reference point a lot of older live songs just don't sound nearly as good as studio versions.

Page's guitar is a twin neck, the top neck a 12 string, with a standard six string below. It allows him to change over within the song to get a different sound without switching actual guitars. Page was first to really use it live, but many others followed over the years. This was the legacy tune of our era for those of us who grew up in the 60's and 70"s. This entire live album was and still is absolutely incredible.

Brad on the other hand is mainly here for the breath of the wild ride dragon? So Lex is here now to burn off some remaining bad Karma and is here accumulating a wealth of human experiences? NO OTHER SONGS ... and it drove us crazy.

I became almost obsessed with learning how to play it note for note and to my surprise one of my best friends was nice enough to find me the music.

Regarding the guitar, that's something Jimmy Page designed specifically for this song. The top fret board is a 12 string and the bottom a 6 string. He needed both to be able to do the song right (as he wrote it) and so he had that double guitar made to suit what he needed. The guy is a maestro. Nobody has ever played guitar better than he does but he is also a master of arrangement and simply and all around brilliant musician. If he had chosen classical style music as his path, he would be as famous for that as Bach, Handel, Mozart, Vivaldi or any other classical composer. The man knows music in ways that most people don't understand. That's why Led Zeppelin is the greatest rock band ever.

I lived through this period and they were the ultimate for me. I'm impressed you finally mentioned the wild guitar Brad. A little grass and listening to the lyrics in a darkened room would give you a clearer understanding . The guitar with the two necks has a 6 string and a 12 string. This performance comes from the concert film "The Song Remains The Same", filmed over three nights at Madison Square Garden in 1973, the film was released in 1975 and became a staple of the midnight movie circuit.
Lyrically, the song is about a woman who is trying to buy her way in to heaven (the stairway being metaphorical), but finds that the money she's given to the Church can't and won't guarantee her passage into heaven. The lyrics are extremely metaphorical rather than being literal, with the different sections extending and expanding the metaphor as it goes, closing in much the same way that it began with the lyrics that were thoughtful becoming almost a lament.
The double-neck guitar that Jimmy Page uses here is a twelve string upper neck and a six string lower neck. This allowed Page to shift from the mostly clean sound of the twelve string to the much more distorted sound of the six string.

The store employee, just stops him and points to the sign saying 'NO Stairway To Heaven'. Wayne turns around to look and then looks back at the camera to say 'No Stairway... Denied!'. Great movie with a great sequel too. Æx 🙏

Lex is a jam-band girl at heart! If you could imagine a river and the chords were floating down the middle, Lex would jump in and ride the music wave! Meanwhile dear Brad stands at the water's edge and just watches her go! lol. It is fun watching how the music in these jam sessions just hit you, Lex. I FEEL the music like you do. It is a journey! ❤️ You two are GREAT!

Robert Plant's "teapot" stance is so cool - and when the band played live, they basically jammed each song off one another, like magic.

Honestly, I find it the other way round. In the live version the solo really comes to life for me, as Jimmy improvises and goes for it - this version is at least 4 minutes longer than the studio version. Either way, greatest song ever written.

I agree 100% the studio version was much better. When a solo goes on for way too long it loses it's luster and makes it less special. The studio solo was so well put together and doesn't overstay its welcome. Plus the progression of the studio solo is perfection. This live version is just all over the place.

Lex is a Rock Goddess. Period. She FEELS that shit.To get the song, you gotta read some Crowley, some Tolkien and plenty of Vedanta philosophy: it's NOT a "baby-making" song ( or is it...lol ). IMO the real meaning is in the last couple of stanzas. Listen carefully. And Lex gets it again: the song does take you somewhere.

Each member of Led Zeppelin is a legend; however, at its root Led zEppelin was formed as a means for the guitarist Jimmy Page to express himself. He was the big star prior to the band being founded and he founded the band.

Page was a well known session player and the third lead guitar player in the Yardbirds, but both Beck and Clapton were bigger stars when Zeppelin was founded.

@@johnsilver8059 Both Beck and Clapton had left the Yardbirds and had careers beyond that band when the Yardbirds morphed into Led Zeppelin. Page was third in terms of succession, and where he sat in '72 is more applicable to Clapton's and Beck's positions in 1969.

That is the greatest solo ever. It's not technically dazzling with finger gymnastics, but that is the point. You don't have to be a shredder to play a world class solo. In fact most shredders couldn't play anything that musical. Jimmy is speaking through the guitar and that is the hardest thing to do in music. If you can speak your soul through an instrument, then you have mastered it.
