Great job Steve . Always great to see you save a piece of history for future generations to enjoy or just show the grand kids what an old gas station used to look like.
Good luck moving this cool building! It would be cool if you could show some pictures or video of you building the building originally if you have some any.
In the 1960s our local government imminent domained our family farm/orchard owned since the mid 1800s so they could build a community college. My dad put some beams under the long ranch style home and put it all on some dually tractor trailer wheels. He dragged it over a mile through the fields with his bulldozer and placed it on its new foundation all by himself. With no damage to the house. Done by a man with a 6th grade education and a gimp leg from polio.
Love it! There's no such thing as too much scrap steel, the steel's never the problem the shed/garage/block is just too small...............you may not use it for 20 years but you will eventually regret it if you throw it out..........
Make sure you measure the total height and you'll be able to get a route to get you there .check with over size load truck comp for how you get a route.
He's not getting paperwork to move this. I'm sure he drove the route prior and measured every overpass and every wire so he already knows his height limit. At 2am in the morning the traffic will be light and that's when he will move it. Come morning people will think he had a helicopter drop it off.
Omg just call ndot for permitt 17 ft wide is easy I will cost u about 100$ on the other hand if u get caught or block the hwy it will be 10's thousands dollars possible jail time if people get hurt 17ft is 1 pilot car in neveda not like yiu don't got the $$$
