I could watch you build stuff all day….no only your skills , but the blueprint that’s in your head to bring it all together ! Sometimes I surprise myself with my limited abilities as a builder…….then go to Home Depot for parts and forget where I parked…..thanks Jimmy !….
ASMR!!! A full story in less than 15 minutes! Been a Jimmy fan for a long time and this video did not disappoint. Great workmanship and awesome result.
Wow Jimmy, that door is a huge improvement in the look of the basement entrance! Now it looks like someone cares what it looks like. The Lincoln CNC plasma table is a sweet tool.
Great project. Really enjoyed the video. The only verbal occurs at about 9:20, and just about sums up almost everything else on UA-cam! Keep up the goodness.
What a lot of non makers of things don’t realize is that before you make something you first have to make it in your head. Knowing then that things are conceived and made in stages. Experience means that fewer mistakes get made, but mistakes are all part of the process.
Looks great. But my mission now, is to get Jimmy to try and tick the "maintain audio pitch" checkbox when selecting to speed up footage in Final Cut Pro or iMovie to get that sweet lower pitch audio sound instead of the high pitch sped up sound! 😂 C'mon Jimmy, try it! You'll love it.
Like the door, love the latch! My parents’ 1922 house has a smaller, more machined one installed on an interior door. Never seen one like it ever again until I saw yours here!
Ah, is there a better start to a Sunday morning than classic DiResta build? I missed this type of videos from Jimmy! No talking, just getting on with it, well, maybe besides the little „oh shit” when he realised it’s rather heavy. It does motivate me, so today I’m going to the garage and I’ll be working with my boy on his motorbike! All the best Jimmy, from cold England!
That is so cool!! I knew you were going to tack the nuts on the straps!! Don't know how you moved that by yourself... Must be wicked strong!! GREAT Job!!
I realized what I liked about the no voice videos. It’s a surprise what you are making and how you make it. I also like when you talk, but maybe that would be best for a video where it’s straight forward. Either way it’s fun to watch.
9:22 i made one completely from metal a year ago. The jamb from 2 pieces of 4 mm square pipe welded together. Did the exact same thing, overstepped or tripped, the whole thing came on top of me. I didn't get squashed like a bug because it struck the wall on the other side. 100% Buster Keaton moment.
Nothing makes me happier than when Jimmy makes his own hardware. 😊
Ahh almost like the old intro in the city
Just about to say this.. Full Circle
13:37 Door slams shut and music stops.I was so hoping for the music to start back up when you opened the door. LOL Great job Jimmy!
I was waiting for that too! LOL
Sunday morning, coffee and a classic Diresta. Thanks Jimmy!
Same!
I might have said it before, but I love it when there's a new Diresta video in my feed. It's very inspiring and entertaining to watch your videos.
Walking down to that basement door gives some old Tavern vibes. Very aesthetically pleasing.
Love it! I thought from the intro, that the new door was framed in wood. Back at the shop, steel!! Love it!
No Kill Like OVERKILL. thanks Jimmy

Love the subtle detail of the two boards you laid on the steps to slide the door down. Genius.
Nicely done and matches the stonework. Looks good, Jimmy.
That door is amazing! Looks super strong! Love the design and skill you put into making it! Well done Jimmy!
Now THAT'S what I call heavy metal! Nice work!

Perfect solution for that space. Looks exactly like it was always there.
Nothing like a Sunday morning getting to watch Jimmy work his magic making a basement door! 👍👍🔨🔨
I love combining wood and steel. Well done jimmy. 👍

Fabulous! The door to the mysterious secrets of the house, many will have come & gone, but none through such a splendid portal! Thank you for sharing!
Отличная работа! Спасибо Джимми. Смотрю тебя уже 12й год
Once again a masterful job at creating and showing a step by step process of your work. Love your channel.
Mad props! Always enjoy when you combine wood and steel! A classic combination indeed!

NO!
😁
So,etching so utilitarian as a basement door can be so simple to the era and so beautiful
wood and steel, my favorite combo that you do
What a lovely bit of pastiche overlayed with inimitable Diresta style. Awesome. ❤
Love watching you build. pure genius.
Come on Jimmy I can’t be the only one who was enjoying the sound of the banjo over the slicing steel. Great door though.
I've watched you make lots of doors and gates and this one is my favourite.
Amazing skills Diresta ! Wood and metal with style.
Love the fact that you made the latch too! Always a great video.
Great job Jimmy
Having hit my head on that header, glad the door has been replaced so beautifully. ❤🔥
Imagine what Jimmy would make if it was the front door of the house! Man, this door looks awesome.
Looks great, and will outlast most of us, watching this.
Like the door, love the latch! My parents’ 1922 house has a smaller, more machined one installed on an interior door. Never seen one like it ever again until I saw yours here!

Jimmy you are a master crafter and I love watching you work with different mediums, especially on one project.❤
The king of retroactive precision
Great stuff, looks great with the dry stone walling ✌
What a great feeling it must be, need something…..make something. As always, well done.
TIL how to make my own door and handle. Always giving ideas to the less experienced!
If that’s what the basement door looks like, imagine how beautiful the rest of the house will be
That’s a solid looking door. The house is being coming along.
As always, great job Jimmy D.
Great build that will last a lifetime.
Beautiful door Jimmy beautifully done
Im a simple man, Jimmy D posts a video and I stop everything I am doing just to watch.
9:17 Oh Jimmy, I've been watching you for many years and there was a time when you would carry a door like that under your arm to its place.
Great video, love the edit. Door is gorgeous, love the spot welds. Impressive manhandling the install by yourself. Mahalo for sharing! : )
I would get to the hinge part and weld one on backwards. 😂
As always a great vid with little bits of learning to take away. Thanks for sharing,
That's a pretty serious door, great project Jimmy.
Great job as always , hi from Poland
That door will last a 100 maybe 200 years. Another slamming video brother great job.

Lovely jubbly Jimmy👍
Well done, Jimmy! Now I need to find a way to hire you to build some for my basement.
