@@norbertocarcamo7364 Its nothing like encre noir sport lol... man eau fraiche is like every other fresh scent... I layer that with Nautica Voyage and its the perfect blend... I have Versace Dylan blue and Pour homme and bought backup bottles
I’m 51 and just got into the fragrance game… I’m about to 30 bottles in my collection… I find I like vetiver, not in love with cedar, so I took a flyer on this one given the rave reviews. Thanks! Update: just received… excellent recommendation! Starts off very woody, but dries down to a nice watery citrus with a woody back bone
I love the original Encre Noire. When I received Sport I just stood for 5 minutes smelling and saying ‘wow’ to myself. I just ordered another bottle for €18. That’s an absolute steal for a fragrance of this quality. Encre Noire is a designer fragrance, but if it was released by a niche house and ten times as expensive I would still buy it. I still prefer the smell of the OG, but Sport is far more accessible and safer for most men I guess.
Just ordered a bottle today and can’t wait to try it. I was about to order Encre Noir but a little bit of research that fragrance is more suited for fall and winter time and right now spring and summer is coming up so I chose Encre Noir Sport. Great review I’m subscribed 👍🏾
Encre Noire Sport punches WAAAY above its weight for what it does, especially compared to other woody aromatics like Montblanc Starwalker, Versace Man Eau Fraiche, Calvin Klein Truth etc. I still prefer Guerlain Vetiver because it’s a bit richer and higher quality, but I find Encre Noire Sport to be more wearable in hotter weather, since it isn’t as sweet. My two favorite sub-30 dollar woody aromatic and citrus aromatic choices are Encre Noire Sport and Rochas Eau De Rochas Pour Homme. The other woody aromatics I wear are Guerlain Homme L’Eau Boiseé and Issey Miyake L’Eau Bleue D’Issey, but my current favorite fresh fragrance I own is Bvlgari Man Wood Neroli.
I blind bought this and I love it. Such a wonderful balance of woody elegance and citrusy freshness. It's a nice, unique addition to my collection. And I agree with you that you continue to get more out of it the more you wear it. Thanks for the recommendation.
@@UrbanDwellerNYC Wow. I just sprayed both of them to compare and I see what you mean. After its initial citrus blast settles down, Bergamote 22 becomes very similar to Encre Noire Sport. I recently picked up a sample set from Le Labo, and although I love Bergamote 22 (I love bergamot in general), I can't justify buying a full bottle. It's always nice to have an affordable alternative without compromising quality.
I love all 3, especially the extreme version. After listening to many scents, much more expensive, only these have caused delight. Especially the sport version, so natural grapefruit and citrus fruits, very beautiful. Now I actively use Extreme, the same delight, I want to inhale and inhale. The classic version is good too, but the collection should have all 3. Bravo Nathalie Lorson!
Love it. It's just sublime. Very fresh and equally grounded by the vetiver note. A beautiful composition. My only problem with it is that it's too subtle and doesn't project that much.
Really? That’s good to know! I guess everyone’s skin chemistry is different because projection was fairly good for me. It does beat out many summer citruses. I’m gonna be doing a comparison with the original and extreme versions soon :)

So im, in a way, regretting buying this but on a positive note, i needed to re-up on a new bottle of eau fraiche. So i don't need to do that now. But now i will spent those $30-40 to buy the original Lalique Encore Noire. Maybe i will be satisfied with that one. If not then I'll turn to the extreme version
I've bought 60+ frags in the last 3 months. Over 5k worth haha! My gf isn't happy... wearing Encre noire sport right now. It's pretty strong at first but smells nice on the dry down. I love Givenchy Gentleman cologne. Best vetiver by far I reckon! So classy!
Alright, you talked me into this one and Lalique Pour Homme (Lion version?). They were both on sale at Fragnet, so I had to pick them up to try. They sound right up my alley. Thanks and keep up the great reviews, they are very practical and to the point and I appreciate this type of review(er).
I replaced creed original vetiver with lalique encre noir Sport. Its that good... Fresh vetiver all through from top to middle to dry down, Hidden gem definitely.
Certainly a good frag for those getting into the game… won’t break your budget and it’s some pretty high niche-level quality. Actually, the house, Lalique has some other really good bang-for-your-buck finds (btw… all of Bentley car fragrances are an off-shoot of Lalique). I will say, as my noise has matured throughout the years, I appreciate Encre Noir Sport much more. If you want something that’s in the same vein, but slightly more polished and dark, I’d go with Sycomore from Chanel. However, that is in Chanel’s exclusif line and isn’t really suitable for anyone in their late teen to early 20s. Overall, this was an on-point review and I do agree with Encre Noir Sport being something that is noticeably synthetic when studied closeup, but comes off very natural when picked up through the day and wafted from the skin.
