Hi! I’m a 21 year old Italian girl andI’ve been taking Zoloft (50 mg) for three months now. I suffered from severe depression, anxiety and binge eating.
I constantly isolated myself from people and my life was a nightmare so I finally dedicate to take this medication.
I feel so much better and I’m socialising a lot more than before. I feel like I’m living my life.
I surprisingly lost a lot of weight, maybe because I stopped binging all day.
    Mental health is so important.

I’ve dealt with anxiety, depression, body dysmorphia, ocd, and who know how many other things for ~10 years and I’ve never been treated. I’ve dealt with it in silence and if people only knew what went on in my head I’d probably be in a psych ward, and I wouldn’t complain (if I’m being honest), many times I’ve desperately wanted to be admitted into one. Anyways, I had an appointment yesterday with a new pcp and he sent me the prescription; I just took half of a 50mg, it’ll be that for a week and then 50mg for 82 days and after reading these comments, I’m terrified.
Update: I’m one week in and I haven’t felt like this in years… I felt like I was woken up from a spell and I’m slowly recovering and feeling like myself again, I’m feeling calm and concentrated. Every day I feel better 🙌🏻

Been taking anti depressants so far and it has improved the quality of life. But here is the twist folks: MEDICATION is not going to SOLVE all of your PROBLEMS. YOU have to put in the inner work so that the medication can work with you, you have to help yourself first before the medication helps you, here are some couple methods I think that can help improve the quality of your life:
      1. Getting a new job
      2. Cut out toxic friends and make new ones
      3. Stop chasing relationships
      4. Start making decisions for yourself
      5. Control your ego, treat every person you come across in life with equal respect regardless of what position or status he or she holds
      6. Go back to school, get an education learn a new skill
      7. Make decisions for yourself, if you wanna do it, do it, if you don’t then don’t
      8. Delete or limit social media (this is literally the biggest reason why people have so much anxiety and depression these days)
      6. Stop chasing the approval of others.
      7. Stop watching stupid videos or music that revolve around anxiety or depression (self help bs)
Do all of this, take your medication, and your life will improve.

People with depression can typically take large amounts of caffeine. I manage my symptoms with as much as 8-10 shots of espresso per day. Now I have been prescribed Sertraline , and I am nervous to take it with such high amounts of caffeine, yet doctors never mention caffeine. Why is this ? Been on setraline for 7 month now it genuinely took 5 months to work at a level where I could actually say life was a bit better. I could feel it doing something from week 2 but it felt like I was trapped in the breaking bad meth lab it can still be like that from time to time. It's not working great for depression but less suicidal thoughts and tears. And I suffer from panic attacks and intense fear and hypersensitivity to just about any noise and all these have toned down a bit. I'm thinking up upping the dose to 100mg but I think you have to know when to hold them know when to fold them and from what I have seen with many other people on a higher dose very few have a better reaction but some do. I just feel upping my dose is cutting out a future option if the medication starts to poop out. Ultimately I will never be completely right as I haven't been in 30 years medication or not. I'm wired incorrectly and that's that I try to work on acceptance that this is the way its going to be and that I have to live with GAD and MMD . shit happens hey. Fight against yourself to feel good.. don't listen to a doctor who has only been a doctor for 5 mins an wants to prescribe sumthink to you because they can. Do everythink befor you go to a doctor and have these chemical based drugs. Take vitamins, work out,buy a dog,get you brows done. Clean you bedroom get hair cut, Just don't put something in your body.. That is forgein and not organic. It's a synthetic fix in my eyes and slows you down.. I feel like I could of tried harder for my self when I younger. Don't go down my road guys. Be better then me

I hope you are doing fine, i used to take zoloft for around 1 year. I had the worst emotional trauma , i experienced thousands of symptoms, no sleep , taking sleeping pills etc. Getting out of zoloft was really difficult, but i managed to do it. If you want to remove zoloft, i can help you, it might take a couple of weeks , but you will get rid of it successfully...

You can try breathing exercises, therapy that focuses on CBT and even exposure therapy. Tapping may also be helpful. If all that fails you can ask your doctor about propranolol to treat this.

Im actually only a week into my medication (started at 25 mg for a week, just started 50 mg from now on) and i already feel radically different. Definitely have aome side effects but i dont think its worth losing the happiness im feeling right now over them. Ive been on about 5 different ssris and they usually seem to work for a few months, and then my depression would come back in extreme ways, like being suicidal every moment of every day. Then i weened off went without for about a year. I was mostly an angry, reclusive person with absolutely no desire to interact with anyone. Just talked to a new doctor who prescribed this to me because of my general anxiety, so I'm hoping this trend stays.
