Never had a hard landing with Ryan. Moreover I dare to say Ryanair pilots are better at landings than long haul pilots as they sometimes land two or even three times a day while those long haul guys only get a couple of landings a month.

This seems like a very good exercise for manual handling, procedure turns and flying on the edge of alpha while keeping a good vertical speed and situational awareness, with all automation off. Truly shows the difference between a simmer and a pilot 😅

I recommend using the -600 variant for this airport. I've had good success with that plane even with a little bit of a payload. Run engines at half power before going down the slope, then engage full power with the 26k thrust rating enabled and flaps at 20°.

Ok, now it's demonstrated that's possible to land A320'ies and 737's on Lukla. Maybe they can now replace their old Twin Otters by Airliners. 🙂 If they once build a cable car to the top of the Mount Everest, this might be required to get all the tourists there! 🙂

Is the drag profile accurate on the pmdg 738 for the flap settings? For example, I find on approach with flap 30 and flap 40 I have to have about 70% n1 and sometimes more to maintain speed on approach.

@@ikennamadueke9131 I'm not sure, when manually flying I've noticed even if I'm above the glideslope and pitching forward to recapture the glideslope that I still have to maintain a fairly high N1. Maybe it's realistic for flap 40.
