I'm from the US and our music doesn't come close to BAND-MAID. I found them nearly 4 years ago and they've changed music for me forever! Any and all BAND-MAID reactions will be greatly appreciated. If you do BAND-MAID covers, I'll most certainly be there.
Best rock band on the planet. I tell this story a lot but it's true. These young ladies saved my love of rock n roll and music in general that I lost long ago. I saw their "Thrill" video early last year and it grabbed my attention. Then I heard the first 15 seconds of "Dice", which hooked me ever since. These young ladies have worked so hard to hone their skills and get their name out there. They formed the band themselves, write and compose their own music. They play kick ass rock and do so with smiles on their faces as they just love what they do, each other and their fans. Anything you choose off their official channel is a good choice, they just don't make bad music and have incredible range.
It’s not very often you hear of stories like this and I love it! I’m glad they’ve restored your love of rock n roll and music! I agree, the craftsmanship involved is nothing but awesome!
my first video was Dice and like you when i heard that rhythm section of MISA and Akane in the intro that was it game over they became my favorite band. for the 1st time decades i bought a rock album and within months i had all their available albums and concert dvd (minus 1 that was included in the special edition of their single "daydreaming"). you found early last year? were you lucky enough to see their early live videos like "moratorium", "don't you tell me" , "take me higher" etc? those are fire. if you haven't and would like to i have them all in my drive and can send you links to anyone of those.
It's unfortunate to see comments like this. Keep saying like "you don't have to understand the lyrics, just enjoy the music" is rude and disrespectful to the singer and lyricist.
@@一般人-e8x it's not. In this case there are subtitles so the point is moot, but you CAN enjoy music without understanding the lyrics and *still* appreciate those same lyrics to the best of your ability. Poetry (in the largest sense), especially when sung, isn't just about content but also about delivery and sonority, two aspects Saiki is a master at. "Rude and disrespectfull" in this context sounds like gatekeeping on your part to me.
Best band... They are so pure! Nothing fake, they really love what they are doing, love each other and their fans! They also write their songs since 2016 and there is no other band with such a workrate, just look up how many music they´ve produced in 7 years, it´s mindblowing and on top of that, there is no song you would think: It´s bad or just "okay". The real strength however is being on stage and serving the music LIVE! So much work goes into it, with extra solos, intros, outros, bridges... They always SURPRISE their fans (masters and princesses) with new ideas. I could go on for ages WHY Band-Maid is incredible and outstanding, but just enjoy the music and you will sucked into the pigeon hole and understand it! Greetings from Germany
I discovered Band-Maid maybe two years ago and would now consider them to be my favourite band of all time honestly. Enjoy your journey into the world of the maids. Ain’t seen nothing yet.
I love how everyone is discovering these bands and making them their faves, it’s really refreshing we can all appreciate music that’s considered out of the “norm”.. Thank you, I’m looking forward to my adventures 😁
Welcome to the world of Band Maid, best band on planet Earth today! These ladies will amaze you and boggle your mind with how versatile and talented they are. I suggest "Choose Me" live from the same show (has CC) 🎶🎸🥁🎸🎶🔥🙂
Maid in Japan In my country (Canada), at school, music lessons are limited to playing plastic flute. But in Japan, music lessons at school are serious: guitar, bass, drum, violin, and a whole bunch of instruments. And after school they gather at Karaoke to take turns singing. And then we're surprised that thousands of bands are swarming in the dark concert halls throughout Japan.
Welcome aboard, Josh. You are embarking on (along with many others - 110 million YT views!) an awesome hard-rock journey with 5 incredible women. Here's my intro blurb for those who may be new to Band-Maid:
BAND-MAID’s songs and sound beat with the heart and soul of all rockers. But you’ll also hear heavy influences of Punk, Metal and Pop, with nice touches of Blues, Jazz, Funk and Grunge. Sometimes they use multiple genres within the same song. Their Composition, Execution, Consistency (115 songs with their latest album, “Unseen World”), Uniqueness, Charisma, Charm and, oh yeah, Cuteness factor, position them as becoming the hard rock Beatles of our time! In other words, they’re destined for mega-stardom. Each member's personalities are super interesting and their musicianship among the best. Their writing, arrangements and overall sound, especially guitar tones and drums, are kick-ass! Having seen them LIVE, I can honestly say their performance, sound, stage appearance, and band synergy is off the rails spectacular. Band-Maid is the only band in decades where I love nearly EVERY song they’ve done. I have over 70 favorites! "Thrill" (2014) is a great place to start: ua-cam.com/video/Uds7g3M-4lQ/v-deo.html Their later songs from albums Unseen World, Conqueror, World Domination, and Just Bring It drive even more - Warning, No God, H-G-K, Black Hole, Different, Rinne, Blooming, Moratorium, Domination, Clang, Dice, Spirit, Turn Me On, Fate, Play, Hide-And-Seek, Secret My Lips, Puzzle, Glory, Choose Me, I Can’t Live Without You, and on and on. But don’t miss out on their powerful, beautifully written, mid-tempo songs like Daydreaming, About Us, Anemone, Endless Story, PAGE, Mirage and Smile... or more punky like After Life, Don’t Let Me Down and Screaming… or funky like Bubble… or bluesy like Manners and The Dragon Cries… or poppy like Start Over… or a bit jazzy like Wonderland… or cultural like the Band-Maiko series… or instrumentals like Don’t Be Long, Onset, Without Holding Back and Going Nuts! And many are represented with over 35 well produced music videos. ua-cam.com/users/BANDMAID Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE concerts such as Tokyo's LINE CUBE SHIBUYA on February 14th (“Domination” ua-cam.com/video/QbyQCJn6rYg/v-deo.html), ZEPP 2018, Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 and some of the better 2019 tour Fan vids. Here’s three of what it’s like to see Band-Maid LIVE at super intimate venues. The first taken by Vladimir Chupin in Hamburg: ua-cam.com/video/__1th7ctgMo/v-deo.html, the second taken by JT Dayo in LA: ua-cam.com/video/4uIYBkAybCI/v-deo.html, and third, JOSER8845 in LA: ua-cam.com/video/usWZvlGGDSs/v-deo.html. If you like Band-Maid, make sure to support them by purchasing some concert tickets, CD, DVD/BD & Merch, etc. bandmaid.tokyo Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid. For fun, check out an awesome, little known "Mega Band-Maid Mix" by DJ Ray of some of their earlier stuff: facebook.com/djrayboston/videos/1004709499579009 Band-Maid members are: (Ages are best est.). Saiki Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “Ice Queen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies. At 27 and the youngest, “Sensei” (Teacher) as band members call her, has the last word on many musical decisions. High-heels or sneakers, Sai-chan’s smile melts away her sometimes perceived, coldish persona. Saiki’s powerhouse performances, charisma, and voice focus the experience that’s driven her to the top echelon of hard rock frontwomen... or frontmen! Miku Kobato (Me-Ku) "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, vocals, lyricist, 29 years old. “Koba”, as Saiki calls her, is the Band founder and a firecracker MC & PR SpokesPigeon, po! Her “Magic Spell Time” charm and energy ignite the room. Kuruppo! No, no, no… KURUPPO!! Kanami Tono (Ka-Na-Me) “Princess” - Lead guitar, keyboards, 29 years old, is a prolific writer of most Band-Maid material. Kanami (translates “Song Wave”) is a possessed riff-slayer who’s so damn adorable it hurts. The only thing you want from Mincho is more! Akane Hirose (A-Ka-Nay) "Gorilla" - Drums, 30 years old, band energizer & co-clown with MISA. Achi’s talents include massive consumption of noodles and bananas, of course, (even during performance!) while revolutionizing rock drumming with relentless drive, dynamics and the kick. This “DrumRilla” is the Party! MISA (Me-Sa) "Barefoot Assassin" - Bass, 28 years old. An alluring free spirit driving her 5-string to rapturous low-ends while pulling off surprising counter leads with Kanami, off-stage MISA is the band’s goofball ballerina. Sometimes seen as the Mysterious One because she lets her instrument do the talking, the Assassin literally kills it… every note.. uniting Band-Maid’s world-class rhythm section. Thank you for the welcome, I feel welcomed! All that info is so interesting and insightful, I love how you’ve broken the music into genre sections, it’s ace! Massive thank you for the the info on the band, the breakdown on how to pronounce their names is really helpful, I’m so bad at Japanese pronunciations, should hear my in my native tongue, I’m even worse haha! I’m also glad you put a link to their website too, I was having issues looking for it before!
The reason you didn't notice the clothes is because you were blown away by their music. I myself just see an awesome band. Try their song Real Existence (LIVE)

From a one year old MAIDIAC, welcome aboard the Band Maid train. LIVE are the best. Thrill, ONSET, Play, Freedom, Blooming, about us, moratorium, ....20+ more
Love seeing new people discover the girls! Reminds me of when I first found them and was annoyed at myself for not finding them sooner. Literally they have reignited my love of music by themselves. They've got a huge discography for a relatively new band too. 7 albums in 7 years (8 if you count their April fools project Band-Maiko). They have a live online stream coming up soon (10th May) that I highly request checking out. These ladies know how to put on a show! Great reaction and thanks for promoting the girls 👍🏻
It's nuts they've released so much music in such a short space of time... The only band that currently comes to mind to of done something like that was The Beatles. Think it was like 7 albums in 10 years?! If I'm not mistaken!
By far my favorite rock/hard rock band out right now. These ladies are legit! React to anything from them, it all rocks! They really shine in their live videos. I would check out your cover songs for sure! Keep Rocking!!! ✌🏻🤘🏻
IMHO the problem with western bands today is that they seems faded even from the start. At the opposite, all those amazing japanese bands (female especially) have obvious passion and the will to share it with their audience. I've seen Band-Maid live two years ago and as an audience member it was the best concert of my life (and as a musician one of the best, taking into account that I saw many of the greatest bands on earth). I hope to see them again, as well as Nemophila, Lovebites, Gacharic Spin, Mutant Monster, Brats, (guita) Rei, Hanabie and many others (not only japanese, can't wait for the third The Warning album).
Yanno what, that’s a very interesting perspective on western music and thinking about it, it makes perfect sense! I think that’s why I’ve liked all Japanese music I’ve listened to, like OOR, Babymetal, Fear and Loathing. It’s all so energetic and incredible! You’ve seen them live? You’re so lucky! I’m hoping that when gigs return I get chance to see a lot of these bands I’m reacting to cause it’s amazing!
@@IVITURNERIVI band maid has been doing live shows online for their fans. They literally just did one, and released literally yesterday the live performance of Warning, from their newest album. The official video is also available to watch. Absolutely sick song
Welcome to the best all around rock band on the planet! Every individual in this band has a fundamental role in creating this sound, thanks to Japan for the maids and other great bands that eclipse the rest of the tired old non rock world.
Haha, don't worry about not noticing about the maid outfits right away. So many have had that happen to them that they didn't notice the most obvious thing until very late. :) Yes, these ladies should be kept on your radar if you're into good rock music. For many, they are by far the best the rock genre has to offer at the moment. Thanks to their enormous talent, which is not, as so often, limited to one or two members, but applies to every single one of these ladies without exception, they very successfully combine long-forgotten elements from various rock genres and give them a modern touch. Believe me, you will be surprised how varied their catalog is. And since the ladies have been performing as a band for 8 years already, it is well filled. To complete the trio of their most popular live performances, next on your agenda should be the songs 'Play' and 'Freedom'. In addition, I just randomly recommend the MVs of 'Dice' and 'Manners', which are good examples for the mentioned variety. Actually, you can click on any video from their channel and you won't be disappointed. :) 【 'Our rock never dies, ever. Forever!' - Band-Maid 】
I was just in pure awe of them to notice at first haha.. I think I'm just gonna be reacting to a lot of their music to be honest and I'm really looking forward to it!
Followed B-M since 2016...and being there live once in 2018 oh yeah they really "in your face" moment that struck me like dmmmmm.."I'm done'' 😭😭🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️
One of my favorite things lately is watching people check out the Maids, and seeing their smile just increase by a mile when the chorus kicks in. Doesn't matter who you are, you can't help but grin at how much their shit just fucking slaps.
Lol - welcome to the long and very pleasurable journey that is going through Band Maid's catalogue of hits! You will not be disappointed I promise! Enjoy the ride! Looking foward to seeing your next BM reaction! Oh, and make sure you check out their alter ego 'Band Maiko' as well! You may also be interested in the bsnds Nemophila and Mutant Monster if you haven't already checked them out! 👍😁🤘
To rock bands everywhere Band Maid have once and for all proved to that to be a great rock band you do not need to be; arrogant, moronic, unwashed , illiterate, anti social etc. You just need immense talent, a great sense of style and performance, huge musical ability and above all enjoy the whole performance.
Welcome to the world (aka: Rabbit Hole) of Band Maid! You will become a MAIDIAC! BAND MAID calls it THE GAP! there's a gap between how someone appears and what they do, it draws attention. Some people find it attractive. Miku has said that was what she was going for. KANAMI TONO - LEAD GUITAR Miku Kobato - RHYTHM GUITAR Misa - BASS GUITAR Akane Hirose - DRUMS Saiki - VOCALS They are a very talented group. They are all well trained in various instruments. There is not a bad song from BAND MAID - 7 Albums and many singles to date. REAL EXISTENCE - AFTER LIFE - ABOUT US (a song for us the fans!) - PLAY - BLOOMING - DICE - All great songs! All songs are on Spotify! Try ARCADIA GIRL - FREEZER - MATCHLESS GUM
nice!! i like your suggestions of those last 3 arcadia girl being one of my all time faves and matchless gum so underrated freezer the best dual vocals. i can tell i am in the presence of a true blue Madiacs lol
@@frankgonzalez4853 I have them on Spotify in the car. Very difficult to not get tickets!!! Hopefully I can get concert tickets before you buy them all! lol
In a world of mumble rap and vapid auto tuned pop stars... these ladies give me hope for humanity playing real rock and roll! Keep it up Band-Maid! My suggestion if you want to check out more of them: Real Existence (L-I-V-E version!) Side note: Some of their videos has CC if you'd like to see the Eng. lyrics. Like this one ;)
Agreed! Like I’m all for people making money become famous etc but then with music like this with raw talent, it NEEDS to be seen more! I’ll check it out!
Just subscribed with notification! Love watching people become Maidiacs! They're the hardest working band in showbiz and the saviors of rock and roll! As good as any band ever has been! Pick a song. Any song. You'll be glad you did. Rock on Brother!😊😎🤘🤘🤘🤘
welcome to the world of Band Maid! These ladies are absolutely amazing! And so humble! Everything they do, is for their fans. Just to give you an idea of how much energy they put into things, this was the 22nd song in a 23 song setlist. Misa, the bassist, is my favorite, they call her the Barefoot Bass Assassin. But each one of them are just killer on their instruments. And each one shines in their own way. If you are interested in some good J Rock with more traditional instruments, check out Wagakki Band! What a great fusion of traditional and conventional instruments! But Band Maid, to me, is top all!
This was song #22 in a 23 song concert. Think about it- they have this much energy after 2 hours on stage... Ah, yes, the outfits. To make a short story long, Miku (rhythm guitar/backing vocals/lyricist) had worked in maid cafes and thought that a band dressed in outfits associated with sexy submissiveness playing hard, in-your-face rock would be a great hook. Kanami (lead guitar/songwriter/principal arranger) loved the idea, largely because she has no fashion sense and this way she never had to worry about what to wear on stage. Akane (drummer) thought the idea was dumb but fun, but didn't like how the costume restricted her movement. MISA (bass) hated the costumes, and almost didn't join because of them. After MISA's reaction, Miku only told Saiki (lead vocals) that they would wear 'cute costumes ' when performing. Saiki was horrified when she saw them, not because they were maid uniforms, but because they were boring and dowdy (Saiki is quite the fashionista). Eventually, things came to a head, and Akane (the leader the band doesn't have) decreed that everyone could design their own outfits, as long as they stuck to the maid theme. Kanami kept the traditional maid outfit. Miku started heading into cosplay maid territory, like she owned stock in the ruffle-and-flounce factory. Akane initially ditched the apron, shortened the skirt, and ripped out the shoulder seams of the blouse. Later, Miku helped her make a black and white jumper that suggests a maid uniform while leaving her limbs totally free. Saiki took a head housekeeper 's uniform, sexed it up, and emerged looking like a sexy dominatrix head maid. And MISA showed up in a black dress, claiming it was a Croatian maid uniform. Or maybe Lithuanian. She finally went with Ninja maid uniform, because 'you'll never see her cleaning. '
Welcome to the B-M wormhole! The mouth drop when Kanami starts to shred is the look I still get when I hear her playing! Amazing band & musicians. Lots more for you to check out dude, do Onset next.
Band-Maid are well known enough so you can find their lyrics on various lyric sites, and copy/paste them kanji and all into Google Translate or whatever. It won't be perfect, but it helps give a clue. Their most recent music videos typically have English subtitles.
Rock is still alive in the US, hanging one by a little finger over the fiery pit of Hip-Hop but hanging on nonetheless.... "The Pretty Reckless" and "Starcrawler" come to mind.
Got linked here as a recommendation since I've watched a ton of these Band Maid reactions...and you're wearing Alestorm. This should be a good time. *watches video* "I wish I was fluent in Japanese" - I literally started the Japanese DuoLingo course because of this band. These ladies are a proper hard rock band with incredibly catchy riffs and an amazing cohesiveness. Bands that have fun together come across better when listening. You can hear their enjoyment. Would love to hear you continue down the Band Maid journey. Don't be afraid to pause if you've got something to say, but it's worth trying to time it musically if you've got an ear for it. And if you've got something to say, please say it! You'll probably get people telling you to just let it play through, but if they want to watch the video play through without interruptions, they can go watch it themselves. Many of us are here for a shared experience discussing this amazing band (and others). Definitely looking forward to checking out more of your videos!
I’m glad you can appreciate the Alestorm top, it’s my new fave haha.. Oh really? I guess that’s a good enough reason to start a course really 😁.. I will be checking more of there stuff out.. Admittedly my timing has been off with some of the reactions as you may of noticed, but I’ll get there. I’ve also learnt to not pause during a solo haha! Your words regarding me wanting to talk make so much sense, you’ve found the words I couldn’t of said myself and for that I thank you 😁
Be fluent in the closed caption button. Sometimes it works (sometimes it's autogenerated crap, too). For this one it would've worked. :) Plus, ~half of each song is in English most of the time anyways. Their music is my anti-depressant of choice (yes I say that all the time, sue me).
Nice reaction. If you pick up Band-Maid, fans from all over the world will gather just like moths gather on the streetlight, and you will start talking about music and it will be difficult to collect. LOL. I'm one of them, but I'm a newcomer. Speaking of seniors in life, it sounds good, but I enjoy the old rock boys' hoarding and jokes.
Band-maid is awesome! You not the only one who took a minutes to realize what these lovely young ladies are wearing and their name of the band. They just released a new album this year! S. Korea. All female Korean rock and roll band They really haven't made the big time but I think they have potential and I love the lead singer's voice. They sing almost exclusively in Korean though I found them when I was looking for an AC/DC song and they covered it and the lead singer did it in English. mind blowing. Walking After U
I forgot to tell you my avatar pic is cluppo/kuruppo a.k.a Miku Kobato the lyricist and rythm guitarist of Bando-Maid. I'm a Maidiac too, is just that I'm in-love with these two flower bands right now, Nemophila and Hanabie ❤️ Oh you listen to pop punk rock, maybe you should check out Future Foundation - Dawn, one of the best Ryo collabs🤘
You have just listened to the very very best rock band in the world bar none. The more you listen to Band Maid you realise what huge talent they have and what first class musicians they are. The lead guitar, Kanami, is a musical genius and all are top class in their field. Jimmy Page rates them highly and reckons the drummer Akane amongst the best in the world,
if u like this drumming, checkout Freedom live, Without Holding Back(instrumental) and Play (live), onset (live instrumental) etc, etc. in my opinion, Band-Maid is one of the best hard rock live band today.
MISA!!! MISA!!! MISA!!! 🥃🥃🥃 it's the go to Live song for a 1st timer like you. They are the best Hard Rock band in the world right now. Band-Maids MV are very good but their Live videos are 10 times better. You got to see how talented these 5 musicians really are in concert and how much fun they have on stage with each other in concert. I have seen B-M play twice here in LA and every Band-Maidiac or Maidiacs here will tell you how fantastic these ladies are playing in person. Many of their songs have subtitles now if you feel like need to know the lyrics. 1 song down and 100+ songs to go 😉🤙🏼
I’ll have a look at that! After watching the Band-Maid and Lovebites live MV’s I can see why! I’m jealous you’ve got to see them twice! So hope they come to the uk at some point in the near future! The US music scene has not brought us much other than some crap alternative bands for a long time. The only western bands that I think are near the same level of creativity and awesome sound are some Scandinavian bands like Nightwish (though being from Finland, technically not Scandinavian). These Japanese bands have members for whom music still seems to be a passion with them. Kanami Tono is a hell of a shredder on guitar, but more importantly she is one of the greatest composers of today. The only person that comes to mind who is in the same league as a composer would be Tuomas of Nightwish. Miyako of Lovebites is very good as well. Thanks for another great reaction Mr. Turnipmeister.
And those bands have bands that they’re the influences of and then nothing new comes from it essentially.. I’m so bad at Geography I didn’t know that Finland didn’t count as Scandinavia 😅 oooops.. I love those bands too, the creativity is incredible!.. Thank you for watching, Mr Turnipmeister made me giggle, I like that haha

you dont really need to know the lyrics to enjoy band maid. but if you are curious to know what it would feel like, then i suggest listening to kne of their instrumentals like without holding back or onset. and if you want a full band experience check out the dragon cries. the full song is in english
I could recommend you some good songs of them but I'd end up recommending their whole discography and maidiacs would agree with me. So just pick any and enjoy the journey 🤘
Hmm, Band-Maid rock... or do I actually want to listening to more angry rock during this 14 month-long pandemic? Band-Maid it is... who are also, by the way, one of the hardest working bands around.
"I wish I were fluent in Japanese"... Fun fact: Like 50% of the song is in English 😂 ... Just turn the CCs on to check it. It took me a long while to notice. Amazing song and amazing band!
Another one of my finer moments, being bilingual is hard when my brain is trying to process whats going on in english let alone Japanese, either way I loved it haha!
@@IVITURNERIVI I know what you mean. I speak a bit of Japanese and I was having so much trouble understanding the song. When I turned on the subtitles it all made sense 😂 It is actually quite nicely done, not just random English words but complementing phrases. I like it! It'd be fun to listen to your covers if you decide to go for it 👍
Oh do you? Is it hard to learn? I picked up a little bit of Korean and Mandarin thanks to my foster brother and friend but I have a feeling Japanese may be a whole different kettle of fish haha.. I didn’t know there was CC for ages then I’ve had a fair few comments informing of the magic of CC haha! Thank you! I’ll be sure to do my best to learn some of their stuff 😁
@@IVITURNERIVI I’d say it’s definitely not the easiest language out there, but it’s not the most difficult either. From what I’ve heard/noticed, the grammar is somehow similar to Korean and it is not tonal at all, so it is much easier to pronounce than Mandarin. To me, learning it has been very rewarding since I’ve always been a big fan of Japanese culture, both ancient and modern. And well, there’s a lot of talent in Japan nowadays; excellent metal and rock to enjoy maybe a little more if you understand the lyrics. I’m not a total metalhead so I often listen to softer music. My favourite band is SCANDAL. Arguably, the original girls’ band (since 2006). If you feel like having a break from heavy metal I’d recommend songs like “A.M.D.K.J.” and “Masterpiece” from them. Back to heavier stuff I think you might enjoy “Heartless Scat” by Ningen Isu and the live version of “焔 (Homura) + 暁ノ糸 (Akatsuki no Ito)” by Wagakki Band; very worth listening to in my opinion. Anyway, looking forward to those covers!
70% of their fan base is from the west. Not a bad song to be found. More Band Maid and I will be here. I stop listening to western rock 5 years ago because of Band Maid.
As soon as you stopped and made the comment about knowing Japanese your software lost the sound quality of the music track and turned into something completely horrible. Don't know why, but you should proof listen to your uploads, maybe it could have been fixed.
You heard the music before you saw the outfits. 👍👍👍 There are dozens of good great Japanese metal music and I'm referring just to the all female bands It is bloody unbelievable and Japan is saved my music soul these last three years. BABYMETAL- Band-Maid- Aldious Mary's Blood - LOVEBITES - Doll$Boxx, BRIDEAR - and well that's enough bands for now...enjoy.
The best Band Maid song is the next one you listen to. I'm not even joking. Plenty of great live performances available, try Freedom. You mentioned Sitar Metal: after you've checked out a few more songs you should have a look at their bitter arch-rivals, Band Maiko. 'Secret Maiko Lips' and 'Gion Cho' mix traditional Japanese instruments with hard Rock. It's amazing good fun.
If you are into metal, moratorium is a must check. There are heaps more metal adjacent tracks. You don't have to be fluent in Japanese to love their music, but many international maidiacs do try to learn Japanese fyi 😉.
These days all the US seems to have to offer is hip-hop, and it feels like the music industry is deliberately suppressing anything else that tries to get in. It's hard to say which girl has the best talent. This is really a band of aces. MISA is a bass-playing goddess. Kanami totally SHREDS. Akane is blazingly amazing on the drums... you can't say any one of the five is above the rest. They're an absolute powerhouse unit.
Great reaction, these ladies are awesome, but be warned, they are addictive, you could end up a slavering maidiac in no time. Please react to their newest MV for the song 'sense', you will not be disappointed.
Nice reaction fellow Brit...you've found a great band...great people. (I see you've incurred the wrath of Stephen Chigwidden...you must be doing something right)

Lol..I love your reaction video!! "If I only knew Japanese!" some of the best songs in the history of Rock dont make any sense anyways..and im fluent in English..(I.e. In a gadda da Vida, bohemian rhapsody, Black dog .. just to name a few). dont be like these other reactors and get all caught up in the lyrics and miss the musicality of some Great musician just playing awesome music!!
Welcome to Band-Maid , but you had problems with the video , it froze during Bass solo , then when lead guitar n Rhythm guitar were facing off you paused , when you went back to the video the sound was messed up , now let me introduce you to Band-Maid , Miku Kobato (aka) Small Pigeon , has Red rose in hair (band founder worked at maid café ) Rhythm guitar 2nd vocals writes lyrics , Kanami Tono lead guitar / shredder writes n arranges music , Akane Hirose (aka) gorilla on Drums , MISA !!! MISA !!! MISA !!! (aka) Barefoot Bass Assassin , Saiki Atsumi (aka) Ice Queen , has Blue rose in hair , lead vocals , fan base known as Maidiac`s , they have a lot of great songs , live n MVs .
I think 95% of first-timers don't make the "Maid" connection for a minute or two. Because the music and performance amd tones demand 100% of one's attention and one forgets about anything else. Liked just for "Sweet Baby Yoda!" But woulda liked anyway cuz Band-Maid.
@@IVITURNERIVI it was a joke. Your setting looks just like Chase’s early reaction videos when he filmed in his bedroom. I don’t actually know whether he moved houses or just films in a different room.
@@IVITURNERIVI actually I went back to one of his and it doesn’t look that much like yours. It just reminds me of it a bit. You should check out his reactions on songs you’ve already done (like this one). He’s an experienced musician and is considered by many to be the best at breaking down songs and why we like them. Your reaction was really good too.
This is what to ask yourself. Do you understand all of the lyrics to every song you listen to? I never do, only catch a few words here and there myself. I treat the vocalist as another instrument. I can turn on translations (they are on ever Band-Maid song in english pretty much) or look them up.
I'm from the US and our music doesn't come close to BAND-MAID. I found them nearly 4 years ago and they've changed music for me forever! Any and all BAND-MAID reactions will be greatly appreciated. If you do BAND-MAID covers, I'll most certainly be there.
Same here patron40silver! Same here!
We exported R&R to Japan years ago and they took it and ran with it! Love Bites (I see your reaction to them just now), Wagakki Band, Baby Metal etc.
Glad to hear it! I'll try my best to learn their music when I whittle down the requests haha. I think it will be massive fun!
For years the music in the US has been spiralling downward... But fear not... American (and British) rock is alive and well elsewhere in the world.
In a world gone mad only 5 unassuming yet awesomely talented Maids can save us from the impending disaster that is....a world without them.

that being said, I'm quite certain Domination - Live at Line Shibuya has subtitles ;)

Maid in Japan
In my country (Canada), at school, music lessons are limited to playing plastic flute.
And many are represented with over 35 well produced music videos. ua-cam.com/users/BANDMAID
Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE concerts such as Tokyo's LINE CUBE SHIBUYA on February 14th (“Domination” ua-cam.com/video/QbyQCJn6rYg/v-deo.html), ZEPP 2018, Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 and some of the better 2019 tour Fan vids. If you like Band-Maid, make sure to support them by purchasing some concert tickets, CD, DVD/BD & Merch, etc. bandmaid.tokyo
Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid. For fun, check out an awesome, little known "Mega Band-Maid Mix" by DJ Ray of some of their earlier stuff: facebook.com/djrayboston/videos/1004709499579009
Band-Maid members are: (Ages are best est.).
A slug of JB, a slight grin, and let the slappin’ begin… MISA! MISA! MISA!

Glad to hear you'd check them out! I'm gonna try learn some when I've whittled down the reaction requests haha

Haha, don't worry about not noticing about the maid outfits right away. So many have had that happen to them that they didn't notice the most obvious thing until very late. :)
Yes, these ladies should be kept on your radar if you're into good rock music.

welcome to the world of Band Maid!
I’ll be sure to give Wagakki a check 😁
welcome to the pigeon hole... this ladies are talented ...this girls are amazing in live
Pigeon hole. N00b. 🙂
IMHO: there's not a single bad song nor even mediocre from these ladies! Official live is often a go go, if available for any of their songs.
Band-Maid are well known enough so you can find their lyrics on various lyric sites, and copy/paste them kanji and all into Google Translate or whatever. It won't be perfect, but it helps give a clue.
Their most recent music videos typically have English subtitles.
May 10 bandmaid.tokyo live about $28 usd to stream. 6pm tokyo time but archive tickets are available also.
*watches video*
"I wish I was fluent in Japanese" - I literally started the Japanese DuoLingo course because of this band.
Your words regarding me wanting to talk make so much sense, you’ve found the words I couldn’t of said myself and for that I thank you 😁
Hey, you guys HAD your day in the Spotlight back in the sixties, NOW it's Japan's turn.
You should give the group, “Broken by the Scream” a listen. I suggest their live version of “The Message”. They’re another stellar group out of Japan.
I shall do, thank you for the suggestion!
You should check out their latest videos.
Have you ever react to the Japanese band name Scandal? If not you should check this band out! I can give you some suggestions and links for Scandal songs.
I hope you have a great day!
I’ll be checking it out for sure!
I have not thus far but feel free to drop me some suggestions 😁😁
Thank you! Hope you have a good day too!
@@IVITURNERIVI will give you some suggestions, but I need to go to work soon I will give you it tonight. By the way I am living in Japan now.

I would suggest do the song "Scandal Baby" or "A.M.D.K.J" first, but it's your choice.
This year is their 15th Anniversary, so I put 15 songs to pick from (note, I try to give you live and Music Video...sometimes Sony block the older Music Videos. Good news is that Sony don't block the live concert as much.

MOAR BAND-MAID !!
I'll make a prediction: in a few months, when you'll have become a total Maidiac, you'll return to this MV with nostalgia, cause nothing replace a first time with the Maids, even if you love their other songs more! (For me, it's Onset official live) :-D
Check back in a few months and we shall have a nostalgia trip together haha
I'm a Maidiac too, is just that I'm in-love with these two flower bands right now, Nemophila and Hanabie ❤️
Oh you listen to pop punk rock, maybe you should check out Future Foundation - Dawn, one of the best Ryo collabs🤘
Your avatar is cool! I’m finding myself to become a fan of all these haha.. I’ll add that to my list, thank you! 😁
@@IVITURNERIVI Bro before I forget, new MV from this band I just noticed today: Deviloof - Newspeak 🤘 It's another brutal song from them😎
@@christopherjohnferrer3771 sweeeeet! 😁😁
Best band on the planet. These girls rip
Yup I'm actually gonna learn Japanese. In part because of this band.
You have just listened to the very very best rock band in the world bar none. The more you listen to Band Maid you realise what huge talent they have and what first class musicians they are. The lead guitar, Kanami, is a musical genius and all are top class in their field. Jimmy Page rates them highly and reckons the drummer Akane amongst the best in the world,
A lot of the lyrics are actually English sung with a Japanese accent. Later MVs have closed captions so you can see the English beign sung.
Saiki's "Engrish" (sorry for the un-PC term) needs some work. Miku has the best English.
Hmmm maid outfits!!! The sound of pennies dropping all over the world😂
Not one of my finest moments I must admit haha!
if u like this drumming, checkout Freedom live, Without Holding Back(instrumental)
and Play (live), onset (live instrumental) etc, etc.
in my opinion, Band-Maid is one of the best hard rock live band today.
So the next one needs to be 'Freedom' Live. But only if you like drum solos.
MISA!!! MISA!!!
I think I’ll check the subtitles out, mainly for curiosity reasons/not knowing any Japanese haha! Oh yeah, 100+ to go.. I’ve got a fun journey ahead of me haha
@@IVITURNERIVI B-M has been to the UK every year since 2016 except for 2020
Your chances of them coming back are 99% Getting tickets will be another matter. Every stop on their World Tours are quickly Sold Out.
@@IVITURNERIVI One of the Maidiacs Gary can tell you about seeing B-M in London in 2019
@@IVITURNERIVI I know you will be getting flooded with song requests for you to react too. Start off with the Live videos of Play, Onset, Freedom, Real Existence, Choose Me, Turn Me On, Puzzle (both electric and acoustic versions) Don't You Tell Me, Take Me Higher, Moratorium. My MV list is Dice, Manners, After Life, Warning, Different, Rinne. Welcome to the B-M Pigeon 🕊🕳 hole
I’ll keep my fingers crossed that I can somehow get tickets then 😅😅
Turn on the captions. Most of the newer ones have them.
💯🤙🏼
@@IVITURNERIVI Don't feel bad about Geography, I taught history in college and university here and had students that could not identify the states bordering on Texas. Oh my, the state of education today. LOL
Think I need to brush up on it though lol.. Oh gosh really? At college and university level surely should be able to haha!
@@IVITURNERIVI Public schooling in the states sucks and they no longer teach the classical education subjects preferring alternative stuff to actual history, geography, government and economics.
you dont really need to know the lyrics to enjoy band maid. but if you are curious to know what it would feel like, then i suggest listening to kne of their instrumentals like without holding back or onset. and if you want a full band experience check out the dragon cries. the full song is in english
Sitar metal You must be doing BabyMetal - Shanti Shanti Shanti
Nemophila , Lovebites , Band-Maid - Japanese female rock bands.
Nice song selection, Lovebites Band-Maid has no bad songs . Nemophila has few songs.
England has the *Beatles* Japan has *BAND-MAID* and the United States has…….. _Justin Bieber_ 😢
Uh, full "credit" for Bieber goes to Canada.
This comment reminded me of that meme video about different people respectfully declining this one lady.. Pure chuckles all around
Justin Bieber is from Canada, and we exiled him to the USA.
You should really check out Wagamamarakia Survive, will blow your mind.
When I turned on the subtitles it all made sense 😂
It is actually quite nicely done, not just random English words but complementing phrases.
Same concert. Freedom. It's got a melt your face drum solo. Honest.
Sweeeet! 😁😁
MISA MISA MISA! Don't do Spotify but covers are always welcome
I've had a few comments on that, I'll need to invest more time into these things or pause less.. One or the other haha
👍
Question as to your cover of Nemophila, Hazuki plays a 7 string guitar, do you have one?!? Plus Hazuki and Saki play at warp speed?!?!?
I currently don’t have one (should have one by the end of the summer) BUT I have a 5 string bass so I could attempt a bass cover
If you love metal, you will be ecstatic with Lovebites, Aldious, Mary's Blood, Doll$Boxx and Nemophila.
You don't need lyrics if the musicality is sound. What you need to do is: Do. Not. Pause. During. A, Solo!
You heard the music before you saw the outfits. 👍👍👍
There are dozens of good great Japanese metal music and I'm referring just to the all female bands It is bloody unbelievable and Japan is saved my music soul these last three years.
BABYMETAL- Band-Maid- Aldious Mary's Blood - LOVEBITES - Doll$Boxx, BRIDEAR - and well that's enough bands for now...enjoy.
Best female band hand down
The best Band Maid song is the next one you listen to.
Okay cool, I’ll be sure to check them out too thank you! 😁😁
If you are into metal, moratorium is a must check. There are heaps more metal adjacent tracks. You don't have to be fluent in Japanese to love their music, but many international maidiacs do try to learn Japanese fyi 😉.
Japanese is one of the languages I'd like to learn to be fair haha
Imagine if you were fluent in japanese, then you could sing along to 'HELLO, HELLO, HELLO' ;) hehe
Ironically in my native tongue (which isn't English) its still the same as the English one xD
Do freedom, it's a lot of fun.
Freedom and Real Existance both live are killers . All live tracks are the best , with the exception of Thrill and Rinne IMO.
I'll be sure to check them out! Also thanks for the link to Swan Songs!
The real deal! (you seem to have a problem with the sound quality of the video you're reacting to!)
Yeah sadly! I'm gonna spend more time looking at the videos when I'm editing them and make sure everything is smooth

Baby Yoda rocks?

This is what to ask yourself. Do you understand all of the lyrics to every song you listen to? I never do, only catch a few words here and there myself. I treat the vocalist as another instrument. I can turn on translations (they are on ever Band-Maid song in english pretty much) or look them up.
Hmmmm....You like metal and pop punk 🤔 Yeah....you pretty much found your dream band.
