Pontoon boats are for the lakes and rivers, ok sometimes you can use them on the Gulf when it's calm, But in the Atlantic especially if the waves are over 6 inches lol, that's a big no no.
After watching your channel for a few weeks, I have accepted that Haulover is not a particularly dangerous inlet. It just gets used by a lot of inexperienced/reckless/stupid/suicidal boaters.
@@user-sh2mk8ew4c as you submarine your "880ho" boat through a wave swamping it.. Crossing haulocer well has very little to do hoursepower or boat size, its about driving skill. A small Boston whaler can tear through hauliver on full power at top speed faster and better riding, better handles great then you 800hp ego stroker boat.
I just have to say how much I appreciate the reason behind the title is always the first clip! That's what makes me stay and watch the entire video! Seriously, thank you!
No wonder the Coastie was smiling and waving as he went by, watching the shocks on his eat compress as he went through the waves made my back feel good just sitting still watching! Lol. Great drone shots.
I totally agree! I think I like the drone flying to the side so you get a sense of height the boats are moving over, vs being right in front of the boat. Even a chase shot from the back would look awesome 😎
I love the water level filming. Drone shots are cool once in awhile, but you get more for the feeling of the water turbulence and the struggle at water level.
Damn, that Sun Tracker did great! Should have left the front gate open just in case though, so it won't get blown in and damaged. Can't really sink a pontoon boat. I have a 2022 Sun Tracker Fishing Barge 22ft with the 150hp four stroke Mercury. It's my 3rd boat and by far my favorite boat. Build quality is fantastic and rock solid. Best warranty on the market too. It'll do 33mph on GPS with 4 people, fishing gear, full tank, and powered automatic bimini top all the way up.
Oh man! That Invicible is amazing! Honorable mention to the Scout! YESSS Keep up the great work with the drone shots! I'm all about the Pershings when it comes to the yachts!
Yes! I agree. I never knew I’d enjoy watching boats ride in and out of an inlet so much. The sounds of the seagulls, the ocean, and even the sounds the boats are very soothing to me as well.
I’m amazed that the people who are aboard these watercraft aren’t wearing life vests. Everyone know about the legendary Haulover Inlet & that it’s rough
Yes more drone shots please from both angles, going into Haulover Inlet and coming out. I have a 2011 Bayliner 285 and I plan on driving down to Miami one summer and braving Haulover so your videos are a valuable teaching guide for a new boater like myself.
8:05 - Princess Yachts, proudly built in Plymouth England. It’s a long way from its birthplace. Love the drone shots, but best of all the way you pick up the sounds of the waves and close escapes from a complete stuffing. And no thanks to hitting Haulover in that enlarged rubbery biscuit tin at the start! 😱😰🤣
No kidding! Was on a friend's Bass Tracker pontoon some years ago and he stuffed. It's just thin aluminum sheeting around the deck and it got torn and wrinkled.
Pontoon boats are basically unsinkable. They're horrible at navigating big waves, but they'll pop back up like an inflatable, even if you completely dunk them. I'd rather be on that pontoon boat than the Yamaha. At least with the pontoon, I can hold on for dear life and hope that someone comes to rescue me as I stay high and dry (once the waves settle).
New subscriber. Some of these boats are beautiful, although there are a few that struggle getting in and out if the inlet. I’d be scared in a small boat. Further, of course I like the drone shots and would like to see more.
🤣 The pontoon boat seemed to be doing just about as well as the other boats. Some of them were getting tossed around pretty hard. It really comes down to knowing your boat's limits and working within that.
Yes, the drone footage is interesting... but I sense a privacy invasion. I don't think I would like a drone flying in my face as I was transiting the inlet. But I am from Ohio and we for sure have nothing like that inlet to deal with. I can't believe the number of open bow small boats that take on that wave action. They are brave souls to be sure. I would never subject my wife or my kids to that danger. No sir. I prefer my family stay in the boat and without water up to their knees.
Ohio has nowhere near the Freedom. Florida appears to have the corner on Freedom, as Cubans fleeing oppression, raising families, boating, enjoying life and voting in Fla, can easily attest. ;}
@@blogengeezer4507 I am 100% for freedom. And I meant no political statement about anyone fleeing oppression, not sure what you meant with that part of your comment. But freedom to me means I don't have to subject my family to that kind of danger. As captain of my boat, I choose not to. OK?
That pontoon faired relatively well. Driver was smart to just let the boat settle. Would i take my family thru that cut, likely not. Looks like the three dudes had a blast though. 🤣
Someone once told me you can always spot a rookie captain by the fenders. If you see fenders out anywhere but at the dock he's a newb. Definitely applies here I suspect.
I like the way the boaters don't have their life vest on. This gives the life vest a chance to float free in an event of an accident, instead of being affected by the weight of a body in it. It's so much easier for a life vest to stay buoyant, if some person is not in it. Thank these lovers of life vests for allowing the life vest to have a chance to float freely without restrictions.
Everytime I watch these, I always wonder why the smaller boats seem to go right up with middle with the largest waves. Seems more like this outlet is more of a challenge to go and try, than anything else to some of these guys.
It’s not hard at all. I fly through it on my 19’ rinker during storms. You need good throttle control and surf the peak of every wave. I’ve never stuffed the bow yet i’ve zigged zagged my way through. I’ve never been featured, at least not to my knowing. But I know a couple guys have cheered me on for keeping the bow up. Rather get the prop out of the water than the bow under the water!!!!😂
The Yamaha looked fine, it's a decent size boat, but the waves definitely made it look small. I was thinking about getting a Yamaha 255 FSH seems like a boat that can hold its own. Bad idea or not?
Love the drone shots. More drone with shots looking out at the ocean. Gives a better prospective love 💕 the drone facing the ocean 🌊 shot on this video.
Rough waves today at Haulover! Where is everyone watching from? 🌎

Agreed. This doesn't look fun at all, to me....looks like bruises, Dramamine, and puking over the side.
I was just thinking the same thing.
@@PhoenixRisen63 this Pontoon boat is great for a night of Shrimping in some lagoon/intercoastal waterway on a calm night
It will take on some water but won't sink unless you puncture a log. It won't be a fun ride.
Probably idiots that rented it that don’t have a clue
That pontoon boat did pretty good. Better than a lot of other larger boats in fact.
After watching your channel for a few weeks, I have accepted that Haulover is not a particularly dangerous inlet. It just gets used by a lot of inexperienced/reckless/stupid/suicidal boaters.
Yes, and where is a dangerous one you run?

Yes, more drone shots! Imagens incriveis, sou fã do canal Wave Boats.
The Wellcraft coming in did a great job matching his speed to the trailing seas.
Thought the same thing. I'd ride with that dude
Not his first rodeo you can tell.
Drone shots give a great perspective on exactly how bad the waves are.
Yes this guy knew what he was doing, experience shows.
Yes keep drone videos coming. I just can't get over how beautiful the water is.
I love the water level filming. Drone shots are cool once in awhile, but you get more for the feeling of the water turbulence and the struggle at water level.
A big HELL YES on the drone usage. It’s great. 👍
YES more drone shots. Maybe have a dedicated one ready for every newly purchased bowrider loaded with a dozen people.

Amazing v hulls made for cutting through ocean waves.
And that good captain seals the deal. Some great throttle inputs and bow control
How ‘bout a drone shot on occasion from higher altitude looking in and out of Haulover? Would help see the conditions and wave patterns.

It's crazy how big some of these boats look on a trailer going down the road and then on a bad hair day for haulover makes them look so tiny haha
Can't mess with the ocean or any large body of water!!!!
Super perfect footage! So crisp and clean. Yes more drone footage please ❣️
Drone shots are incredible! Watching from Oklahoma👏
That was the best shots of a Scout boat I've seen! Thank you 🤟
Pontoon boats are pretty much unsinkable, the pontoons are sealed, but still definitely not intended for the rough waves of the ocean.
'Turn Turtle'?
Pontoon boats can be fun. On Lake Powell! lol

🙃 Wow, thanks ! Now I'm really sold on buying a pontoon boat.. also how it took them huge foot waves & dips even with a full crew 😳.

Actually, for a pontoon boat with such small diameter tubes I thought the vessel was doing pretty well considering the conditions!
I was coming to comments to say that.
No kidding! Was on a friend's Bass Tracker pontoon some years ago and he stuffed. It's just thin aluminum sheeting around the deck and it got torn and wrinkled.
