There's never been a better time than ever to be a really great guitarist. All we need to do is just putting the time and effort. Thanks for the lesson Sean!!
@@seanmannguitar This lesson to me is God sent! No wonder i never could follow the chords , and always wondering what was wrong with me! Thanks Sean for this lesson.
Guys I just bought a couple of Sean's lesson bundles and he literally goes through everything step by step. As he said "No stone is left unturned" I'm very happy with my purchase and excited to up my game. Treat yourself
Actually, this is amazing. I studied classical guitar and then switched to 'modern' guitar, meaning electrical. But I stopped because the teachers bored me to death. The first five or ten minutes I could follow but then they ALWAYS started on endless tangents and ramblings on music theory. My mind shut off and my eyes glazed over. When I tentatively asked if we could stick to I IV V they tried, but then got off again on all possible jazz permutations and chords. Complete gibberish to me whilst my guitar sat idly on my lap. I wish I had this young man here as my teacher.
This is gold! If you know your dominant arpeggios and the thirds of each, in each of the five positions, what Sean has taught here is so incredibly helpful.
Hey Sean, I just had to comment. After watching your video at least 20 plus x (and still watching), this is the most straight forward, insightfull blues lesson I've ever studied! There's a lot of cool riffs and lessons to learn on UA-cam which is fine but yours actually gives one the keys to understanding what makes a lick work well and opens the door to actually creating a musical dialogue, so I can't thank you enough plus I admire you for putting together such a simple yet well articulated video that I'm sure is helping a lot of guitarists out there. Big thumbs up!!! Thanks again.
Perfect lesson! You should do more in that style, picking a chord progression and teaching how to best approach the chord tones and what scales or positions to use.
Sean needed just 20 minutes to explain what is maybe 70, maybe 80 percent of classic blues knowledge. Just stick to what he says, guys, keep practicing it, and you'll find yourself pretty good in blues soloing sooner than you think. The other 20 or 30 percent is about rhythms, grooves, styles, that kind of things, and also about small details you might adopt or not into your playing.
I’ve been playing guitar for 4 years and now I finally understand, hoping for more blues lessons to come like this. Much love from Philippines mate🙌🏻🇵🇭💯❤️
I've probably seen a thousand guitar lessons but this is the best I've seen. It shows a light pedagogical point of view and milodically good sound so can not get better. Simple and now you got a lot of tools that you can build with. Many thanks ❤️
That was really helpful. I could spend most of the time just playing along but still paying attention to the information. Kind of a perfect balance between the theory of it and the demonstration that is so often sharply separated in videos that makes you sort of listen then later play and that slows my intake.
That means a lot, thank you. Just try learn something new at least once a week. Whether it be a song, solo section, lick, bit of theory… anything to progress.
I just realized that I have been doing this the last couple of months. Trying to emphasize notes that match the chord progression while staying in pentatonic shape 1 and going into the high strings on position 2. Adding blues notes here or there. But I am not nearly as good at creating licks as you are, your creativity for bringing out licks is amazing, I reckon it takes lots of time. Thanks for the video.
Hi Sean just found your site great lesson i have been trying to solo from the other direction playing 1 4 5 dom7 arpeggios and adding the odd scale note but this idea looks like being more of a winner i will check out your site for more lessons like this great job thanks for your time on this ( subscribed )
What a great lesson, Sean! And your playing... your touch is so characteristic! Just love it! Thanks for sharing this! Super useful!!! #bluespower 💙🎸🙌🏻
You have got to stop! I’m having a light bulb moment because you explain so well. Also, I purchased an Dean Vintage Custom bc of you site. If your teaching is like this throughout I have no other choice but to support you as much as I can and join. Soooo appreciated.
Sean, once more, I´ve got to comment. One of the best artists/guitarists/teachers on UA-cam. Very didactic lesson, thank you! Keep up the great work mate. Cheers from Brazil.
Thank you so much for this lesson love your playing style . I just purchases a telecaster squire infinity love the guitar .but I'm trying to get a telecaster pro 2 in the roasted pine . I was thinking of doing a parts telecaster with hum buckers in it with a four way switch.
Thank you ! This one lesson has filled in many gaps in my understanding and i am having so much fun building on what you have shared. I think I’ve already watched it 8 times, stopping & starting, slowing it down etc. This is fantastic !
Sean...the sound of that strat is sssooo bell and chimy to me the best guitar sound. No guitar sounds quite like a strat. Among all social media...you are my favorite of all. You make that strat sing so well friend! Thank you for inspiering me to play my strat and want to get better!
Superb!! Your excellent lesson takes the "mystery" out of creating a musical solo using pentatonics. Highlighting the major third in each chord makes such a difference in the overall sound. Keep up the great work...you are a fine teacher and phenomenal player.
Thanks for taking time to show and actually explain what you are doing. I've never been good at soloing but hoping this video can help get where I'd like to be as a guitarist. Thank you
You're such a great teacher Sean. I always thought how do my favorite guitarists get all these sounds and tones and they stay in the same part of the neck and I'm all over the shop and it sound shit. haha They are just highlighting the chord tones or major thirds. Hope that makes sense
Great lesson ! Thank you so much Sean :) Highlights very well the essential points in a very pleasant and straight forward way. For next videos, I'd really enjoy more licks in 4th and 5th degree like you did in this vid, in different positions of the pentatonic. It will help to build more vocabulary. Thanks a lot ! BTW, already bought your SRV course too. Really nice :)
Absolutely brilliant! I've been looking for something to help me move beyond noodling the 5 pentatonic positions over a backing track. I can see me deep diving this video now and over the Christmas break. Thank you, Sean.

Finally...I got this business of "scales over chords "

Fantastic! Would be great to see these concepts over a 12 bar blues.

I’ve been looking for this lesson for over 50 years. Literally.
Your style of teaching clicks with me, believe me I’ve watched many lessons too, thanks.
Glad to hear that!
Ok now my brain is totally onboard on were you're going with this. The hard part is to trick my fingers into actually doing it 😂.
Great Lesson 👍🙏🏻

Stumbled on this lesson , this is A grade ...you wanna save years ..do this ♠️

Magistral!! Thank you so much!!
I always used to think this was magic... now I know it is!! Xlent, thanks for this it's made a huge difference. 👍
I''ve been playing useless blues for decades and never realised the simple idea of landing on roots of the chord to resolve a run. Thanks Sean hinnie!
Happy to help!
You are way too underrated man, one of my favorite tones ever. Do you have any tips on how to actually practice and get better?
That means a lot, thank you. Just try learn something new at least once a week. Whether it be a song, solo section, lick, bit of theory… anything to progress.
This is exceptionally useful. Working through one of your paid lessons.
Man! This is one of the best courses I have learned on UA-cam. Keep up the great work!
