    And never forget to remain discrete, thieves also watch and read information on social medias. The least they are kept informed, the better !

    On Amazon USA there are a LOT of one star reviews for this product. Some claim that it is easy to pull off and it's just 3D printed plastic, not strong enough to secure the port at all.

    • @lsft
      @lsft  5 місяців тому

      Works for me. I can't take it off my OBD port. You'll most likely break the port. You can definitely buy more expensive ones if you deem the need. The video is not to promote this product, but the type of product to protect your port.
      On Amazon Canada, seems like it's a different review with many 5 star reviews. RAV4 owner says it's a snug fit. 🤷

      Depending on where it is to be mounted maybe.
      But black/ under the dash/ at night/ in a nasty spot/ just how are you going to even smash it off without defeating your goal of connecting to your OBDII port?
      I say you can't do it, I have one on my vehicle now. It would be a hard-go getting it off. In a hurry!
      The plastic in the 3-D printer unit is as tough as nails. I like it.,

    Nice one! While the screw May seems to be generic but under a tight spot it’s really painful to remove the port lock. The end goal is still to deter the thieves rather than prevent them completely - if they are serious enough they can always armed rob your garage. I hate to hear when someone compare a car’s value to a person’s life or future - the thieves made their choices and they shall bear the consequences. It’s common sense!

      Totally agree. If they want your car, then can jack it up and tow it away... nothing really stop them from doing it.

    lol nice effort bro but that "key" that you have been assuming is somewhat proprietary is actually a standard "security torx bit" sold in practically every tool kit on the planet right now. I have so many of them that I gave away about 4 of them to a customer just recently. As a matter fact since toyota is now manufacturing all of their vehicles with torx fasteners I can give you a money back guarantee that ANY toyota mechanic you take that vehicle to will be able to remove that OBD port blocker screw without needing that "key". You might slow thieves down but only by about 10 seconds 🙂

      How about a Lockheed tri-wing screw from the 70's?
      I have yet to find anybody with a bit for one.
      You can really mess with someone's head using one of those screwes. I have a box of all different sizes. I used to work on those aircraft.

    I asked this question on a different video and it was too vague for you to assist. When trying to to run the scanner app on my wife’s car, I don’t know the correct menu option to choose when setting up the car for the first time. I can’t figure out which setting is for my wife’s 2024 Lexus NX 450h+.
    I was going to upload a picture of the screen in the scanner app but can’t figure out how or if you can.

    Is the screw strong enough so that no one can just drill out the screw with a special type bit?

    • @lsft
      @lsft  4 місяці тому

      If someone wants to steal it and break it, they definitely can do it. They can also damage the OBD port if not drilled correctly as well. It's to prevent or delay them from accessing the port. So it's not like less than one minute the car is gone.

    got one/ works simple. Good value and unbreakable.
    It is a dark and awkward area there under the dash. are to try and break it. The plug will be destroyed.
    Layers are the best. They are lazy creatures of the night.

    • @lsft

      You just need to be careful when you do that everyday. The fuse could get loose overtime.
