14:58 is SO true. I got in shape back in 2017, and then I had a break up and let myself have a break until I creeped back up to my starting weight. Then I tried getting in shape and tore my ACL and that super slowed down my progress again. And I kept telling myself "ugh getting in shape is SO much work" and everytime I started I subconsciously sabotaged myself. Then one day I woke up and said "actually it's so simple and easy once I start living in harmony with my nature" and I'm back on the wagon. It's only been 2 weeks but I don't mentally struggle like I used to.

THAT IS the first step, Tom! I decided I am worth it...WITH EACH HUGE change I made....Like when I lost 200 pounds, when I got a restraining order on my abusive ex, when I quit drugs, when I quit smoking, when I went to college for my masters in writing, when I overcame cancer...when I moved to LA..I could go on! THANKS O MUCH! AMAZING Episode! THIS IS A HUGE blessing! Thanks JJ & Tom! HUG LISA!

How can I move forward from this?" are questions we can use when we have any crisis.

When I was a baby my mum would dip my comforter in the sugar bowl.
She had no idea she was doing anything wrong.
I've been a heavy sugar user all my life I'm 66 now.
I am now off carbs as much as I can see, but its hidden in lots of foods.
So I eat mostly fatty meats and some fruits like avocados and nuts and coconut oil.

When I was younger I could eat candy bars or Oreos here and there, now they are so disgusting and sweet I can't even get through 2 bites. European candy bars taste much less sweet than the ones in America. They are trying to kill us.

berryfairy68 when I was young I could eat entire bags of potato chips or Cheetos. In addition to drinking 6+ Dr pepper soda, and chocolate type candies or cookies. These days, potato chips and Cheetos taste gross, soda is disgustingly sweet and the syrup is too noticable. However, I can still devour chocolate candies or cookies

    • @levelupbooks5245

The American candy is sweet beyond comprehension. I overeat sweets here because I can't be satisfied(Japan). So dangerous especially because I am thin. It would be more alarming if I had some sign of disease or signal a bad diet like obesity can. Scary. I have to get off this stuff!!

??? The obesity rates in Europe aren’t much better lol. Props to them for using less chemicals. As for Japan there is also hella sweets! I also wanted to thank Tom for his genuine enthusiasm and interest in health and his guests that has inspired me to make changes for a happier healthier me.
I also wanted to mention which I didn’t below but important enough for mention. I have an autoimmune disease that eats away at my joints 24/7. Extreme inflammation and constant pain. My right lower leg and upper thigh would be hugely inflamed 10 times in size by noon every day.
At the end of my day I sit on the sofa and lift up my leg to see how huge it had gotten . Going into my 4th week off sugar and grains when I lifted my leg tp look at how big it had gotten that day IT WAS a SKINNY LEG. Also there was a finger that was the same and very painful . My finger was normal like the rest of my fingers. I am just amazed at the reduction of inflammation and as well as pain. Right now I need to stop looking 20 times a day but it’s just that I can’t believe the inflammation has dissipated in just a month of diet change. I’m inspired.
    Best wishes to all.

I just went through an infant loss. I lost my 17 week old baby girl from A rare genetic condition called Fetal Hydrops. This was so relevant to what’s going on in my life right now. It really spoke to me. Thank you JJ.

I am so excited to hear you talking about how powerful sugar addiction is, and switching from being a sugar burner to being a fat burner. I have been off and on the ketogenic diet since March in hopes of being able to cut out sugar completely. It has been a real struggle, and I've lost weight and gained weight, and now I'm on day 2 of eating carnivore. I know how badly I am addicted to sugar, because every time I fall off keto and eat sugar again, getting back on keto is really hard. I actually got so depressed that it was affecting my job performance. I've got some time off work now, so I hope to get through the worst of the detox while I have some time off. I know I feel so much better once I've been in ketosis for a few weeks.
