We will, in one of their videos they said that new characters in sam 4 will be important for other games, so the franchise lives. Btw, have you noticed that this game has no connection to ss3 at all? Maybe next game will be a sequel to sam 4 but a prequel to sam 3 that will show us how the egypt became ruins as we see it in 3rd. Maybe they will release a prequel to sam 4 that will show us how sam awoked Tah-Um and how humans fought him in the days when war only started, maybe they could make a remake of first part to make it fit new story and artstyle, or maybe they will finally made a sequel. So much potential for a lot of future serious sam games.

We know jones had a brother, so in serious sam 3 we could see jons brother. And this is a prequel, it was stated by Croteam. Sam from future mentions timelines tho, and we can hear kenny screaming from portal, while in ss4 kenny was killed by archiman. Maybe they will expand this timeline thing in future?

I guess... the whole 'shadow of the colossus lite' is kind of original for a Serious sam boss but... meh... I dunno, it just doesn't speak to me. It feels like in an atempt to inonvate on what wasn't broken, final bosses just don't get better with each new games. Like, Ugh Zhan 3 was pretty much a giant level all in itself with the whole race to join the pyramid and fighting hordes of eemies while the giant boss was throwing great fireball at you, it was MEMORABLE. (Okay the second part of the fight on top of the great pyramids where you had to jump through hoops to make the spaceship fire it's beam, little more by the number but hey at least was a poper 1 o1 1) Mordekai the summoner was a tad less impressive but still summoned minions constantly and provided a fight.( also good soundtrack on the great cathedral) The Mental insitution was HUGE, there was this giant fields of waves and waves of enemies to fight to get to it, and then when it finaly started rolling out, it still threw waves and waves ofdrones at yu and attacked witha gaint laser canon (also a great soundtrack too) Ugh Zan IV was .... uh.. well he had lots of minions and still fired rockets at you. Also the jetpack gimmick was fun. This guy... this guy.... feels more like a setpiece than a fight, if that makes sense ?
same and tbh personaly this ugh zhan was the lamest final boss of all ss games, he just stands there shooting eyelasers at you, spamming those anoying red orbs that phase trough his armor if your walking in it and spawning infinite drones, i was expecting that his fase would change once you fight him in the mech but nope he still does the same thing, both sstfe and ss3bfe had a better ugh zhan as final boss they atleast dont stand there like an idiot like this one does, hell i even find the mental institution a better and more challenging boss then this one.

I love serious sam serious,i have over 200 hours total counted just on steam,completed second ecounter 15+ times,but this is just pure sadness.I was so happy when it got announced,trailers looked great,but they invested money in bad things,i never cared about cut scenes.Like,who remembers cut scenes from Encounter series? You had literally 2 types of cut scenes,u either picked up some item or deployed it somewhere,but gameplay was great,levels were great(mainly in second encounter),but this is just... yea pure disappointment for me,they either patch many,MANY things that are wrong or im not buying it even in sale.

SS3 is probably the worst in the series, try Serious Sam The First Encounter. You can play the HD remaster if ya want, SS3 is a generic military game. It does not have the Serious Sam "feel" to it ya know.
Seriously? Such epic bosses in the first Serious Sam Games...Serious Sam 3 and 4 has the lamest final bosses. How the fuck is this suposed to be entertaining when you just destoy his regenerative system and then get into that machine to destroy it? In TFS U had to use the laser spaceship to kill him, fighting him a while, in the same time trying to take a lot of his life bar. The Serious Sam 3 was shit too. What are they thinking doing things like these? Another Ugh Zan enemy type that was fun was the Minotaur in Serious Sam The Next Encounter....the entire system with this final boss in SS4 is really annoying, it looks really cheap and cheesy. The game had it's moments but it was missing the magic of the first couple of serious Sam games. This game didn't feel like serious Sam. Plus the way the game takes away your items every time Sam get's captured is just annoying. Like i had 5 black holes and 3 mini nukes waiting to be used in the final fight only for the game to take them away...like damn. And the amount of cringey one liners is just awful. Giving it a 5/10

I completely agree Doom is a better game, but I don't really think they should be compared that much. They're both FPS with more classic styles of play but their similarities don't go much beyond that. Even the original Dooms made you think more about how to approach fights based on enemy type and placement; being quite a bit older meant Doom couldn't really handle the huge hordes of enemies SS is known for. Adding a half-baked grappling mechanic to the last 10 minutes of a game already known for being a bit janky was a terrible decision most likely inspired by D:E though, unfortunately.

Lol doom has smaller aliens in comparison. Serious sam is a arena shooter before Doom. Respect both games though.
