You need to double poly the greenhouse and blow air between the layers. Have about a 6" gap between them. It also prevents the poly from flapping in the wind and extends the life of the poly. Im Manitoba Canada we do that and it really insulates the greenhouse.
That’s how my nursery greenhouse is but it’s also heated from February through May. Unheated single layer does okay to grow cold hardy crops in if you put some floating row covers on from time to time.

@dhtnurseryfarm5793 it's probably OK for you down there but in Manitoba we have long cold winters. It's -22F right now. Sometimes we get snow into May.
@@bradhiebert6403 it’s 11 degrees f here now I’ve never seen -22 it does get down to to -10 but that’s very rare, but it does snow in May. Our last frost date is May 25.
@dhtnurseryfarm5793 this winter has been extremely nice for us. We have a week cold snap and then it gets nice again. With windchill it's below-40. Till now we have had single digit - temperatures which is very unusual. Now we have a week to 2 weeks of cold and then warm again.

Well, we've been up north for almost 7 years now (in MN and then WI). You get acclimated after a while. 32-degree days feel like summer after negative temps for weeks on end. :)

I live in the mountains western Maryland so yes -9 elevation is about 2,600 feet the record low in Oakland Md is -40, that was before my time m but yes it does happen.
