Pawpaw Ridge, I totally agree with Trish - this is the best video I have ever watched because it is short and to the point, no fluff. Myself and my 13 year old son built this today exactly how you showed. He watched it once and we worked together and completed it in no time. Thank you!!!!
I designed my cattle panel trellis's with raised beds inside so I can cover the trellis with greenhouse plastic and use it for a greenhouse in the winter months and large cold frame in late winter and early spring.
@@PawPawRidgeHomestead Hi where can I buy plastic clips what is plastic clips called how do I grow vines ? Did you put green vines by hand yourself thanks
I watch a lot of videos on gardening, and after watching yours, I'm a fan! I love how you keep em short and right to the point. Well done, Sir. Well done!
This will be my second year doing my family's garden and our big mistake last year was not installing a trellis. This video was super helpful for us to save money and use materials we already have. Thank you!
Its nice to see the old ways of measuring to be used. simple and usefull i will have to take a look into your content . big thumbs up keep up the great work
I love using cattle panels in the garden! We used five 4ft.×12ft panels and started attaching them about 2ft. Up on the t posts. This gave us more height and we to used metal clips to connect to the to panels together to prevent swaying. Since we used five in panels, my arbor was 20 ft. long and about 8 ft. tall. I planted on the outside and the inside of the arbor & planted green beans. I canned 134 qts. of beans from this arbor aka the green bean garage.😊😊😊
@@mariekelly7325 I placed the arbor with openings facing east and west so that they get morning and afternoon sun coming in so apparently not because I got a ton of beans. I also used soil Innoculant which increases the yield.😊
The thing you asked us to help identify we used to grate or slice potatoes to fry. I suppose you could use it for other veggies. The amber glass set was from late 60's or early 70's. I have that set of pyrex bowls. They were my Momma's and I use them about everyday.
Thanks! I've been looking for someone to give me more detailed dimensions, like width of walkway! Plus I was wondering about the 8' panels and love the idea of the spacer board! Thanks again!
I followed your instructions and made an arch a few days ago. It looks wonderful. I was going to do it by myself but thankfully a guy in the community garden helped me. That panel is awkward and heavy.
Great video! If would like to have a trellis like this, and put it at a different spot every year, do you have suggestions how to make handy adjustments to make it more mobile? Because this one I would need to break down and build it back up right?
Yes, would need to pull stakes & move to new spot. I’ve seen other videos where ratchet straps help hold the panel in an arch, so could to that before removing posts to keep trellis shape rather than release to flat 16’ piece to move?

OMG those gourd vines are gorgeous. Thank you sharing!

Great Idea. Next year we are building raised beds on the outside so they do not get walked on but we leave the tunnels open mainly for the look of it!
I'm torn between those two options. I like the look of a tunnel, but we live in a difficult climate.

So planting on the inside is not too shady for growing? And did you only plant pole green beans?

cattle panel is so expensive now but I gotta get some, just makes the best trellis there is and raised beds lined with a roll of flashing.
Ours are still only $35 a piece.
