"When you feel like everyone hates you, sleep. When you feel like you hate everyone, eat. And when you feel like you hate yourself, shower." This quote is just BRILLIANT I love it so much. I'm definitely adopting it cuz I can attest, it does work!!💙
"The hardest lift is my butt off the couch." Keeping this little nugget of wisdom in my back pocket for when activity transitions feel insurmountable due to ADHD. Thank you 🖤
1. Take an everything shower 2. Indulge in your skincare routine 3. Get ready & put together 4. Get dressed like you’re going somewhere special 5. Make your bed 6. Hydrate (before your morning coffee) 7. Smell the coffee 8. Tidy 9. Eat good food 10. Get moving 11. Plan the day ahead 12. Set an alarm for the next day
These are great tips, especially at this time of year. Got dressed nicely but comfortably yesterday, cleaned, did laundry, and played music that I love. Helped a lot, although today I'm fighting the urge to be a blob lol 💗
Giving back with intent. Whether it's through an hour of volunteering , donating to a charity/cause that's close to heart, or participating in an hour of team-work that's not paid work (for me it was sports, now it's volunteer firefighting and volunteering in the community), it's a way to get my focus off of how crummy I feel/the crummy situation and onto gratitude very quickly. I think the key factor in the giving part is giving to something your hold dear, to something you respect, or something that gives back to you. It has to be meaningful enough to garner your attention and change your mood.
This was much needed! I’m recovering from burnout and getting back into a healthier routine. Everything shower is 1000% true and I’ve learned that being in bed at least 20 min before I’m supposed to sleep really sets me up for success the next day. 💗
Re: scrolling all night long and not wanting to get up with my carefully planned alarm - use the screen limiting function on your phone if you have it. I set mine for 6 hrs max per day and after that I have no access to the apps I’ve specified beforehand. I also use this feature in the 2-hour window after my morning alarm to prevent me from scrolling again when I wake up. I only allow access to my workout app so I have no other choice but to workout. It’s been a game changer for me
Thank you Christina! I recently lost my sister and my life has definitely change. I love fashion sooooo much and I find it can be my saving grace in my very down days. I love getting dressed! Another very, very important thing is my fitness. 💪 I don’t comment very often, but please know your videos are very very inspirational to me. I look forward to them every week. Sorry for your losses. Grief is a very tricky thing 😢💗
I try to focus on the small things as you mentioned that are obvious but go quickly to the wayside (good sleep, some movement, good nutrition, etc). I workout a few times a week but if I am particularly anxious or angry, I focus on weight training (forces me to slow down and focus) or running when when depressed or low in energy (it becomes meditative and lifts my mood incrementally).❤
As it's getting darker and colder I've definitely found myself more drawn to sleeping in and curling up with a good book to waste away hours the past few weeks. This week I'm trying to get back into a routine and get crap done and this really helped! 💗
I love organizing. I open a drawer or closet an get to it. I also will go to dollar tree in search of organizing stuff. Maybe a resale shop. I found a sock organizer at resale for 2$. Folded my socks an put them in little cubies. Oh something that always works find someone you can do something for.
This message is inspirational. I think I have seasonal affective disorder. This time of year is very stressful for me. Tomorrow is a new day. Another day to start anew. Thanks for the suggestions.
I have been watching your videos for quite a while now and have enjoyed them/learned from them, but I especially appreciated this one. It came at a perfect time. I have also experienced great losses and difficulties, and have been in a bad slump. Thanks for your inspiration to help get myself back on track.❤
I'm always amazed at how restorative sleep, food & a hot shower are to my mood & overall sense of well-being. Thanks for the reminders to take care of ourselves & hope you & Jeff can find some peace in the chaos of life.
One of my favorite quotes: “We must all suffer one of two things: The pain of discipline or the pain of regret or disappointment. “ Sooo.. often I just make myself do things even though I don’t feel like it and most of the time it gets me out of a slump and I end up moving on to something else and before I know it I’ve had a good day. 😊
Sorry for your losses… they can be tough to get through. Have kindness and patience with yourself. Also… link for the black pants you are wearing in this video? So cute!
Loving all the tips 💕 for me today, it was just to rest from work (currently writing a chapter for a book, it’s hard). And get a bunch of little things done. Not in any order. Just think of a little task. Do it. Repeat. Hope you get feeling better soon ❤
I feel this so much right now 😅my kindergartener brought home a sickness that I am still recovering from almost 3 weeks after getting it. My routine went out the window and I’m feeling pretty blah 😑 Going to try some of these to hopefully get me (somewhat) back in track. And very sorry for your loss ❤
Thanks for taking us along 💗for me it's working out or go for a walk/ take the shower/skincare and make sure I take care of myself. And making a plan for the week can really help.
Thank you for this video Christina, this REALLY helped me alot. I'm gonna try to apply these simple habbits to my life and see how it grows. Thank you for the content you put out, even if you are going through tough times please remember you inspire so many of us to do our best. Have a lovely day/night ❤
I feel like I need to incorporate these tips starting tomorrow😅 After 1 week of having a cold and staying at home (on the couch) the whole time I feel so unmotivated for the gym. Thank you for the vid and I hope you will get through everything what was weighing on you lately 💖 life is cyclical and after a rough patch there will be lighter more happy times!
Hi. Just found you for the first time. I’m enjoying your practical, common sense content and minimal style!! Subscribing and continuing to watch. Stephanie ❤
❤. Sorry for your losses. I have been implementing a lot ouf these tips myself lately to cope with grief and my sisters cancer diagnosis. Showers and hot baths help me a lot. And self care.. also for me sifting through clothes thrifting is very therapeutic.
When that slump happens when you're away from home, you're not given a lot of options on how to get out of it- or at least, that's how it can feel sometimes.... Depression sucks, and dealing with insomnia because you work too many night shifts can also suck away your energy. Thanks for making this video! I feel like I should have watched it sooner 😅
I'm in this situation right now. Life has slammed me with a few too many things. I just had my everything shower and was scrolling when I came across your video. Every bit helps.
Hello Christina! Just found your channel (via the "clothes you'll regret buying" video) and the timing is honestly great. I've only watched two of your videos so far but I love your calm, relaxed way of talking, and the contents of both videos seemed reasonable, down-to-earth and actually helpful to me. Great vibes overall. :D A bit of backstory: I'm 26, living alone at the moment, and I've been on antidepressants for several years now. I often get overwhelmed and stressed even over rather mundane things, especially after changing jobs and some other major life events happening, which required me to make a lot of important decisions when I'm honestly not used to it. Whenever I try to get my stuff together and develop healthy habits, be it fitness routine or cooking or tidying my space or finding a new hobby/learning something new, I have a hard time actually sticking to it, I can keep it up for a few weeks and then gradually stop; it's happened countless times now and I think it almost made me give up on myself. I've always considered myself not a type to plan ahead but if I don't plan my days (chores and free time) to some extent and leave everything to mood I may end up staying in bed and scrolling social media for the whole day, without even enough energy to cook something for myself; this also results in the feeling of guilt over lost time and lack of productivity, which leads to depression and further lack of energy later, in a vicious cycle. Recently I felt like being a little easier on myself (but not in a self-destructive way, though I still indulge more often than I should, especially with food and snacks). At this point I kind of know my physical and mental limits, and even if they may be lower than those of other people, I just want to live my daily life comfortably and without guilt. This video actually inspires me to implement somr positive changes. I'll try to follow some of your advices, maybe most of them, at my own pace - not for the sake of "being a proper adult" or anything but just to treat myself better after years of relative self-neglect and irresponsibility that I still can't quite let go of. Thank you very much for sharing your tips for something a lot of people struggle with. 💗
I knew you worked out! I saw another video where you were trying on clothes and I saw that you have nice arms/shoulders so I wondered if you worked out!!
❤ I drink water more than any other fluid, I mean this should be the norm, but, you know. ..life. And I read...an actual book. Not a social media article. I rarely watch TV & YT is my main SM, so this works well for me.
We turn off technology at 7 pm to have two hours of reading....bed at 9. Otherwise you don't accomplish anything at night but brain emptying in front of the TV. Sleep is better!
"When you feel like everyone hates you, sleep. When you feel like you hate everyone, eat. And when you feel like you hate yourself, shower." This quote is just BRILLIANT I love it so much. I'm definitely adopting it cuz I can attest, it does work!!💙
I do all of those things and I feel the same.
I think eating should be kept to a minimum
"The hardest lift is my butt off the couch."
Keeping this little nugget of wisdom in my back pocket for when activity transitions feel insurmountable due to ADHD. Thank you 🖤
This is the best quote from the video. ❤
1. Take an everything shower
2. Indulge in your skincare routine
3. Get ready & put together
4. Get dressed like you’re going somewhere special
5. Make your bed
6. Hydrate (before your morning coffee)
7. Smell the coffee
8. Tidy
9. Eat good food
10. Get moving
11. Plan the day ahead
12. Set an alarm for the next day
What works for me is telling myself "you are only one workout away from a good mood" and I start to exercise!
Sorry for your losses Christina, grief is a hard place to find yourself… thanks for the tips 💜
These are great tips, especially at this time of year. Got dressed nicely but comfortably yesterday, cleaned, did laundry, and played music that I love. Helped a lot, although today I'm fighting the urge to be a blob lol 💗
Haha let’s be real Sundays are excellent blob days tho ❤️
❤ this is by no means new wisdom, but it works: drinking water, going outside, walking

Thank you for being the person you are 🌷🌷🌷
When my mom died in March, I started weight lifting. It is so good for me. I am getting stronger and it helps with my grief.
So sorry for your loss 🥺 I can confirm with the weightlifting! Glad you found an outlet ❤️❤️

My best slump booster is to de-junk and organize something in the house.
wrote all these down in my diary 💗

Great video - perfect for this time of year ❤
What you said about real pants being the last thing you feel like doing when youre in a slump….i completely felt that 😂😅
"The hardest lift is my butt off the couch" WOW, I FELT THAT XD
Really brilliant! Love everything you do and ALWAYS look till the end ❤
All good advice. Also, tell a trusted friend that you are in a slump and buy yourself a cheap bouquet of fresh flowers.
❤ it was very motivating!
