If you want to get better at drawing faces and portraits then practice drawing skulls. Yes, it isn't just fun for goths and heavy rock music lovers. Drawing skulls helps you to learn the underpinning of the human face. That is why it is so great to be able to understand this unique structure and how knowing it's form will change the way you draw people forever.
The iPad is a great tool for sketching out the form quickly and instead of using Procreate, I wanted to do this using Adobe Photoshop on the iPad Air just so you can see how good that is. Especially if you are an existing Adobe CC Subscriber, it is worth making the most of this great tool that is now available to you... and one that is always being upgraded too!
As always, I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments bellow.
Until next time, keep on creating!
    Lawrence.

Cool skull! Have you tried Affinity on the Ipad? I use it on Windows and it's a pretty good program.

Your drawings and digital paintings as ever look fantastic!
Have you tried the iPad version of illustrator or Affinity designer for vector stuff? Even Adobe fresco has some nifty vector brushes that I think are pretty cool.
I’m not sure I agree with your criticism of the iPad though. For regular consumers sure the iPad is pricey, but if your studio has a 24” Cintiq pro or bigger, and are running a high spec Computer, a $1500 device shouldn’t compare and it’s more of a complimentary device at best. And I think for that the iPad is perfect. It’s a fantastic digital sketchbook and for what it costs it’s crazy to expect it to do more. And I’ll be honest i have went out and finished a lot more work on just the iPad than I should, but that’s just bonus.
Personally I do like the UI adjustments to fit the form factor. I have a surface pro 8, and Adobe, Blender look a bit too cramped on that screen.

Well, you know I've had things to say about the iPad in the past. Especially for professional creative use. But the latest series of iPads are more powerful and iOS does have a decent version of Photoshop.

That is coming. Along with a lot more daily drawing videos on the iPad!
