I've always tuned/remapped nearly every car I've had with no regrets. Yeah it puts a smile on my face but it's never shockingly faster. It's not just about faster it's about less turbo lag, better response, more low end and midrange holding the power better top end
A stage 1 tune is best bang for your buck on ANY turbo or supercharged car period. Stahe 1 mean you need zero mods and get pretty crazy hp and alot more torque
I have a 2.0t b7 stage 2 tune. Not apr there not the best. It has 2.5in exhaust all the way from turbo to muffler tips catless dp and upgraded go fast bit DV+ with updated version and cold air intake. R8 coil packs ngk spark plugs re gapped lowering springs and its a 6 speed manual. Stock is 200hp and 207 torque im now at 275-280hp and 315 torque
What cold air intake are you running? We have almost the same setup. I haven't got it tested yet to see just how much horsepower I have. That's something that I will be doing soon though.
I appreciate your review but at 200k miles I have some questions, about some stuff that will affect HP and how effective that tune is. have you had the engine compression tested? Have you checked how well your injectors are working, have you had a de carbon service? I get what you are saying about a better driver but if a better driver in a stock car can be faster then a better driver in a car with a tune will be even faster then the stock. Unless you can't keep the tires from spinning when comparing two of the same exact cars the one with more power because of a tune will always be faster.
I just did shocks controls arms upper and lower sway bar and tie rods did coil packs fuzes rotors sent engine to machine shop did valves head gasket timing chain water pump high pressure fuel pump can follower hi Flo cat cam chain tensioner k&n typhoon CAI upgraded turbo inlet pipe Audi r8 style front head lights did sum exhaust work but upgrading to cat back and getting down pipe soon currently she got out the shop and the timing chain wasn’t timing right after the cam chain tensioner had to be replaced so just sent her up to get the upgraded timing chain with new gasket and ajusters and doing new battery 200k mile maintenance 😂😂😭
I have to say im verry mad at APR .first I'm a mechanic . install many aftermarket parts and i have a 2016 sq5 . i just but a pipe that goes from tb to air box Stock they say it fit... well i was just about to return it .it is bad it will not fit . im just piss ty
I got a apr stage 1 on A4 B9 with cold air intake, it rips! And launch control with traction control off it snaps your neck and yes put on dyno stock was 252hp 272tq now im at 315hp 370tq idk what your talking about maybe u got apr stage 1 installed in old b7 with 150hp ride 😆
Thanks for your comment! The B9 and B7 platforms are very different- especially the motors. If I ever own a B9 and have it tuned, I’ll be excited to review it. As for the B7 platform with the older turbo FSI motor, I personally feel like a better driver would go faster on a stock tune than an amateur driver on a stage 1.
You seem like a dumb guy. APR gives you about 30-40 up additional up which not noticable unless you rev high which most people won't do with automatics. B7 is 200hp not 150hp there goes your knowledge.
miles on your b7? im chillllllling at 130k and am nearing a new car anyway so im wondering if I should bite the bullet and have some fun until my chain tensioner and timing belt goes
I had 200k on the car when it was tuned. I drove it another 229k and it was running strong when the next owner got it. Timing belt isn’t that bad! Took me a weekend working very slow at my own pace.
I think what you’re wanting for the pops and bangs is 2-step. I’m not 100% how 2 step works, but I do know that some of the exhaust gases are being combusted thru the exhaust system which keeps the turbo spinning reducing lag. I also know they’re similar to rev limiters.

How do you know your pushing 270? Dyno ?

This is a fantastic review thank you!
Thanks for sharing!
This dude has his ego in total control. Got me to work on my own driving, and i realized I had gotten lazy in my shifting.
Have you ever had to do the cam chain and tensioner at the back of the engine ?
I have not- I had checked it, but have not changed it.

And if you want rev and speed limiter off and want quick shift get a apr tcu tune with a apr stage 1 ecu tune
The car is a manual.

You gotta get stage 2 to feel a difference
It's been a year what miles is it on and what's reliability been like?
The car has been running great! 230k miles and I sold it to a guy who is still driving it!

Hey C munsta how long have you had the tune I’m thinking about tuning my b9 just a little worried about voiding my warranty

@@rayj33 there’s something called sport mode where the RPM is way higher… and tiptronic paddles….

@@roywalker270 Thanks for the insight!
I think I'll do the timing belt at some point, youtube tutorials don't make it look too bad.
Good advice brother
Do you know If with stage 2 i can’t get pops and bangs with my auto trans

Boosted dynamic tuning is running add on crackle tune witch I think runs pretty decent
