Josh is a friend of mine from high school. I remember he would be gone all the time on tour with random bands and he would show up to class for a couple of months with different hair colors and then be gone again. I go to his annual Vandals Christmas concert, and every once in a while, we get to hi-5 and take a photo. His brother is also a friend who is incredibly talented just as well whose bio is just as long. it’s just mind blowing to see who he has been with. Dude is a world-class drummer, but also a really cool guy. when you go by his childhood house, which is still there about 10 minutes away from here, there is music equipment hanging from the trees. I just thought I’d share those fun facts.
Most bands practice with the singer facing the band. It's not like a live show when the singer faces the audience. Dave facing the drummer is as common as water and shouldn't have come as any surprise to you if you have ever been in or around ANY band while rehearsing.
Congrats to him. He has been around for so long really. I went to his and his bros Jason Freese (Green Day) HS in Orange County back in 89. They were excited for him just playing drums for the Dream a Little Dream movie soundtrack. I remember seeing newspaper clippings in the office.
Watching the London and LA concerts, Josh seemed to be the most natural fit out of all the drummers who played those shows. He's got the chops, and he will play the songs a bit differently than Taylor and that will inject some excitement into the band and the fans as well. I'm so glad the Foos are moving forward.
There are a TON of drummers out there that could pull it off, but it's nice to see a friend of the band do it. It will always be strange for me seeing anyone besides Taylor playing in that band.
It is the logical choice. It has to be somebody that the band knows and are relaxed with. Bringing a stranger into that close knit group isn't going to work as he'll be trying to be a copy of Taylor. Josh is respected enough by the band for them to just let him be himself, and he's experienced enough to put his own stamp on it.
was hoping for Richard Greenbury (Manchester Richard from the Croatia show). .. like dream would continue as the actual new guy.. at least for awhile... even if they went on to one year contracts with people there after... (never fully replacing)
The ONLY way to rehearse in a new band member/learn songs/try new songs etc is in a circle facing each other ... until you are rehearsing for the actual gig (like a dress rehearsal) But I'm just a hack... WTF would I know??
He’s good but he just seems like he doesn’t fit with the rest of them so they just have to use what they have at the moment. Everyday is another dollar lost. Sign Me up🥁✌🏼
Yeah but he himself doesn’t seem to fit the band idk everyone else looks normal Rocker guy and he looks like a professor who just walked in the room and tells everyone play it and tune it like this kinda vibe 🤷🏽♂️✌🏼
@@sicproductions7911Music not looks, musically Josh is a perfect fit. Will end up being better than Hawkins, altho Hawkins was a great drummer as well. See his tours with NIN or A Perfect Circle for proof.

I also went to school with him and his brother!
Congratulations Josh! 🎉 So excited to see you with the Foos!
Josh is a great fit! Loved the live stream today. And I too, was taken with the formation of the band, Dave facing Josh.

They should have used Taylor’s son. He knows everything
This will be a perfect addition, and I'm sure Dave and the guys know what they're doing
These guys seem like super cool. It's cool seeing this interaction. You can tell they love what they do.
I met Josh 10 years ago truly nicest dude ever
watching 2 drummers making an attempt to communicate just made my day!
legends
The decision to put Josh behind the drum kit is dope. Well play Dave 🤘🤘
You see and hear that energy Josh brings to the table? Hell yeah - perfect choice!
Very happy for Josh and Foo, i just hope he can/will still play for the Vandals
I like what I hear. Excellent choice 🤘🤘
Love!❤
Yep great choice. Just see the energy he brings.
Josh is my favorite punk drummer; he comes with an experienced entertainment lawyer.
Brand new energy. Yes !!!’
Great new drummer! I think he’ll add more all out rocking’ beats!

High energy level this guy.
It’s already good but it will only get better as they really start to gel. Josh is kick8n ass
👏👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥🔥

What about Ringo?

I would think that it would be rare in rehearsal to have your back turned to anyone in the band. Having a great drummer makes a band.
HIs personality isn't as cool but his chops are VERY cool. So...take it or leave it.

The owner of this channel can be a good Nathen Drake
Ian Rubin would be a good fit
Why are u talking?
I think he’s gonna piss off Dave Grohl.
Josh rules.
Tweaker hawkins has already been forgotten
He never will be forgotten
@Jenifer Ansley love the sarcasm. Thanks for making us all laugh
@@meyou9176 Sarcasm?? Whatever you say lol

No no that’s not Foo Fighters
Anyone is better than Tweaker hawkins
Do not like
No one cares dude
Obviously the Foo Fightets disagree. He’s my all-time fav drummer. Since the 90s I’ve been following Josh, and he’s truly a perfect drummer.
Quique, Josh Freese is a freaking legend. One of the best rock drummers ever.
