Though Taylor will be forever the MAN, the band seems to be born again with new energy and life. They look happy. And that’s what matters. Happy band, happy audience, happy Foo universe. So glad you guys moved ahead. Thanks.
I love that Dave mentions that Josh was in Nine Inch Nails whilst completely ignoring that Dave himself also drummed for Trent Reznor on a NIN album. In fact Dave drummed on more tracks than Josh did, Josh was a touring member of the band.
Freese's drumming made the first A Perfect Circle album for me - they're great songs anyway, but his parts were just so perfectly matched to the vibe of the album.
I’ve been playing the drums for about 30 years, since I was 12, and those first two APC albums are a real pleasure to play through…Freese’s parts have such nuance and dynamic range that they’re just a joy…
From a NIN fan to Foo Fighters fans. I'm glad he's in good hands, you lot are legends. Enjoy! Now go take a look at the video of Josh playing Wish. I'll be joining you at the next FF gig I can get into.
Sweet!! 🤘🏻 I’ve watched the videos of Josh playing “Wish” and “Letting You”, I was absolutely blown away!! 🤯 He’s a machine!! 🔥🤘🏻 Hope you can get into a FF gig soon! 🩷
Never in my life did I think I’d hear Dave get through a sentence without dropping numerous f bombs. His track record continues. Geez he’s got a foul mouth.
First time I saw Foo Fighters was at an outdoor festival in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada in the summer of 2000. That festival included A Perfect Circle who were promoting their first album "Mer De Noms". Josh was in A Perfect Circle at the time. "There is Nothing Left to Lose" by Foo Fighters & "Mer De Noms" by A Perfect Circle are 2 of my favourite albums
Ditto to those two albums being favorites -- I can't believe more people aren't talking about Josh in A Perfect Circle! Mer de Noms was life-changing for me, in terms of my musical journey. Just find a live version here on youtube of the song 'Orestes' -- the song builds up and the climactic drums at the end... god it's so f*cking good. I could just listen to it over and over. I couldn't be happier that the Foo brought him on!
@@lindseyflannery7139 It was overwhelmingly great. That album was a game changer. Like many bands I listen to, A Perfect Circle doesn't remind me of any pother band, despite Maynard being the vocalist for 2 other bands
Love it! also, that lighting engineer better be making bank... throwing together that beat for beat replica of NIN's march of the pigs lighting arrangement. Makes one wonder if it's the same engineer NIN uses.
ive heard that the foos have used the same sound and lighting crew since the beginning, so its highly possible that they were around at the same time as nin height of work
Agreed, Taylor is irreplaceable. That being said, Josh is doing an amazing job and I love that he shares the Foos sense of humor! Seems like an awesome guy all around!! 🩷
I knew from day one after Taylor’s death that if the Foo’s decided to continue, it would be with Josh. Him and Taylor were super tight and it only made sense.
Pelham Alabama, I was at this concert. Rained like a motherf'er and I honestly thought it wasn't gonna happen. suddenly the skies cleared it was crazy. God wanted me to see Foo Fighters
Actually, Josh is a good deal better than Taylor. No, I didn’t dislike Taylor’s playing, it’s just that Josh has a lot more chops, more fluidity, and is extremely tasteful and aggressive all at the same time. That’s hard for anyone to top.
Who do you get to replace the irreplaceable Taylor Hawkins? You can ONLY get the guy whose played pretty much everything ever recorded for the last thirty years.
I used to work for Josh as a drumtech when he played for Dweezil Zappa. He is by far one of the best drummers I’ve ever seen. That said, I saw him when he played with Sublime at Red Rocks, and it was probably the worst show I’ve ever seen by that band. He overplayed constantly, and took away from the music and the band. I really hope he doesn’t do that with the Foo Fighters. Great drummer… Maybe too good.
@avedis1518 a drummer or any musician being "too good" in the way that you mean it is definitely a thing. Describing him overplaying w/ Sublime is like the perfect visual to drive that point home. How is he as a person and a band mate? Did you get a chance to see that side of him? Is he a good hang? Because people who play well, and fit the music but are total asshats don't usually last very long. Just curious
Dave's a great musician an and we all know that however, using the "F" word doesn't make him cool. He may think so but Nirvana is dead. The attitude and language us during the Punk Rock era doesn't cut it 2023 Dave.
I love that for the NIN cover, they instinctively blasted migraine-inducing flashing lights in true NIN fashion.
Though Taylor will be forever the MAN, the band seems to be born again with new energy and life. They look happy. And that’s what matters. Happy band, happy audience, happy Foo universe. So glad you guys moved ahead. Thanks.
Couldn't agree with you more! The Foos have not missed a step.
you replace a real guy with another real guy Thats the ultamite compliment to taylor
And a shit hot new drummer. Loved Taylor but they couldn't have found a better replacement
I love that Dave mentions that Josh was in Nine Inch Nails whilst completely ignoring that Dave himself also drummed for Trent Reznor on a NIN album. In fact Dave drummed on more tracks than Josh did, Josh was a touring member of the band.
He’s a humble guy! 😉
Dave played drums on my favourite NIN song, "Everyday is Exactly the Same". Really summons the spirit of John Bonham on it, kick-ass playing!
@@noahbrown6970 How do you not what Josh played in this isn't march of the pigs and is wish lmao.
@@michaelperron5038 I...didn't name the video ;)

YES. Especially on Orestes and Judith.

My gawd you have Josh Freese to drum! That is an incredible get. And why not? Who wouldn't take that gig.
Let's not forget that Josh's heart will always be with The Vandals.
F yeah.
I saw him drum for the vandals like 5 times between 1997 and 2002. Him and Warren were insane.
Love the Vandals
I always associate him with the Vandals lol
was my favorite drummer when I was 14, 15. that sweatin to the oldies video is ridiculous
He’s also been on literally 1000s of studio albums, while also drumming for The Offspring.
Well… not literally.

Dave totally knows every word to Haven't Met You Yet... So do I.
Let’s not skip right over A Perfect Circle
I was about to comment the exact same thing
Yeah. They forfot the best of all
In spokane, he actually broght someone up on stage to sing it and the guy KILLED IT
God it’s SO about time that Foos adds double bass to their music. That kit is sick
the light guy stepping it up for NIN
Totally!
Haha. Last line of Buble song, Gold.

Best intro I've ever seen for any musician ❤
Seeing Dave sing Trent, priceless. Thanks for sharing!
No problem! ☺️
Seriously I needed this. We can never replace Taylor but Josh is a genius choice for these guys.
Don't forget A Perfect Circle.
Yeah get Manard there to do some Foo Fighters Judith
And Guns N Roses, 1997-1999.
Suicidal Tendencies - Art of rebellion - 30 years old, but still remarkable drumming from Josh
this guys and incredible drummer. He hits with rare authority and sits right in the pocket.
“Rare authority”. I love that.
Hands down the best concert I’ve ever had to wait out a flood for.
...and he drummed for Suicidal Tendencies as well - great choice for for a drummer Foo's! keep rockin'! (R.I.P Taylor).
He was also guns n roses drummer for 3 yrs, he got sick of waiting for a new album.
Axl's still trying to catch his breath
And Axl took so long that their guitar tech had time to found A Perfect Circle while twiddling his thumbs in the studio.
Never in my life did I think I'd hear Dave sing a NIN song, but that was great... this is a great clip!

even with the rain it was an amazing show

March of the Pigs moment is Fu-k-n-g epic, I which they record that and Whip it at some point, I love their covers! 🤘😎

Glad you gave this Josh guy a chance 😆
I was there. Wasn't sure if it was going to happen. Really bad storms right before the show
Love this part of the show - they all light up darts while introducing the band 😂
Longest list of bands played in of any musician I can think of.
This would have been my favorite part of the show.
NIN in concert is like one big long mini-stroke
And going into My Hero, how appropriate 😊
It seems like when Matt Cameron joined Pearl Jam. Fits right in.
Perfectly said. 🔥
Aww no mention of A Perfect Circle...
Rock on!, Foos!
And Paramore. And Weezer. They could do this for days. Josh is legit.
Sublime with Rome...
The Offspring too.
And Smile Empty Soul
He was even in Guns N Roses for two years (97-99).
I wanna see Dave and the boys do the Uncontrollable Urge dance.
they finally got good cymbals
He was also in the vandals
They honestly should do a Garage Inc Double LP of covers.
I mean…… A PERFECT Fin CIRCLE is only, probably like amongst his best drum work ever…
Haha fucking awesome !!!
One word…….Monster!!!!!
Dave Grohl is a National Treasure. Holy shit. i wanted to hear him do a whole NIN covers set
