It’s not, I live in a vehicle , trust me when you have to turn the volume up full blast and you still can’t hear over the hammering on the roof, any romantic notions wear off pretty fast ( especially when it’s November and it’s been raining non stop for two weeks already!!)
In the past, owning a home was a symbol of freedom. Today, van life is the new symbol to freedom.
I never thought having a house was freeing it's the number one way to be locked in one place
I have an older friend who said this is what the hippies did to rebel against the rise in cost of many things. They found land owners to rent from across the country. Planted gardens on the land they lived for a few months at at time.
Many people get the tiny homes or a bus converted into a home, because they can't afford a bigger house. Not all, of course.

This is the first time I see a double decker, it's amazing how spacious it is, I love the size of the bedrooms, looks comfortable, I was a bit disappointed to see the bathroom, I was specting to see a shower.
They could use much better the main floor area instead having a huge dinning table.

As an American I envy the fact that you Brits have double decker busses to convert into houses
I'm a brit and I wanna do this myself, tbh I don't really wanna use a double decker bus, but I'd have to fit 4 of us, so I have no choice. I'd say if you're only looking to cater for yourself then stick with a regular bus, but if it's more than 3 of you then try and get a double decker... BTW sorry if I don't make much sense, I've just woke up

I think it's the the type of people who have UA-cam channels that naturally are more visually aware / concerned. The other 95% of conversions from people without channels are much more "normal" and lived in looking. Most of these UA-cam bus conversion families are also instagram fanatics, etc.

Its better the shower is separate outside so the inside bus part doesn't get mildew and moldy

Most people wouldn't normally think of cows as being concerned with who's moving in next door and deciding whether or not they are happy with the people moving in next door; so the idea in itself is quite funny. I think comedy uses that kind of thing quite a bit.
An interesting example is the film 'Bad Santa (
2003). People expect Santa Clause to be good natured in stories, but this Santa is the opposite and it makes it funny (not to everybody of course).

I’ve been living the gypsy life for years, in a motor home, and I DREAM of having a double decker bus, just to have a bit more floor space, without having more length to manipulate around corners! I absolutely love this bus, though I would only need one bedroom so I could have the shower on board.

I saw another double decker bus. So much room still to add many things of comfort. They had a huge bathroom. Separate shower big. Fireplace. Omg you have to see it. This one here is to much wasted space. Like that big table I doubt the cows go in for a game of cards. Lol. I doubt 10 ppl are ever there to party. Or to watch sports or a movie etc. but it’s ok. But yes they could have had a huge bathroom and shower with tub. But I do not understand why they never put that in.

I always sat in the back of the bus because we could get away with all kinds of shanahans that the bus driver couldn't see lol. Nice bus, I would LOVE to do this one day 🤗 Crazy amount of space, I'm amazed that you've got 3 bedrooms! Sure they're small and all bed but they're still private bedrooms which is incredible!

If this was an B&B hotel thing (doesn’t matter if it has breakfast or not, I wouldn’t care), I would 1000% Rent it for a few nights for that toilet (always been a dream of mine to drive a bus or even pretend)

It would be nicer if you made it into a two bedroom then make a shower inside for more convenience. It's kinda hassle the shower is outside. What if you feel to have shower at night. You need to go out.

Spot on @frith. It makes me sick to my gut!!! Homes were built to last and with better quality products etc and with real tradies and being paid their worth and the homes were also a hell of alot cheaper like both my grandparents homes but now pfft cars last longer than a brand new home 🏡

I don’t know if I wasn’t paying enough attention, but before you showed the toilet I thought you could drive the bus and move it and I imagined how cool it would be to stay in the front of the bus upstairs tucked up in the bed and look through the windows haha

It's probably after realizing that not only doesn't it drive, negating the vanlife tag, it's also stuck on a rather sub-optimal location: a small field on the country side.
I mean, might as well just have built a (tiny)house there if you're not planning on driving around anyway. It has all the disadvantages of a vehicle, but none of it's advantages.

honestly this is the first time I see a layout worth going for. I would love to get a double decker make some changes on this for more storage but honestly this looks like it has a ton of potential. to actually have three bedrooms looks like you can stand in them if you go for just a little bit smaller of the bed then you can actually comfortably see people and the dining area instead of it just being sitting only you can have storage in it so you could actually have a ton of storage in this place.

Nice, but not a great place to have put the kitchen - the most likely place to have a fire is a kitchen, so you don't want to have to get past a burning kitchen to get out. That emergency exit needs to work.

On most buses, any side window can be quickly released and pushed out to make for an emergency escape in case, say, the bus fell over and the emergency exit was no longer available. Honestly, I wouldn't want to sleep upstairs unless that was the case.

getting an HGV license would be the biggest pain for most of us I think. But you're all set, just the money to think about and the sale of your existing home if you own it would more than cover the project.

The back of the bus is the best place to sit when your on a school trip, we can mess around and do whatever we want with the teachers not knowing

Good to see, I've been converting my 1966 London Routemaster into a motorhome....Started off in tents, VW Camper, Motorhome then a bus...bigger and better everytime.....don't ask how much I've spent but it's getting on for £50k..

In NYC we get new bus models like every 2 yrs. They still have that. Its now a 20in screen that also screens a map where the bus is the next stop info and other notification etc. Great times we living in..

I used to drive these Leyland Olympians in service, the push button gear selector was modern in my time as it meant the bus had fully-automatic gears.
Why not get single beds to gain a significant amount of space?
Because there's not much space even if you put a single and it forces people out their room to interact
A shared Queen takes up less space for couples
It's also a little more 'cozy', if you get my drift.

I think its brilliant and wld LOVE to live in a bus like that. My favourite room is the loo 😂😂. The steering wheel is a great place to put my book 🤭. The lovely wide open area surrounding the home is great for walking my dog. Love the neighbours too, I cld mooooove in anytime. Be at one with nature. 😍💝💝💝
Yep! I was a backseat rider. Being one of the first that the bus picked up on the run, I always got the back seat!😊
