Summer Rayne Oakes Summer, your friend is easily enjoyable (very peaceful energy; I can certainly understand why you two are friends). His goals are totally obtainable, and for the most part, his desire to incorporate plants into his space reflect what all who cohabitate with plants want. He’s lucky to have your expertise to bring his hopes to fruition. This was a thoroughly enjoyable video. It just goes to show that there’s NO need to be put-off by living in a concrete jungle, especially when living aside plants is an option. You both are charming 💜. Wow. Your knowledge is insane! South African looking into botany and am showing all my friends your videos. You remind me of my grandparents and how can point at every bush and identify its scientific name and origin. Beautiful.
What a difference plants can make. I liked everything about this video. And that orb, wow! Beautiful choice. Hope we get an update on this video to see how the plants are growing along😊
This is amazing and I would LOVE more makeovers! This was incredibly helpful since his home was northeast facing and it was great to see what plants you chose for that environment.
I got three medium-small size plants in my bedroom and my mental well being over all has improved significantly. I also noticed less dust particle in my room and the humidity level is perfect. The plans also act as sound cancelling and the dull green leaves decreases my anxiety episodes.
This would be such a good series of you going into people's houses and giving them a houseplant home makeover. I watch this quite frequently and it's so much fun seeing the different ways you get around certain hurdles and your reasonings for certain plants.
Hello summer. It’s from korea. I really enjoy your “makeover” video and it’s so great work !! I hope you make more “makeover” video. It’s very unique and useful than other video. I am watching this 10 times !! :)
*"Thaumatophyllum"* means "Miracle Leaf." There are about 20 former Philodendrons that grow on a sturdy trunk that were moved to this revived genus a few months ago. Damon knows philosophy and would probably work that out.

I worked for a wholesale plant store and absolutely loved that job..I am honestly doing a career change. After my film school as fun as it was, I always missed my plants. I would take home plants that looked unhealthy and grow them... I have a pothos that's 6 years old and Chinese evergreen 6 years old... Mini roses... About 5 years old ... Lots of herbs that return every year.... spider plants that I propagated... ribbon plants too...Love them. Wish I had a home like his.... I just got an aerogarden last year and it takes care of all my kitchen herbs over winter 😀
That northeast exposure is a sweet spot for many plants. Worked in a hospital with that exposure and a central air windowsill that I grew ten orchid plants a money tree and several other plants. Those orchids bloomed non-stop. Really miss that place.

Wow Summer, this was fantastic :D So comprehensive. It's probably better to have started where you started (meaning not so many plants everywhere) probably more realistic for your friend to take care of (at least till he gets used to taking care of more plants), or whoever he gets to babysit since he's out of town a lot. You've definitely been making me take a second look at a lot of old standards like chinese evergreen and pothos. I just had to buy a Chinese Ming Fern - Asparagus macowanii, after you featured it on your 365day series :) This made me seriously think about getting added lights to certain areas of my home, it always felt too complicated but thru your explanation and instruction made me think it's not so complicated! Your enthusiasm and true love for plants, and your beautiful unfettered visual sense, just shows through and inspires in so many ways esp. to another apartment dweller grower like myself. Also the inspiration extends past growing, just living your life. Five stars! hehe So fun, love that coffee table sculpture vase too. I could go on and on! Thanks Summer!
I love this video! You did such a wonderful job with Damon’s home! I’m definitely getting those grow lights for my kitchen since I have several pothos varieties and philodendron’s trailing down the sides of my cabinets. @@summerrayneoakes This video was exactly what I needed. I live in cold and cloudy Michigan where light is dim 7 months of the year. I am very fortunate to have a southern facing sunroom with glass sliders floor to ceiling. I move most of my plants out into the sunroom during the spring/summer months (out of direct light.) I have had really good luck with my large aloe and a large Christmas cactus in my condo thus far. Although I am a master gardener outside in a zone 5 garden I do, however, want to expand my "indoor plant pallet" this summer so I subscribed to learn more about houseplants indoor. I have had numerous houseplants many years ago in my old Cape Cod where I was successful in propagating many plants in addition to African Violets, but I know I need a "refresher course" now. I am learning a lot about new options like the herb garden, the orb etc. Way cool!
Love this video! We can see how much time and effort you have put into this project. You are so knowledgeable that it helps everyone make better plant decisions. I’m very happy for you that you got such awesome sponsors as well! You are making all the plant moms/dads proud!! ❤️🌱🌿
Well, I'm from Singapore, in the middle of the equator, so there is a lot of the tips regarding lighting and humidity issues that is very different for me. But, your videos have inspired me to try out different arrangement of plants in my own apartment and i think its going to be great!
Great Video. I'm new subscriber and new to outdoor succulents so far. This video inspired me to start bringing plants into my home. Loved seeing the transformation and insight into the process from start to finish. Looks beautiful and great info. Thank you

Thank you for this and Thank you for dedicating so much Time and love in everything you do💝 It really shows. Cant wait to see what you come up with next!
I'm actually impressed and enjoy this series where you do up people's places... it's therapeutic to watch while at the same time can see how you apply what you know to different kind of home conditions... cool!!!
Awesomein the dark bedroom in the back you could have a plant and have a twin out in the window and then every two weeks you could just switch them. It's a trick that they use in the plant maintenance companies that maintain office plants they keep one plant in the lobby for example a beautiful Fern and they keep another beautiful Fern in the greenhouse then they just switch them every two weeks.
Thank you . I learnt a lot on snake plant and many maker plant. I do have them but I didn't know before how to arrange them well when we grow the new one
I had the fulfillment of watching something on TV, in other words this is so professionally made, your work as well and what I liked the most is you doing your thing while he is away, this gave a kind of an excitement and story to this episode. Thank you very much, watched that on fullscreen with no interruption!
haha. The humor-always subtle. I think Damon added a nice layer of it in. And yes, demonstrations indeed help! Good luck with the plant sweater and the light! Let me know if it keeps your plant cozy!
15 years in the film industry and I managed to avoid crushing on any of the "a Listers" I worked with... Verdant foliage and a pair of dungarees and I'm all flustered! But that says more about me. Top notch content Summer, keep it coming 😀

Way cool!
Very interesting video, thank you. What a lovely apartment your friend has. And what a wonderful job you did with the space. 👍👍

This was awesome! I understand plants & lighting so much more now. Can’t wait to go buy some more plants 🌿🌴🍀

I'm actually impressed and enjoy this series where you do up people's places... it's therapeutic to watch while at the same time can see how you apply what you know to different kind of home conditions... cool!!!
So pleased!
I'm just going to echo everyone here and say I would love a plant one on me Netflix show.
I do have them but I didn't know before how to arrange them well when we grow the new one
love that Ikebana vase, looks one of a kind too!
I had the fulfillment of watching something on TV, in other words this is so professionally made, your work as well and what I liked the most is you doing your thing while he is away, this gave a kind of an excitement and story to this episode. Thank you very much, watched that on fullscreen with no interruption!
This was really neat!
Top notch content Summer, keep it coming 😀
haha. "It's the overalls"
@@summerrayneoakes you're probably right, they're my garment of choice on my community allotment.
