Hi Summer. My name is Becky Ryan. I live on Singer Island, Fl. Many years ago, while living in Middletown, NY, I had lots of plants. However, after moving down here full town in 2005, I did not have ANY plants in my house. Tried plants outside, but, living on the ocean, nothing ever grew outside because of the salt and sea. Hi Summer, forever Kippee.. I’m sure she has given you lots of energy.. Thank you for your videos, they have inspired me to do my own indoor garden too!!😄
Miss orchid girl and Summer Rayne Oakes are my two favorite channels on youtube 💕 there both just so genuine, wise and wonderful, i cant get enough of both of them.
I have been discovering a list of houseplant UA-camrs for quite sometimes and there are always reasons to go back to you, Summer. There is a beautiful spirit that makes your house is always alluring even though it's not a super luxury apartment. Your mission in sustainability is organically practical and you showed it. Now I know this urban jungle is a definitive luxury for its inhabitant and knowing that you have been there for at least 15 years is the work of mother earth. As Indonesian, I knew a lot of native plant species from my country by watching your channel. I can't thank you enough. Terima Kasih (Thank You). I wish I could visit the Homestead Brooklyn someday. Please don't get rid of this house if you move to the country. Make it as a laboratory for our children.
I'm so pleased to receive your comment; and that you've learned some of your own native species through the channel. Noticing the plants around us-both inside and out-shows that we take time, slow down, and tune into a different wavelength. My best to you.
Your beloved Kippee lives forever in your heart and memories. Thank you for your love to plants that are responding to your love and care for them. ☀️🌎🌏🌍☀️
Mourning Doves are _lovely_ . We have them out here in Southern California, and I never get tired of hearing their little purring 'coo's in the late summer and early autumn's.
42:14 I have a hoya like that, and I used to keep it in a southish facing window. It bloomed all the time, but the bright light really bleached the leaves, until it had more or less lost its dark, veiny leaves in favour of super light leaves. So I moved it a few feet away from the window and now it's starting to look like yours again, but it hasn't bloomed even once. I don't know if the stress of the sun made it bloom so much, but since I like the leaves more than the flowers I'm not too sad.
A double take on another adventure with you. I've decided that I'm not going to consider myself as crazy anymore, you just won the title from me. I love your kind of crazy.👍
I know this video is from spring, but every time you mentioned Kippee, I felt moved to tears. The love you have for her is obvious. Also, love the calming vibe of this home tour!

This video is right on time. Not only am I here for the gorgeous plant home jungle, but the bird feeders. I made up a ghetto bird feeder in my back yard only to watch two squirrels take the tray out and lick it clean a few feet from where I set things up. I put a planter tray in a hanging wire basket and some bird seed for the purpose of attracting the blue jays and cardinals. I was only able to enjoy watching these birds, the chickadees and starlings for about 2-3 days before the squirrels ruined the day. I need a proper bird feeder and will see if I can find one this week. Nature is so beautiful and I love seeing colorful cheerful birds when I'm washing my dishes from my window.

Ohh, kippee made me cru, I just don't know how you manage seeing her photos everywhere, I'd burst into tears every 2 seconds😢. I just love you Summer, what an amazing young lady!😍💚❤ oh, how I would like to have a cup of tea with you in your beautiful home! But alas I live in Italy and I don't travel😄
You show such a nice attitude before situations. Its notorious your resolution to not be defeated in your way of grow and maintain your personal forest. Its inspiring. You are brava as you are bonita. From Puerto Rico. BTW you speak clear and understandable. And you know what are you talking, so intelligent and versed.
I bought bird feeders several months ago! I love watching them. I'm in south Mississippi and the common birds here are the male and female Cardinals, Mourning Doves, Tufted Titmouses, Chickadees, Blue Jays, Northern Mockingbirds, Brown Thrashers, and Red-Bellied Woodpeckers. I also recently saw a Finch. And there are a few other birds I forgot the name to that don't visit as much as the others. Aside from the bird feeders, in March, a large flock of Cedar Waxwings came around eating the berries off of bushes. They were so cool!
Wow, a most impressive botanical collection! How the heck do you find time to take care of them, you must have a team of gardeners working for you. Thankyou for a great vid.
After viewing this video, I am in awe (as always) of the beauty, creativity and warmth of your home. I also enjoy nature, and try to have it in my home and outside in a garden. I'll never have the scale of plants that you have...or have the green thumb and luck, but I get inspiration watching these videos. I love the homage to Kippee...so sweet. I love that you have bird feeders, as I have my feeders in my yard and really enjoy watching them. Now I'm getting the hummingbirds. In the spring, you may see migrating songbirds for a few days, that aren't in the flock of the usual visitors, that move on to their destinations. It's very interesting and fun... my "fine feathered friends"...lol. I'm saving this video. Thank you again, Summer...love it.😍
Thanks so much for your comments. I see a lot of migratory birds in the parks and community garden, where there is a bit more green, but around my building, it's the more urban birds that have made their home. Regardless, they are so enjoyable and entertaining, as you already know!
Summer, I immediately come to this specific video when I’m sad, or having an anxiety attack. It completely mellows me down, the music is perfect, and you’re so positive & fun to watch, thank you 💚

Hi Summer, I just want to tell you how much I enjoyed this video, I just grabbed a cup of sweet tea and sat back and watched and listened to everything you talked about and showed us. I was so amazed at how many plants you have and how you have them styled in the space you have, you for sure have your own tropical jungle. I have gotten so much great advice and plant tips from watching your channel. I love that you have bits and pieces and memories of Kippy, what a wonderful amazing sweet bird she was and I really enjoyed watching the videos that had her in them. I could go on and on about how amazing your apartment is and how much I loved this video, but for now I will just thank you again, you are so wonderful, stay safe and I look forward to your next video, XOXO, bye for now.
You are such a sweetheart and your home has such a charming character and personality, and you have inspired half of the globe to join the plant community. My home had a few plants in the past and now it is beginning to look like a jungle haha... Thank you Summer Rayne Oakes for making all these wonderful and inspiring videos. I wish you and yours the best.... and maybe a little spring chicken in the future? because what is a home without a bird? ;)
Ive watched it grow, i remember when you could walk around that apartment. That is a crazy place, it has its own little biosphere. I think you are going to need a bigger boat. Im going to do a video soon, only just started popping through, doesn't feel as sterile anymore. Building docking for my oscillator's today and a little fence for bird control. I rescued a frog and baby the other day, I put them in a pot with water and was playing with them. I went in the kitchen and came back and the baby was gone a bird must of got him, devastated. I left the big frog in a safe place. The next day, I was watering and he/she came hopping over to me. So I picked it up and I could feel its tiny heart beat. It didn't want to leave me, wouldn't jump from my hands just snuggled in. My uncle has a bird garden, its incredible, they come wash under his waterfall and pond. Meditate in the garden if you want to be among them, I love them had a pet robin who would come hopping into my room every evening when I was reading. My little baby that bird.
We need another 2023 home tour if anyone agrees :). I feel more connected to this kind of content even though I also like watching the new upstate content from time to time, maybe it comes from living in small apartment in busy cities :) :) :)

We never know what form our soulmates will come in. Sometimes it’s a chicken. 💛
It was a pleasure to watch your house tour. Having so many plants is a lot of work. You are truly plant lover. Your house is a worm and cozy place. I love those cute little pots. Thank you for sharing with us your little paradise ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Splendid as usual ~ so much inspiration, peace and nature ❤️❤️❤️🌱🌱🌱👏👏👏😍😍😍
I bought bird feeders several months ago! I love watching them. I'm in south Mississippi and the common birds here are the male and female Cardinals, Mourning Doves, Tufted Titmouses, Chickadees, Blue Jays, Northern Mockingbirds, Brown Thrashers, and Red-Bellied Woodpeckers. I also recently saw a Finch. And there are a few other birds I forgot the name to that don't visit as much as the others.
Aside from the bird feeders, in March, a large flock of Cedar Waxwings came around eating the berries off of bushes. They were so cool!
Oh my gosh! This was so inspiring, fun, and hilarious! This was amazing and it made my day.
I love everything in this video: the plants, the spaces, the pots...it is just magical inclunding you ❤
Thank you so much for sharing this with us. This really brightened my day & I enjoyed every second...Greatings from Germamy!😊
Hello!
I could listen to you talk about plants forever. I’m new to indoor plants but loving all of the information from your channel 🥰🌿
Beautiful plants and nice home
Aw, the Kippee bit made me tear up. Forever in our hearts!
Wow, a most impressive botanical collection! How the heck do you find time to take care of them, you must have a team of gardeners working for you. Thankyou for a great vid.
You are the NYC fairy. Your personality is so whimsical. Children must be drawn to you.
I can't even imagine moving day if you decided to move.

Your homage to Kippee made me teary-eyed. She was so sweet
Summer, I immediately come to this specific video when I’m sad, or having an anxiety attack.
It completely mellows me down, the music is perfect, and you’re so positive & fun to watch, thank you 💚
I love watching your videos but I also listen to them in the background while I shop online for plants 😂

I know I'm here for the plants, but I loved the little bits in between. Especially on how you cook and compost!

Maybe some ropes across the ceiling, like an indoor catenary would let the climbers shoot across ceilings :)
First time that I see an ardisia in a plant tour, so happy about it! I had mine for 2 years, and it's almost three feet tall now, one of my favorite.
You are such a sweetheart and your home has such a charming character and personality, and you have inspired half of the globe to join the plant community. My home had a few plants in the past and now it is beginning to look like a jungle haha... Thank you Summer Rayne Oakes for making all these wonderful and inspiring videos. I wish you and yours the best.... and maybe a little spring chicken in the future? because what is a home without a bird? ;)
Coffee and your house plant tour make for a great morning! Thank you for making my day a little brighter!
Glad it can brighten your day!
Very nice home..all green...love to watch all ur videos how u r crazy about plants..u have vast knowledge..keep it up😍👍🌿🌿🌿
