      I had a mom too, but she wasn't Japanese. She hated the Japanese, because she was WW2 generation. Is that the same? I miss my mom too.

      Tiffany would have never thought of that!! I was just thinking what could I use instead. I typically avoid the comment section but I'm glad I looked. If you line the can with cling wrap you could get it out easy or make it by spreading out the rice and doing it cookie cutter style with the can! Thank you Tiffany!

    You can also use the can the Spam came in as a mold. If you line the inside with cling-film you can put the rice inside and pack it down, then pull the cling-film up out of the can and the rice will be shaped the same way. Perfect size since it is the same shape as the spam!

    Please thank your mom for appearing in this video and teaching us how to make these. I was so happy to see her - she looks great! I also appreciated knowing how to make these without a mould. I grew up eating Klik - which is the Canadian version of SPAM. My mom would slice it and fry it and I loved it. I am going to be trying this!

    I just made this and everyone loved it! They gobbled it up so quickly and kept asking for more even though I wasn't even finished assembling them haha XD The only thing I changed was I used roasted seaweed snacks instead of nori cuz I didn't have any, but it still turned out great! Thank you for the AWESOME recipe :)

      Nori is still thw same as swhat you would call seaweed snacks honestly here in hawaii theres at least 2 types of nori i know the regular one and the sushi nori is what i call it and you can make spam handrolls for them on the go its just a small ball of rice regular snack nori and small rectangles of spam hope this helps

      Of course you can. What possible effect could adding less sugar in a sauce have? You could even sprinkle red pepper on the rice or add sriracha~

    Go for broke! That's a WWII reference to the hard fighting boys from Hawaii's 100th battalion

      Actually it's the slogan for the entire 442nd company of Japanese-American soldiers. The 10th Battalion was a member of the 442.

    • @illogicalmethod
      @illogicalmethod 4 роки тому +1

      @@Kris-qt6lr Originally, the 100th battalion was a stand alone. Formed from Hawaii national guard.
      The 442nd was created after, from volunteers, due to the performance of the Varsity Victory Volunteers and the 100th battalion's performance in training.
      They were joined with the 442nd later, but allowed to keep their 100th battalion designation, due to their service record to date.

      100th battalion/442nd Regimental Combat Team.

      "Go for broke" is the motto of the 100th Battalion/ 442nd Regimental Combat Team, but it's also a Hawaii Pidgin English gamboling slang to shoot the works or wager everything on one roll.
