An opponent that noticed this (and had no removal) would have realized there were 2 cylinders and stopped the battle phase.
I remember dueling this one dude a few days ago and I cleared his field. He had no cards. He draws a Reinforcement of the Army and in that one turn he was able to Link/Xyz/Synschro Summon a chunk of monsters and he obviously beat me but boy was I hyper pissed that one spell card can result in him building back his entire field.

I know a lot of people talk about the “Read the cards” joke, but FIELD AWARENESS is another thing that you always have to keep a eye on as well……. Anyhow, this proves once again why I always leas a space in my decks for TRAP CARDS.

The effects are good but battle traps are useless since most competetive decks can get rid of them before even entering the battle phase. They need to start making new battle traps that has strong floating effects to even be played.
@@mitrimind1027 floating effects is backrow protection. Basically if opponent destroys it you get an advantage which would make your opponents might not want to destroy them. Think basically waking the dragon but if it doesnt float then you get to use the battle protection. That is the only way now for battle traps to be useful.

Dude had Calculator with plenty of ATK was about to kill me but I pulled the ol' Uno Reverse Card of Magical Cylinder. Dude was pissed off to high hell. Always expect the Uno Reverse Card
one trap card that will psychologically destroy your opponent is anti-raigeki. yes I know it is not a reliable card, and it does not even guarantee victory, but the psychological damage will remain for months or even years if you pull it off.
Was playing Crusadia in real life, pumping attack to almost 16k. My opponent played old favourite deck.....and you guessed it, Magic Cylinder. I wasn't happy about it 😅
Dude wanted to play 4d chess while op was playing 5d. He tried to bait the mc with the 1600 if it went through that's 1600 and pass. If it was countered swing for 3k. Keeping a solid lead.
I think battle trap is still useful if the archetype that used this, has weird gimmick or just having diversity in playstyle. Like D/D/D and Rokket can access different extra deck monsters from fusion to link. Dark Magician has balance between monster, spell and trap. Gravekeeper has lot of lockdown cards like necrovalley, hidden temple of necrovalley and Gravekeeper's shaman. So you play psychological games with your opponent and make them hesitate to attack. Most of the time, battle trap is used in rogue deck like traptrix but interestingly, successful enough to resolve. So it's like mix of control and aggro decks.

I remember getting into a heated battle but when it looked like I was defeated with only a single face down the enemy went for game only for me to activate my Magic Cylinder! I could only imagine how that Utopia player felt when suddenly their 10k+ beat stick turned around and cut them down with enough force to split a galaxy in two.
Or perhaps he thought: Oh there goes the cylinder! Lol you can have the little ATK one! Eat this 3k now! Hmm wait, wasn't the cylinder...was set on the...corner? So 2 cylinders...?!
My real guess is that he DID know of the two magic cylinders but he thought he could face tank the damage and remove the threats on board, howEVER he didn't read cylinder revolver properly, thinking it's only a retriever for magic cylinder and not a boost. You have no cards in hand, so if he kept pressure on board he could've smothered you. That's what I think

After the first one, I would immeaditly have trust issues, and would highly suspect there being another on the board since he used the first one on the vastly weaker monster. He deserved to lose to the 2nd one
