Ahh shoot, it looks like I got it right when I mentioned the difference but when I listed the fans I was using I goofed. I’ll correct the link in the description and pin this comment.
It's amazing they went through the trouble making it for so many different mounts and probes. I know it's not an insanely hard thing to do... but most people don't bother. They make only what they need for themselves and at times may add one or two options. Then people have to download it and mod it themselves to make any necessary changes.
Great coverage of Dragon Burner! I've been using this toolhead for a long time, starting with rook 2020. It's been great on my V0, Micron+ with boop, and now Stealthchanger with 6 Dragon Burner tools planned. I've also used it's longer Rapid Burner configuration for a Rapido UHF, which is nice because it puts the nozzle at the same location as normal.
Great Video! I have to take some responsibility for the lack of a configurator for V8, I originally made the V7 one and have been meaning to update it, but like you mentioned, the options have exploded, and it's a lot of work 😅
Dude! That config is freaking awesome. I won’t pretend to know what has to go into the backend to make it happen but it’s seriously such a cool tool. Keep up the great work buddy ❤️
all these voron toolheads are just insane oO; So well packed. mind boggling! Can't wait for all that knowledge to wrinkle down to larger designs, more every day designs
thing is there is a LOT of stuff for the SB for the big 2.4's, and while this little guy can work for a 2.4, there are some extras (like Knomi for example) that do not have an adaption for it.
have run db for a month, absolutely love it. I went from have marginally not enough cooling on miniSB to too much cooling on DB with same fans! (yes I printed an adapter while waiting for 4010 fans) also idk cat_cowl is a thing, am printing it 🤣
Running one on my Micron and in the middle of building the Rapid Burner for my 0.2, which is the same thing but meant for UHF hotends lol Love this little toolhead
I made myself a 4010 based toolhead for the v0. What i noticed in CAD, you would need to shift the belts slightly backwards if you want some clearance between front door, fans and belts. My toolhead essentially kept the mini SB looks, but integrated a lgx lite and managed to fit a dragon uhf without melt zone extender in it. Stupidly tight fit, but fits in the very same footprint as the original toolhead. What i noticed is that certain hotends partially block the part cooling, like a dragon sf and hf. My toolhead was originally fitted with a dragon hf, but due to cooling issues i swapped to the dragon uhf with its narrower heater block. Minimum layer time for pla went down by 2 seconds down to 6 seconds. No cfd was involved there. Not sure how the dragon burner performs in real world printing, but could you do a performance test for it minimum layer times? I think thats a good measure how well a toolhead can cool
Great info! I have been thinking about doing this same upgrade. I am also planning on putting this on my Micron Plus that I hope to start out soon. Nice work and thanks for the vid!
I do a fully custome DragonStM3D version with SLS Parts with Canbus, Zeroclicky, HotendLeds are High Density Rainbow RGB (GRB) (Hex Density) Sequins, and allaround lighter toolhead with hextrudort CNC version, a Phaetus Rapido HF Hotend on a carbide Phaetus nozzel. Man is burns and cools the hotend so well.
yep for real best tool head.. Use it on my V2.4 and V.0 with Rapido v2 on V2 and Dragon on my V.0 both run Sherpa mini. Also running 12k 4010 fans for cooling
I tried to adapt the DB for my Tronxy x5sa-400 to use the genuine MK8 Heatsink, V-Slot Carriage including a side mounted Klicky Probe. After hours of modeling i decided to abort this adaption. Instead of it, i designed my own toolhead based on the "artis3d extruder type X".
I can't find the location for the standoffs and the CAN bus board mount in the video. Also, will there be a link to make the STL for the Version 8 of this? Great video.
Nice, I've got a 0.1 with a nevermore and mini after lgx lite and my own side mounted neopixels under the rail. I think I'll leave it as is, I'd love a big 300 cubed trident with a tool changer though so I'll keep my eye on this.
Thank you for the awesome video Daniel. It's a top quality video in every way like all of your content is. Most times I love how your video's are short and to the point. On this one I was hoping you got just a bit more detailed with the nozzle led's. I find that little fragile part a bit confusing. It's really hard to get in place without breaking something and even when it's in place - it doesn't lock in or seem quite right. Then it doesn't stay unless you use a couple drops of CA which I hated to do. That's the one area that didn't seem well thought out or designed. It doesn't make me regret the Dragonburner choice and wouldn't cause me to hesitate using it on another printer. While the Bambu hotend does work and it's cheap - I personally don't care for it for a couple of different reasons. But isn't it great to have choices?
Thank you for the complete and accurate introduction. I couldn't find the link to the CAN board mount file in the video description. Can you provide the link?
Hmmmm I have a half assembled V0 kicking around that I never finished due to poor quality prints from the kit, specifically for the stealthburner that I've been too lazy to print replacements for. Maybe I'll have to just go for dragon burner.
After installing dual 5015 on my bedslinger i'm definitely missing the ability to print practically in thin air on my voron. Gonna install one of these.
Once you've got some time on that toolhead, I'd be interested in knowing your thoughts on Dragon Burner vs Stealth Burner cooling-wise. It may not be an apples-to-apples comparison, though... a V0 is much smaller than a V2 or a Trident.
I’m using the dragon burner, i found that the distance between the sherpa mini and the hotend it is too long, about 7 cm , there is way too much plastic in between, not so ideal for printing tpu, I’m now looking for another option
Thank you for this video and thanks to @MapleLeafMakers I got into my V0.2 the dragonburner 7.0 so far I really love this tolhead!. I do not know if I will upgrade my Stealthburner on the V2.4 but I'm tepmped to do it, althought I do not have can but on neither machine yet since I was not ablke to look for a relieable one (maybe is lack of research on my side) but apparently some have some issues and I want reliability in my Voron's. Thanks again!
I have used this tool head since the the beginning, great design by chirp however from my journey and trail and error this too head need to be stiffened up a bit for the longer hotends like rapido uhf as the leaver effect it too great causing the y axis input shaping not as high as it should be, with that being said I have run the v4 version for the v0.1 at 1000mm/s at 75k accel before and it survived lol ofcourse the cooling is the massive limitation by then
You know, I've been trying to think of a project to use at least some of the parts from my old neptune 2s (which was absolute trash) and being able to use bambu hotends of which I have plenty is a huge incentive.
The only one problem of dragon burner is using of 3010 hotend cooler, which is realy loud, when get enought airflow. Im use some of this heads to my toolchanger printer, but this realy sucks, and i still want to redesign toolheads for myself to use 4010 or 4020 coller with undervoltage and low noise.
Is it possible to use Beacon with it? I saw there are alternative X carriage mounts with heat inserts at the bottom but I'm not sure if it's possible...
I just saw a video about FlexTap. It doesn't have magnets so I think it's got a low enough probing force for V0s. That would be a cool additional mod for this thing.
Great job getting a video out there explaining the Dragon Burner! I'm currently attempting to adapt a solution for the ender 3 pro, has anyone figured this out already?
Awesome mod/review. Wish they had it for the Ender 3 (I looked, but didn't find any options). I need to upgrade my hotend, but I'm so lost I have absolutely no clue what to do (after months of consideration). Everything just seems to be so complicated and/or expensive. I mostly just want to print nylon at good quality without slowing down the speed and would really prefer if I could increase the speed to 100-150mm/s without losing quality. My hotend and extruder are OEM, but my printing quality is Excellent... so I'm really hoping to not diminish my quality in any way also. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. I could really use some advice.
Would this work on the Creality Spider 3.0 hotend? It has a V6 mount. I am thinking of using this on my Ender 3 Pro that I converted to a corexy machine.
No one mentions that here there are three fans and two fan ports on the ebb36 so did you club the two 4010 and plug them into one fan port and 3010 into another ?
A got my siboor v0.2 since December and 2 days ago the motherboard failed on me and now i think I'm going for a mantap4 with cb1. A bit disappointed about the motherboard fail after just 4 mouth😢😢
@@ModBotArmy I know Daniel, I'm just trolling you. Sorry. 🙂 It looks to me like the toolhead is best used on small format Voron style printers, but you are correct... if you have a mount... it would be a nice upgrade for most of the printers out there. Thanks again for you content and streams.
Might want to mention that the cooling fans are 4010,not 3010

Love the review! Glad you liked it and hope it keeps working well for you
Thank you for making such an awesome toolhead. Hopefully this gets it in front of some new people! Looking forward to following your work 😊
Been using it since Steph from OGMP recommended it, thanks Chirpy for the great addons to my vorons

It did with the sovol sv08
Of course I learn about the dragon burner right after I finished upgrading my 2.4 to canbus with the EBB2209 board and stealthburner toolhead

The Dragon Burner is so well designed and a well worth upgrade over mini SB

There is even user moded mount for the Ender3! I'm thinking of doing this, along with using an M4 extruder in place of the Creality one.

Yes and Yes 40x10 for the 2 part cooling fans. It still uses the smaller 30x10 for the hotend fan.
