How many songs from today will hold up 40-50 years later? The 70’s had such great music from multiple genre’s. We who grew up in that decade were lucky.
This song brings me back to the roller rink we used to go to, United Skates of America, and asking a girl to skate to the slow song, this was always the song or so it seemed. So much fun!!
You're awesome. I get such a rush of happiness watching your reactions. Hearing this song brings me back to being a young girl, grabbing the wooden spoon from the kitchen drawer and singing my heart out.
Another excellent choice!! 😊 This song reminds me of the soulful sounds of Hall and Oates...Sara Smile and Rich Girl in particular, some of their early hits among many. 😅 Harry Hamlin was the actor who played Perseus in the Ray Harryhausen movie Clash Of the Titans. I love all of Harryhausen's movie such as Jason and The Argonauts as well as the Sinbad movies like The Golden Voyages of Sinbad or Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger. 😅 Clash of the Titans was released in the States on June 12, 1981 and in the U.K. on July 2, 1981. 😂
Most of their stuff is 80's but the two songs I posted are mid to late 70's. Rich Girl was released in 1977 and Sara Smile in 1975. 😊 Mark hearted my post so cross your fingers that he gives one of them a listen. 😅
Man , I remember exactly where I was and where I was going to the day I first heard this song. Yes it screams seventies quite possibly the best decade for music. Oh the memories, LIFE WAS SO UNBELIEVABLY AWESOME.
This makes me smile. I remember when this song came out. It's funny, life, I can remember every word to this song but I can't remember what I walked into the kitchen for.
70s and 80s were absolutely fire ...and a privilege to have grown up listening to this music...great reaction kid... Please check Ram Jam - Black Betty U won't be disappointed Cheers
That was awesome... your reactions are the best, definitely enjoy what you do here...BTW it is actor Harry Hamlin from 1981 Clash of the Titans, and the keyboard player is J.C. Crowley who your comparing his looks too.
You've got to do Al Stewart, "Year of the Cat:, from the 70s. Perhaps the quintessential soundtrack of that decade. Half a century laterl and I still love it. I recommend a live version, but you do you. You will have a reaction like your first Pink Floyd. Different style, but same amazement. Love your videos, brother!
I haven’t heard this song in a while and I freaking love it. I’m here for it and I’m here for your reactions! You’re totally brightening up my day and I appreciate you
Great song! Wow. Played this on vinyl, on my inexpensive record player. Also heard it on the radio as I was driving to school. I’d sing it as loud as I could in the car. Full of emotion - usually because I had broken up with my boyfriend. A teenage girl with a broken heart - 💔. There’s nothing like those teenage loves. I’m sitting on my bed singing it out loud right now. Damn. SMH
Such a great song.... Ambrosia is another band you should check out.... You're the Only Woman...and Holdin' on to Yesterday come to mind... sure hope they are in your playlist!!!
Just found you a few days and have been binge watching, especially the Pink Floyd reactions. It's so great to have a young man getting into and loving the music us "old" folks grew up on. This is a true blast from the past. It's soft rock at its finest. Other bands to check out is Orleans, Bread, Seals & Croft, 10 cc, Paper Lace, Steely Dan, and so many others. Don't worry what other may have said, if you're digging the sound, let it out, baby brother.
Good call on Orleans. I used to put on headphones and listen to them at metal music volumes while being in wonder at how good they were. I swear, if you haven't heard them at high volumes, you're missing out.
I figured out, backwards, what your shirt sez. You really are my spirit animal. Great choice on this song... part of my soundtrack. The 70's were pretty amazing.
40+ years and I still remember all the words to these songs😂Just don't ask me what I did yesterday, that I WON'T remember lol. Guess I'm officially "old"🤣
Ron Moss who plays base guitar, became an actor after he left Player in 1983. Ron's acted in numerous movies and TV dramas over the decades. The band was formed in Los Angeles 1976. This was when the lead singer, Peter Beckett, an Englishman from Liverpool, joined Player.
This song was on the radio non stop and I loved it, and still do! It is such a groovy tune and really great lyrics, vocals and everything about it is just FIRE!! Thanks for another great reaction!!!
He does look precious. Loved the Jason and Argonauts. You really need to check out the bee Gees " love you inside and out ! " and fanny be tender". 😊😊😊 Absolutely love your channel and your energy
Another fantastic British group 💗💗Remember Motown was big in 60’s - 70’s, I know you love Al Green, well another great one he did in ‘72 is How Can You Mend A Broken Heart ( written & performed by BeeGees in 1971 !! Staxx Records had great sound s out of Memphis, then there is The Philadelphia Sound very big 70’s - 80’s, some LIVE performances by James Brown are so much fun The best dance moves by James Brown, it will make you go crazy ! Then Santana who made the world take notice with their incredible Woodstock performance 1969, & their career was on it’s way! A few other bands RUSH, THE GUESS WHO, APRIL WINE, 10CC, CCR, FRANKIE VALLIE & the Four SEASONS were very popular😻 Your trip has just begun 🤩
Great reaction. He does resemble a young Harry Hamlin from the original Clash of the Titans. Everybody loved this song. I can remember my brothers wearing this song out with all the girls they went out with. They were true players back in the day.
Their harmonies with make you cry it is so beautiful..,, My brothers and I would get together have the best time playing and singing to the top of lungs... I was blessed to have grown up in a household of crazy and music was the great equalizer... You did them sweet respect... Thanks my friend.. My smile!!! ❣
Fun fact: In the mid 70’s, same time this song was a hit, there was, coincidentally, a doll for little kids that walked!! called Baby Come Back. So while the teens and young adults were movin and a’groovin to this amazing song, the lil kids were being blown away by this new doll technology. I highly recommend googling the ads. 😊
I was a teenager in the 70s - I feel so lucky, it had every genre of music in the charts you could name. Tell you what Mark, just for laughs and a bit of fun do Benny Hill’s ‘Ernie the fastest milkman in the west’ it got to No 1 which proves hoe diverse that decade was - I dare you to go for it, it’d be a real chuckle.
Hey Hector, just had supper, now time for 70's!!!!!! You picked another goody!!!!💜💜💜 Here's a memory, about ten of of us in the basement, playing albums and passing the "devils lettuce". We also played spin the bottle and 7 minutes to heaven...🙂🙂🙂 Clash of The Titans 1981...
Greetings from Southwest Texas 🇺🇸 This was the first song that I ever danced with a girlfriend at a discotheque called the" Hot Point" and stole my first kiss. Thank you for another great flashback 👍✌️. Clash of the Titans hit the screen in 1981
I never get tired of this d@mn song. The bassist (the red shirt) was/is an actor in a soap opera on CBS The Bold and the Beautiful. That was my $hit. Oh & yo a$$ is crazy as hell. You always make me scream & laugh. I love your channel.
Thank You! That song is always on my 70s playlist. We love the same vibe. Reaction or no reaction, you have to hear Hall & Oates - "Sara Smile" in this lifetime. 🎵PRETTY PLEASE! 🎵
Funny how when these songs came out, I hated them. I was supposed to hate them, I was wearing wrangler jeans and a wrangler jacket to match 🙂 I was kinda in the Pink Floyd/ Led Zeppelin/ Kiss, side of things. Now, hearing them again I appreciate them so much. Just for the record. For the longest time I thought he was saying "I was ROBBED and I just can't live without you"
Player members were from the states and United Kingdom. The guy in red Ronn Moss turned actor played in a daily soap opera here in the states. He is making music 🎶 🎵 again. Peter Becket (lead singer ) is from Liverpool United Kingdom. They are in their 70s now. The actor for Clash Of The Titans was Harry Hamilin 1981
The bass player in orange/red became a soap opera star after the band went their separate ways. He played Ridge Forrester on The Bold & The Beautiful from '87-2012. His name is Ron Moss.
Been listening to this since it came out but I never saw Player. My gosh, I would have fallen in love with all of them!😂 What a handsome group of guys.
The bass player is actually Ron Moss, an actor who played Ridge Forrester in the American soap opera "Bold And The Beautiful".. Google it up buddy and be amazed! :D Love your content, keep it shining brother
I just love you❤❤❤ The Clash of the Titans guy is Harry Hamlin. Don’t think he is related to anyone in Player. However it’s going to be a joy to me to see you reacting to the 70’s. Sit back and enjoy the ride!!!
It would be a Christmas treat to see you react to Chuck Berry’s “My Ding A Ling”. Yes, it is what it is. But you and the audience would get a chuckle!!!😂😂😂😂
Takes me back to being 17 in the 70's. Other LPs on the record player.. "Radar Love" Golden Earring "Hold the Line" Toto "Zoom" The Commodores "Waiting in Vain" Bob Marley
You know I'm a huge fan of the channel but of course the 60s and 70s being my favorite decades musically although I like stuff from every decade including right now, I feel like with only a week per decade you only get to do a handful, but you're tending towards the more soft stuff. These are incredible songs and they have their place and they are each amazing in their own right, but what about some bangers like Fox on the Run by the British band Sweet, in the mid-70s. It dominated radio play and so many people had it on their cassettes that they were just brand new and people were making compilations for road trips and such. A bit of Glam Rock there on the two main videos that are available of them doing it to the studio track, I know you would absolutely love it.
This was the jam when I was in middle school. We had no videos back then so if we saw anything like this it was probably the Don Kirchner Rock Hour on Friday nights. Memory lane is sweet!
@sharonholsapple omg I nearly forgot about Boston! Hector she’s exactly right! Longtime from their first album. Actually anything from their first album. Realistically, you could do.a full month of monster hits from the 70’s Other bands off the top of my head Hector has never reacted to: Rush, Hall and Oates, Boston, Supertramp, Queen, Ted Nugent, Robin Trower, Heart, The Who, Grand Funk Railroad, The Hollies, Crosby Stills and Nash, The Eagles, Bob Segar, Peter Frampton, Journey, Forigner…the list just keeps going. Plus you’ve scratched the surface on Dire Straits and Van Halen. You’ve hit the mother lode Hector!
American blue eyed soul at it's best. Try Hall and Oates (America's greatest blue eyed soul duo) doing "Sara Smile", "She's Gone", "One On One", and "Rich girl, The Young Rascals (America's greatest blue eyed soul band) doing "Lonely Too Long", "Groovin' ", "Good Lovin' ", and "A Girl Like You", then try Ambrosia doing "How Much I Feel", and "Biggest Part Of Me" for more blue eyed soul goodness.
ty for sharing this great reaction / I'm not stuck in the 70s, I'm just not finished listening to it yet / I've been at it since , well ,, the 70s / stay safe & play it forward
My Young Friend. This song had just come out on the radio right when I had my first heartbeak in my senior year 1978. It haunted me and still does. Every time I hear it, it takes me right back there like it was yesterday. I love every minute of what you are doing, my friend. Keep going. You might want to put A System of a Down "BYOB" in your 2000 week. You might die but you will have a smile on your face at the funeral.
Omg!!!! I thought I loved you but that sweater is another level of awesomeness, Mark ❤😂 OH, the original Clash of the Titans was in the early 80's I think. But Harry Hamlin looks like that guy for sure. You're correct.
Probably can’t beat 70’s music for sheer talent, creativity and diversity. I love music across the last 70 years but 70’s is probably my favourite.
1977 - Brothers Johnson - Strawberry Letter #23.... A CLASSIC!!!!!!!
Goodness gracious me! I've not heard this song in ages. Reminds me a bit of hall & oates, great stuff!
No auto tune just pure talent!!! Respect 👊😎
How many songs from today will hold up 40-50 years later? The 70’s had such great music from multiple genre’s. We who grew up in that decade were lucky.
Oh, I love this song so, so much! It is up in my top 10 favorite 70's song. It's so smooth! Great pick, Hector! Much love ✌️❣️
Try "Lowdown" by Boz Scaggs! One of the greatest jams of the 70's! A timeless classic that sounds as fresh today as it did when it dropped in "76!
This song brings me back to the roller rink we used to go to, United Skates of America, and asking a girl to skate to the slow song, this was always the song or so it seemed. So much fun!!

😅😅😅 your joy is unbridled! Here's another smooth 70s jam, "Love Will Find a Way" by Pablo Cruise. Same vein as Player... great harmonies
